We decided on this cruise as it was sailing to the Canary Islands from the UK. With it being just an hour flight to London for us and a short enough train journey, it was a good option at this time of year.
After seamlessly boarding the ship, we were pleased with the ship overall. Nice public areas and to a high clean standard also.
We checked into our cabin and liked the decor and layout. ...
Cleaning of rooms only once a day.
You can choose either in the morning or in the evening.
Very poor desserts, both in the buffet and in the restaurant on the 3rd floor.
We tried breakfast at the restaurant on the 4th floor. We won't do it anymore.
There was a very small selection of food.
Price of drinks includes service charge.
The quality of the food, not like in the past. At ...
First thing to say is we have been taking cruises for over 25 years and have sailed on Holland America, Oceania, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Chose this cruise as it sailed from Southampton and went to stops we had not tried before.
Embarkation and debarkation was very quick and efficient and that was where it stops.
The ship always felt crowded and there were never enough sun beds on deck ...
We excitingly embarked on this two week sailing for what we hoped would be a nice way to relax and unwind - how very wrong we were. When we first arrived we had high hopes as we had cruised on the Anthem twice before and had a great experience. The main issue was the many teenagers running up and down the hallways and banging on doors and walls, being rude and intimidating to other guests and crew ...
We were only on Anthem 9 months ago. It was fabulous in every way. But I am sorry to say that now OMG! It's not good at all.
Food was poor even in Chop's Grill , they try to palm you off with stale doughnuts instead of pastries in main dinning breakfast , they was very limited drinks availability, no single malt! and the hygiene standards are slipping , entertainment (quiz's) were in small ...
I wanted to experience this transatlantic cruise to honor grandparents who braved this experience years ago. This ship, however, was so stable that at times it did not seem to be moving--fantastic weather.
The cabin (deck 8 balcony) was excellent. The shower and bathroom area was quite well organized, without the clinging curtain in the ships of old. Elevators were a dream--fast, responsive, ...
I've been an RCCL cruiser for 20 years and have been on about 18 cruises. My very first cruise was on 9/11 and I was blown away by their responsiveness, communication and generosity of letting all passengers make free ship-to-shore calls to check on loved one back home. I've never had one of those "sick cruises" (but I do sanitize my hands as suggested) and my cruises have generally been really ...
We are Diamond members and stockholders, however will not go on this cruise ship again!
Pros: 1. Very good food. 2. Room service good. Diamond Lounge was good.
Cons: 1. Supposed to leave ship on debarkation at 8:15 a.m. finally got off at approx. 4 hours later. Stood in line to disembark for approx 2 of those hours! Many people had canes and a few wheelchairs, however, no assistance to help ...
We are very disappointed with Royal Caribbean.
First the checkin was a mess too many people not enough help.
The cabin was very nice with the split bathroom, shower was wonderful.
Dining
The windjammer was a joke not enough tables, when you found a table they were covered with dirty dishes and not enough help to clean up, never went there again. Once was enough.
The restaurants were ...
Ship was full of glitz, computerised booking for dining, shows etc. Over-run by unaccompanied kids right up to midnight. No timeslots for the pool for kids. Windjammer, excellent as always, but over-full. Crew unable to speak much English, little interaction with guests.most crew recruited from different areas to other cruises I have been on, and again, not able to answer queries due to little ...
