Alaska is a great destination for sure. Our family had a great time during our vacation - we took both the land trip and the cruise. The destinations and the ports are all awesome! We have made some great memories. During the land trip, the train ride is great. Also during the cruise the glacier bay experience was breathtaking
The cruise itself was 'meh'. If you have a young family, like we ...
Had the time of my life. Great Ship and polite crew. Went Club Class. Food was great and the scenery in the Fjords was breath taking.
One small not so minor thing was the "at sea internet". It only worked about 10 percent of the time with a connection speed of 25K. Dial up would have been faster.
I brought this to the attention at the main desk and it was a wast of time.
I had ...
Book with Princess because I thought Princess was a step up from Carnival and they'd been cruising Alaska for 50 years. Plus I wanted to get close to Hubbard Glacier and the glaciers in Glacier Bay. Coral Princess is old and parts of it feels dated. Our Cabin had plenty of space and storage and a nice balcony. Our cabin Steward was great. The food was not impressive, but at least I wasn't ...
My husband and I are Latinx, in our 30s and decided to do the cruise for our honeymoon. We began in Whittier and ended in Vancouver.
The good:
- Cruise was small compared to others which makes it more intimate
- Food was really good, specially in the buffet
- Staff was super friendly and helpful
- Our cabin was cleaned on a regular basis
- Plenty of entertainment option (some a ...
Cabin steward and service throughout ship was good. Cabin well above 70 degrees throughout even though thermostat set on cold. Glad balcony had a door which opened. Food was disappointing- buffet breakfast was a zoo fighting aggressive people for a table. Lunch and dinner selections big on sushi, Indian....stuff I don't eat.
Main dining room more civilized. Food selections inconsistent ...
Wanted the land tour along with our repeat of the cruise portion from years before. Found the accommodations at the Princess Cruise lodges in Denali, Fairbanks and McKinley somewhat primitive, but certainly adequate. The one night in Anchorage was at the Captain Cook Hotel and found the facility and of superior quality. A great 5 stars for them. We recommend that in the Princess Hotels that room ...
Always wanted to see Alaska. Did a land tour first and got to see Denali (McKinley) 3 times in full sun. Put us in the 1% of visitors that did. Ship needs a full refinish for leaks, linens that were close to threadbare, deck flooring, buffet room and so on. The cabin staff was ok. Couldn’t get hot water in shower and when we asked our cabin steward about it he said he would check it out but ...
This is our 4th cruise with princess so I can compare our experience to the previous cruises.
We started this cruise from Vancouver going to Alaska for 7 days. In general all the princess ships are the same design so it was easy for us to get around the ship. We had a very nice cabin, very clean with a nice balcony. So as far as the cabin is concern I would rate it 4 stars. But no ...
Land portion very well done. David Barger, tour director, was exceptional and always available and friendly. From the landing in Fairbanks till David departed our tour in Anchorage he was always available and more then willing to assist with any problems, questions and to impart knowledge of Alaska. He seemed to loves his job and it showed. There were pre-scheduled tours that gave us a true picture ...
First Time Cruise; 40th Anniversary Celebration. With nothing to compare to, these opinions are based on a comparison to the views of others on Cruise Critic, as well as a comparison to the marketing of Holland America itself.
Food: C+. Pinnacle Grill was a memorable, and clearly, higher end dining experience. Main Dining Room (Vista) was good quality and selection, but nothing rising to ...
