Incredible shore experiences

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Coral Princess

I wanted to get my National Parks Passport stamped at Denali NP and Glacier Bay NP. This land/cruise tour offered those opportunities. We were escorted from the time our plane landed in Fairbanks until we arrived at Vancouver Airport a week later. All excursions were extremely well organized and presented. We loved everything we experienced on shore. Aboard the ship, we found it difficult ...

Went with another couple for four nights land on our own and seven nights cruise. The mini-cabin stateroom was great. Nice layout, clean, and very comfortable. Most of the staff was friendly. The dining room food was good. The buffet food was okay. We had an amazing experience cruising past a huge pod of orcas that lots of people missed if they didn't have an exterior view while dining. There was ...

My in-laws raved about their north-bound cruise that they took 13+ years ago, having unlimited lobster tail and the adventures that they had. So our group of 7 included 1 teenager, 4 adults in their 50's and my in-laws (between 80-90). Four of us did the land tour three days prior, flew out to Fairbanks, traversed our way south visiting Denali to meet up with three others in our party at ...

Mixed Experience

An Alaskan cruise was definitely a "bucket list" item for us. We had heard Princess was the best line for Alaska. Our experience on the ship, however, was mixed. Of course the scenery and ports did not disappoint (although towns were definitely geared to tourists). However, the customer service, food and activities on the ship were a mixed bag. My sense was about 40-50% of the staff were polite, ...

My husband and I traveled with another couple. We are all in our 60's. We have cruised many times, mostly with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean although with have been on Norwegian, Carnival and this was our 3rd cruise with Princess. We took the land tour first. We arrived in Anchorage around 8:30pm a day early, since we wanted to spend a day there and get acclimated to the time change. (We're ...

Second time around

This is our second trip to Alaska. This time we did the Connoiseur (?) land & sea. We liked the ship overall, but did find the shower very small, which sounds like a common issue for this ship. But it was manageable. We had an inside cabin with a window, and it was big enough for the time spent in it. The bed was very comfy, and our steward was friendly and very efficient. We ate mainly ...

Alaska land tour and cruise May 2019

We chose this trip because we’ve never been to Alaska and wanted to see a lot. We did the right thing by doing the 5 day land tour first. We started in Fairbanks and stayed at the Princess River lodge 2 nights. The room was adequate and the beds comfortable. Really enjoyed the River cruise and gold dredge tour but the lunch provided wasn’t good. Perfect weather. On to Denali where we went on the ...

Embarkation/Disembarking was very good. Entertainment was great. They had a comedian who engaged the audience in a fun way. We had the paid coffee package which was just okay. The alcoholic drinks we ordered were excellent. Although the ship was older the public areas were very nice and clean. The food was very good. You are not getting top of the line cuts but still very good. The desserts were ...

My travel companions and I could accommodate this date. In addition, others we know recommended the timing. We had perfect clear weather the entire trip. Lots of wildlife sightings and breathtaking glacier calving are unforgettable memories I will carry forever. Our cruise director was very funny and engaging. The shows I saw were fun and entertaining, and the food was excellent. Most of the ...

Great ports and the glaciers were outstanding

We wanted to see Alaska and the glaciers. Getting on and off the ship was very easy and mostly smooth. The ship was very clean and the mini-suite with balcony was everything you could ask for. We were very disappointed with the food. The service in the dining rooms was very good but the food was poor, with the exception of the two specialty dining rooms. We spent a goodly amount of ...
