Great Cruise Line - Just a few hiccups

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

This was our 8th cruise with Oceania and our first after the pandemic. Some have mentioned that the ship decor is dated, which I agree with, however, I heard they are renovating the ship in a few months. The restaurants were great as usual - my favorite was Jacques. The spa was wonderful and the cooking class was a lot of fun. While there are still many things to love about Oceania - the ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Apex

We were on the APEX Sept. 11, 2022 for a 12 day repositioning cruise Amsterdam to Rome. Celebrity admitted that the ship was understaffed by 225 crew members, and it showed. Dining service was impacted. One meal took 2.5 hours. Overall, the food seems to have slipped compared to past Celebrity experiences. We sent 3 entrees back for poor quality during the cruise. One tour guide was an hour late ...

Good but Exhausting

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

This was our eighth cruise overall and third with X. We chose this mainly for the itinerary. Embarkation, disembarkation and ship transfers were very smooth and well executed. We were on Silhouette a couple of years ago and loved The Hideaway so this time we booked on the forward slant, starboard deck 7. It was roomy for just the two of us with a very comfortable mattress and plenty of ...

Good But Not Memorable

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

We chose this cruise primarily for the itinerary given that the ship called in at Bilbao and Cadiz, the two ports on the itinerary which we had not previously visited. We also liked the idea of re-visiting Lisbon and Cartagena. What is a pity is that the cruise called at Gibraltar rather than either Malaga or Valencia which are far superior ports of call. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the ...

we chose this cruise because of the itinerary, it was a 10 night from Amsterdam to Barcelona, seeing great ports, La Coruna, Bilboa, Porto, Lisbon, Cartagena and Lisbon. we spent 2 days in Amsterdam in Hotel Il Fiore, which was a good choice, embarkation was very smooth, with no delays. we bought the 2 night dining package prior to boarding, and we had an all inclusive drinks package. we ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

Okay. I still think Viking Ocean cruises are the best. Our first Viking ship - the Sky - broke down & our cruise was truncated. BUT, overall, our recent Amsterdam to Barcelona cruise was above average: The ship is beautiful and, even though this was a full cruise, there’s still some places I haven’t made it to... Torshaven - I’m looking at you! I love that this is an adults-only cruise for the ...

Excellent ports, nice ship

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We wanted to see the Baltic and were not disappointed. We prefer the relaxed pace of river cruising, also because of the relative ease of getting into port, and the lack of sea days. This trip was as close to that as we could find on an ocean cruise. There was only one sea day, all other days being in port. The ports were great. We took only the Russian tours, which were essentially forced on us ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We have cruised with Oceania seven times so that speaks for itself how we regarded this cruise line. After visiting the Van Gogh museum and generally walking around Amsterdam we commenced our 23 days on Marina from 24 September to Barcelona, disembarking on 16 October. We thoroughly enjoyed the nightly entertainment and, as usual the dining experience was excellent, including the times we had ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

Our second journey on Marina in three years. This one 12 days vs 26 days on earlier cruise. This itinerary was very port intensive with no at sea days. For a 12 day cruise it was very manageable. We missed one port due to poor tendering weather conditions at Biarritz, so Bilbao had us for an extra day. The food and service was as good as our previous cruise. We tended to use the Terrace ...

Nice cruising on the Koningsdam

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Koningsdam

Overall we liked this ship. Our interior cabin was smaller than expected but it worked quite fine. The restaurants were good. The main dining room was ok but very hard to get a table for two. The Lido Market was ok but we found it quite repetitive for lunch. The pizza counter was good and so was the hamburgers, hot dogs and fries place. Loved the panoramic lounge. Good place to relax on ...
