It was so easy and fun

I thought it would be an easier way to see so much of Germany and Austria than to haul my suitcase across the countries. The cabin was comfortable, My favorite part of the ship was the lounge. It was a great place to relax with a drink or a cup of tea. I really liked being able to get a specialty coffee for free whenever I wanted and the cookies were nice in the afternoon after running around ...

Friends had taken this cruise a couple years ago and recommended it. We were interested in all the countries and ports in the Grand European Adventure. We spent 2 days exploring Amsterdam prior to the cruise and I would highly recommend it. Viking did everything they could to make the experience enjoyable. Stein, our Program Director, stated on the first day that they strive to Beat your ...

We chose the cruise for our 50th anniversary because of recommendations from friends. Everything ran so smoothly from the wonderful dining to the cabin care to the excursions. The crew went above and beyond to make the trip wonderful. We met several couples the first day who we enjoyed sitting with each evening. The Lounge was a wonderful gathering place. We would go there each evening before ...

I was invited by a friend, so I was going, just to be going somewhere on a vacation! Little did I know how much I would enjoy the trip and the history of the Netherlands and Belgium. The country is beautiful, the history of what these people have done to survive the wars and north sea is a wonderful experience. The people are truly lovely. Local guides, showing and telling us the local history, ...

Amsterdam Cruise including Tulip and Windmill Tour

We wanted to see the tulips and Amsterdam and many people recommended Viking. The dining on the Cruise was outstanding. The food was healthy. The portions were the perfect size. There were sufficient choices and every day there were basic choices and more gourmet items, if desired. We met lovely people on the Cruise, mostly in the dining room. I would have liked the option of sugar ...

I did this cruise as a mother and daughter cruise for mom's 80th birthday. The ship experience was great for her. She could relax on board when she was tired and go off the ship when she had the energy. She made good use of the walking track on the sundeck for safe walking exercise (especially when the weather was cold and rainy). We really enjoyed the food on board - lots of options on and ...

We had a great time.

This was our first river cruise and we loved it. We have been on a couple ocean cruises previously but we liked the river cruise much better. The personal attention we received was great and the much smaller passenger number made things much more enjoyable. The activities and excursions were well planned and organized. Our cabin was just the right size, clean and well maintained. Our dining ...

A bucket list cruise. Plus we love Amsterdam and the Netherlands. Crew and staff were A+ in every area. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. The large TV had information about our course and the next days stop. The TV system crashed a few times but was repaired quickly. Food was great and the servers were very attentive to our needs. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Bring ...

Spectacular Trip and Experiences

We chose to go on our trip several days early, to both enjoy the Amsterdam area and get acclimated to the time change before starting our river cruise. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our nice hotel, where we spent time with Viking hosts to better plan our time there. They were extremely helpful, we were able to see many key spots in and around the city, and the local transportation ...

Because of the itinerary. Met most of the folks on the ship. Loved the included shore excursions. Most of the city tours were very informative. Didn't like the Lipizzaner excursion. Waste of money. The included city tour saw more of the stallions than the optional excursion, and closer up. Meals, service, entertainment were great. Cabins on levels 2 and 3 are great, not on level 1. The ...
