We chose this based on a recommendation from a friend. We also wanted to see these countries, but work out of one base.
We cannot praise this experience with Viking enough! All the employees we encountered were "over-the-top" in their area; from housekeeping, restaurant employees, tour & transportation guides....all the way to captain, these people worked to make your trip perfect! One ...
Viking does it right. It's not just the ship but the entire crew. All are bright, intelligent and empowered to make your experience right. I particularly like the Viking "culture" from the way they communicate to how things are organized, they really have their act together.
I really like the "all inclusive" pricing. If we didn't care for a particular tour, it was easy to be on our own ...
We Have been to Europe several times on our own and wanted to experience a "guided tour". This was the best vacation ever, we expected first class and got exactly that in every way. The ship, our room, service on board, food, attention to detail, ships personnel and the guided "on shore" tours were beyond our expectations! On this particular cruise we choose to arrive a day earlier and stay one ...
We had never been on a River Cruise and friends recommended Viking. We really didn't know what to expect on this excursion but liked being able to see many of the sites in Europe without having to pack and unpack everyday.
Let me say at the start that our ship was top notch and the service was fantastic. My health requires that I eat gluten free and the maitre d met me at the breakfast ...
We chose this trip and these dates to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. My husband's father was born on the island of Texel and came to the USA in wooden shoes so we wanted to travel there to experience the culture of The Netherlands. We were greeted in our cabin with an anniversary dessert on the table and a card expressing best wishes. Everyone on the cruise made it a special trip for us ...
It was an excellent experience. I would do it again and again.Every thing from the food to the shore excursions to the entertainment and activities was excellent. I have been on an Ocean cruise and it just seemed so overwhelming with all the people. The amount of people on this cruise didn't make you feel like you were fighting crowds all the time. I like the idea they you had several excursion ...
We wanted to see tulips in the Netherlands in bloom. In spite of our early arrival we were taken directly to our ship. Because we had flown during the night, we were too tired to attempt to do anything on our own in the city. Refreshments were available and comfortable places to wait were provided. Our cabin was available before the posted time, for which we were very grateful. The ship was ...
This was my third cruise with Viking, having sailed with them to China and Germany, and I really wanted to see The Netherlands and Belgium. I had such a wonderful time on previous cruises, I knew I'd have a grand time on this one. Amsterdam was wonderful, as were all the cities we visited. I was traveling alone, but never felt alone as all the other cruisers were welcoming and friendly. ...
Fantastic service, food, and accommodations. Very organized both on board and on shore. Included tours were enjoyable and informative. The Hoorn homestead visit was great. We did some optionals: Haarlem, Agriport, Open Air Museum, Brussels. All were worthwhile. My only complaint with the optionals is that it wasn't entirely clear when we were signing up ahead of time that some conflicted with the ...
This was my second cruise with Viking and my experience was as positive this time as the first. We did the Tulips and Windmills trip that included several stops in the Netherlands as well as two stops in Belgium. In spring, this is a wonderful itinerary, particularly as one of the highlights was the spectacular Kuekenhof Gardens in Amsterdam (truly a highlight).
The ship is very comfortable. ...
