1-10 of 13 Amsterdam to Baltic Sea Viking Ocean Cruise Reviews
It was a Scandinavian cruise and we went to a lot of different ports. The best thing is that the weather held up the whole time we were there and there was no rain and the temperature was quite comfortable, which I understand is not the norm in those countries. We took an optional excursion in Hamburg, Germany to see the Neuengamme German concentration camp and memorial, which was well worth it ...
Family cruise to visit relatives in Oslo. Great ports with lots of activities in small cities which made for a real flavour of Norwegian life. Lots of time in each port to see and do what we wanted. Service was top notch as usual with a feeling that everyone cared for every passenger. Entertainment was good with a variety of performers.something for all to enjoy.
We had food in a number of ...
My ancestors came from Denmark and we wanted to explore the area. Went with 3 other couple.
Our ship, the Viking Ski had difficulties on previous cruise in rough seas. This trip had more enclosed waters and we figured Viking would do everything possible to make our experience unforgettable. We were not disappointed.
We were extremely lucky to hit the peak of tulip season and the tour of ...
We went looking for a Norway/fjord cruise and an extension on our own for a couple of days in Iceland - this ship seemed to fit the bill. Virtually brand new ship and this was our first time on Viking.
Our initial impression was that the decor and furnishings on this ship are excellent and well thought-out. The public area furniture is comfortable but not clunky and the general decor is ...
We booked this cruise to see the Northern Lights. We did see the lights several times. Unfortunately our cruise was cut short due to losing engine power in the middle of a storm. We were evacuated by helicopter. All in all, Viking, the crew, helicopter rescue crew, the Norwegian Red Cross, the support personnel, and the people of Molde were excellent in responding to assist us. Viking tried ...
We took our cruise on Viking Sun on July 7th leaving from Amsterdam, sailing to Bergen. Overall it was a wonderful cruise on a spectacular ship with a friendly crew to see unbelievable sights.
The positive: We enjoy sailing on smaller boats (less than 1,000 passengers) and have sailed with Princess, and Azamara. This, by far, was the best ship we have been on. Throughout the ship, it was ...
We chose this trip due to the Norwegian itinerary and the 7 day trip fit into our work schedule. We have cruised large ships and small, including very small ships of under 100 passengers and many of the larger lines with mega ships so we have a good basis of comparison. This was our first trip with Viking and the entire experience from embarkation to debarkation and everything in between was ...
We've enjoyed Viking River cruises very much and wanted to travel to countries in the north where we've never been. This ocean cruise looked promising as it would take us to Denmark and Norway with only one day ay sea during the advertised week long sailing. This appealed to us as we are more interested in visiting new places than the amenities of a cruise ship. We also chose the optional add-on ...
We had been on a Viking River Cruise the previous year and were so impressed with that experience, we thought we’d try an ocean cruise with Viking. Best decision ever!
The ship was beautiful, well designed and had a great crew. We never felt crowded as there are numerous public spaces. Our room was comfortable and well-designed. Heated floor in the bathroom!
The food at several restaurants ...
Our cruise this year on the Viking Sun was our 2nd cruise on the ocean, the 1st being with Holland America to Alaska, and I can say that the Viking Sun was smaller and more intimate than the SS Zaandam. While the food was excellent on both cruises, the Zaandam had a more international selection of cuisine, while the Viking Sun was more continental. This is not a criticism, just a comment. As I ...
