Fun, history filled vacation

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Mimir

As a former Viking guest, this itinerary lived up to expectations. I love the well planned longships! After leaving the Viking, we stayed at Ritz Carlton where I found the extra large bathroom much more difficult to organize and get ready. The light and airy environment was relaxing and never felt "tiny". Staff was phenomenal as well as the included tours. We did some optional tours which were ...

This was our second river cruise on Viking and we were not disappointed in the least! The Viking staff is by far the best! They are first class from the cabin steward to the captain. Dining was an experience in region flavor as each dinner reflected the region we were sailing through. The itinerary allowed for very busy days touring as well as relaxed time either on land or on ship. Every port ...

This is a long and detailed day by day log / review. For the summary, just scroll way down. Otherwise, enjoy our adventure from the comfort of your chair! Pre-travel: We booked this river cruise very 'last minute.' We were on our last day of a Celebrity cruise on June 11 when an e-mail popped in from Viking with a “Flash sale.” Concurrently, the US finally dropped their covid test ...

My wife and I had an amazing time on this cruise and plan to go on many more with Viking. The Viking crew were very good from the start of the cruise to the end. The food was equally epic. Out of all of the meals we had (over 15+ days), there was just one that we didn't really like. ALL of the rest were quite yummy! The entertainment at night was also fun and diverse. Our room was on the ...

Every aspect of this trip was superb. The entire staff was as warm and welcoming as they were efficient in their work and dedicated to providing us with a great experience. Every meal was first rate with varied offerings and excellent friendly service. Our AA suite was roomy and comfortable and maintained with great care buy our steward Lucio. As 'gentle walkers' we were provided for on the ...

This river cruise was a “post covid “, reward. It fitted the bill perfectly . Beautiful ship, covid safe , staff who couldn’t do enough for you great food and luckily for us fantastic weather. Low key entertainment with pianist/ singer just added to the calming effect. Although we did have a few singalong nights which were great fun. Some local entertainment, classical trio were ...

The entire April 3, 2019 Tulips and Windmills cruise on the Viking Mimir was flawless. We were fortunate. The weather was nice: cool but windy. The tulips were in full bloom. Timing for us could not have been better. From the shore excursions to the dining, all services were provided with grace and charm. Almost too much to fit into one week, but what wonderful memories. I was particularly ...

This was my first river cruise, and I cannot wait to go on another trip. There were a wide variety of excursions on offer - including art, history (both medieval and modern), engineering, farming, food, music, etc. - it was an excellent introduction to the area. The optional extension in Amsterdam before the cruise was a definite plus - we got to explore the city in greater detail and it ...
