We thought this was the perfect trip to help us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Lots of interesting venues to discover. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The organisation was second to none and we could just relax and look forward to a memorable holiday. We loved the fact that each day there was a trip included in the ...
brochures and promo not accurate. We knew low bridges would restrict us from using the sun deck at time. But not for days on end. We knew at some ports of call we would be double and triple banked. It happened too many times to be comfortable. So don’t get a Balcony. All this information should be spelt out and told how many times it would happen. in the promo.
Cologne was the only port we had ...
I chose this cruise because I wanted to see Germany and especially Neuschwanstein Castle. The trip included cities I had always wanted to see and the included excursions were perfect introductions to the towns we visited. The accommodations were comfortable; cozy but not too cozy! It was so wonderful to be able to unpack and enjoy the trip...unlike touring by bus where you have to repack every ...
This cruise was booked for my husband to spend his birthday on the Danube. We had fabulous weather, no rain for 17 days. Unfortunately we were cruising over Easter which limited some shore activities. The crew were great, very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The food was good quality but a bit weird at times. They must eat some odd things in parts of Germany. We have done ...
We signed up for this cruise because it coincided with peak tulip time in the Netherlands. Despite the crowds Viking was able to provide access to sites that generally avoided the crowds and gave us a good insight into the people and culture of Holland.
Although a bit nippy at times the weather was excellent.
The tours were generally extremely well done - although in Amsterdam museums ...
The two week, Grand European River Cruise appealed to us much more than a weeklong cruise. We believed it would allow us to “settle in” without immediately counting how many days we had left. And “settle in” we did. We began in Amsterdam after a four day jet jag adjustment in Amsterdam. Embarkation was efficient and welcoming, and the wine tasting on the Aquavit Terrace was a grand introduction. ...
We always sail with Viking because they are so excellent at looking after you in every way. The food was wonderful, accommodations were impeccable, and the service was excellent. The places we visited were astounding, so full of history and stories and visually stunning. Buses were very comfortable, well organized and even though the Danube water was low and we ended up on buses a lot from the ...
This was my 7th Viking Cruise... and sailed again with Viking because we have ALWAYS had the finest serviced and experience on every ship and Cruise we've been on with Viking. Ships are magnificent... clean and comfortable. Crew and staff are always first rate... always there to help, service is beyond reproach, in fact laudatory .... "service with a smile" ... the breakfast chef even knew my name ...
We wanted to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with a trip that was big and exotic! We travelled to Hawaii for our 35th anniversary and needed something bigger and better. We had been to Europe previously twice before but not since 1980 and then 1989. We loved Europe!! Then we saw an advertisement on our local TV station. GRAND EUROPEAN CRUSIE ON VIKING! We contacted the travel agent ...
We chose this cruise because we had done the same cruise from the other direction, viz. Budapest to Amsterdam in October 2012, and enjoyed it so much we encouraged friends to go and we accompanied them. Unfortunately because of the the hot weather and lack of rainfall the Rhine and Danube were impassable in several spots. This required meeting the ship just past Cologne instead of at Amsterdam. ...
