"Our candlelight dinner river cruise joined by new friends we met during our time on the Bragi to capture Budapest at night (a must) was incredibly beautiful. We look forward to our next Viking cruise!..."Read More
I was interested in visiting all of the places on the itinerary. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because we had to switch ships in the middle of the trip. It was not Viking's fault and they absolutely handled it like pros! Mother Nature was at fault. If I could have given a 4.9 I would ! The staff was wonderful, the ship was spotless, the food and drink were delicious, and the tour ...
We chose this cruise because it sailed to places we had not been and wanted to see. Our Cruise Director, Hotel Manager, Chef, and all other crew members were exceptional. Viking goes above and beyond to ensure a positive guest experience.
We enjoyed visiting medieval villages like Regensburg, Germany, and touring the Melk Abbey. A highlight and surprise was the classical Concert we attended in ...
We went at this time to see the tulips before the cruise began, which we did. As expected the weather was dicey, some good days some not.
The cruise itself was very good. Food was great, company was great. We purposefully did not sit at the same table every night in order to meet new people. For the most part the free tours and the "paid extra" tours were very good. We had trouble with 2 in ...
We LOVED our Viking River Cruise Grand European Tour!!! I will have to be honest and mention a couple of things. 1. We thought this was a "Christmas Markets Tour" and it was NOT!!! Christmas Markets were part of this tour, but, not an emphasis! The tours also were at a VERY high pace and those who have any mobility questions will have to anticipate this. Another thing that I need to confirm with ...
Wanted to see more of the world, visit new sites while keeping all of our belongings in one secure place. The idea of a river cruise held great appeal. Freedom to relax on board, a manageable amount of fellow travelers, good food and interesting excursions. The food was fabulous, honoring local cuisine. We would get daily updates from the chef and all meals were uniformly terrific. Kudos to our ...
I very much enjoyed this cruise because of the ship and it’s excellent crew. The cabin was clean and neat with great housekeeping staff. Food choices were often a bit overwhelming during dinner. Breakfast and lunch were very good also. The wait staff in the lounge was very efficient and friendly. The staff often remembered my preference of beverage.
My only dislike were the size of crowds at ...
We chose this cruise because of the ports to explore along the various rivers. Amsterdam, Cologne, Nuremberg, Vienna, and Budapest were historically appealing for my husband and I. The excursions were very informative and comprehensive. We enjoyed on board entertainment especially the German glass blower. The meals were delicious and reflected the lands we were touring. The option of changing ...
This was a special two week celebration cruise for us for which we paid as a couple over £12,000.
There was a mix of English speaking 'guests', as we were called. Although I'd particularly asked for a cruise with a majority of British clients, of the 186 'guests' most were American. There were a few British and an Australian couple and a New Zealand couple. The food was good and plentiful ...
I injured my knee a month before the cruise and was still in pain. There are walking groups for the slower walkers. This was not always so easy, one man kept getting lost, another couple was always late, it was not hard to get to certain areas walking but once inside the castles or ruins the paths were very uneven and painful for me.
I loved the dining. I felt like we were so important and ...
We enjoyed our cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. We stayed in Amsterdam two nights before the cruise and extended our trip with three nights in Prague at the end. We had a minor upset on our trip. Our boat was mispositioned (in Budapest) so we boarded a different boat to meet the Bragi in Nuremberg . The Bragi his a bridge on the way up so we we housed in a very nice hotel on Nuremberg for two ...
