Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Riviera

We sailed to Alaska on Oceania in 2013 and loved it. We haven't been able to book with Oceania again until this cruise and we were excited. We were especially anticipating the food because of our prior experience. Sadly, we were disappointed. First, the good: the rooms are roomy and beautiful. The bathroom was the best (by far) I've ever had on a ship or in many hotels. We had a great cabin ...

Best Cruise Ever on the Riviera

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

Having sailed on 50 cruises or more, this was the best cruise we have ever had. Everything about the ship, food, service, and cabins were first rate. Riviera is completely refurbished and looks spectacular in all areas. She is a beautiful ship inside and out. With about 1200 passengers, Riviera is large enough to give you plenty of dining options and public areas and yet small enough to ...

Great Cruise Line - Just a few hiccups

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

This was our 8th cruise with Oceania and our first after the pandemic. Some have mentioned that the ship decor is dated, which I agree with, however, I heard they are renovating the ship in a few months. The restaurants were great as usual - my favorite was Jacques. The spa was wonderful and the cooking class was a lot of fun. While there are still many things to love about Oceania - the ...

Wonderful Cruise - Great Ports, Lovely Ship

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

We booked this cruise almost 2 years ago. We liked the itinerary very much, particularly the 2 days in Bordeaux and several other ports in France. We also saw that this would be a special culinary cruise with Jacques Pépin attending, so that was of interest to us too. This was our fourth cruise with Oceania and our second in Europe with them. We have also done a number of cruises on other ...

Amsterdam-Lisbon, Great trip even with a few high seas

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

Wanted to go to Amsterdam and liked the ports for this cruise. Had not been to Spain or Portugal before. We spent 4 nights in Amsterdam before the cruise. Embarkation was very fast - this is our 5th cruise with Oceania and we arrived when it is usually most busy but there were more than enough people to log us in, get room cards, etc. Disembarkation was also amazing. Instead of being dumped ...

Marina, over promises and under delivers

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

I really tried to enjoy Marina she comes with a great reputation however overall I was disappointed. 1. The decor is very dated I know she was refurbished only a couple of years ago, but why make her look so dull, old fashioned and over-done? 2.The enrichment and shore information was non existent. No lectures, no on screen information just an overview in the daily news letter. Every day the ...

Excellent ports, nice ship

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We wanted to see the Baltic and were not disappointed. We prefer the relaxed pace of river cruising, also because of the relative ease of getting into port, and the lack of sea days. This trip was as close to that as we could find on an ocean cruise. There was only one sea day, all other days being in port. The ports were great. We took only the Russian tours, which were essentially forced on us ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We have cruised with Oceania seven times so that speaks for itself how we regarded this cruise line. After visiting the Van Gogh museum and generally walking around Amsterdam we commenced our 23 days on Marina from 24 September to Barcelona, disembarking on 16 October. We thoroughly enjoyed the nightly entertainment and, as usual the dining experience was excellent, including the times we had ...

Cruising the Bay of Biscay

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Marina

I and my wife and 9 other friends took a cruise aboard the Oceania Marina around the Bay of Biscay. The ship’s itinerary started in Amsterdam, then to Dover in England, then Honfleur in France, then down the west coast of France, then the north coast of Spain, ending in Lisbon. This route is not often offered by the cruise lines, but turned out to be quite good and enjoyable. We learnt ...

Marina Castles and Cathedrals

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

Our second journey on Marina in three years. This one 12 days vs 26 days on earlier cruise. This itinerary was very port intensive with no at sea days. For a 12 day cruise it was very manageable. We missed one port due to poor tendering weather conditions at Biarritz, so Bilbao had us for an extra day. The food and service was as good as our previous cruise. We tended to use the Terrace ...
