Norwegian Dawn Falls Short

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

The staff that are working on the Norwegian Dawn are fantastic. But the organization of getting on and off the ship is terrible. Norwegian has complicated getting on the ship for the first time to new horizons. Multiple waiting areas for no apparent reason. Worst we have ever seen. It was also the worst management of shore excursions that we have ever seen on any cruise. At any one time ...

Well...the Tuna-fish Wasn't Bad

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We chose this cruise due to the variety of the intinerary. We had never sailed on Norwegian, but have had good experiences with lines as diverse as Carnival and Silversea. The embarkation point in Amsterdam was conveniently located to the City. The embarkation process itself was painfully long, chaotic and barely sanitary. The cabins were fine. A bit dated. No USB charging stations and the ...

The British Isle itinerary was great

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

The British Isle itinerary was great. 10 days was a good length. I have done 7. Day cruises and they just seem too short. There was one day at sea and all others in ports. We started in Amsterdam, Bruges, Sea Day, Edinburgh, Invernook, Orkney Island, Belfast, Liverpool, Dublin, Portland, Southampton. The ship was a good size., not too big There were two flaws, there was no observation lounge, ...

Peaceful and relaxing on this small ship

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

This was my fifth cruise and the oldest and smallest ship I’ve been on. It was an excellent experience. The Dawn is still very well-maintained and didn’t feel dirty or old in the slightest. We reportedly had 1400 passengers onboard, so 60% capacity. The ship felt fully staffed and there were never long line-ups. Where it felt busy was when they closed the main dining rooms for lunch *and* ...

Nearly perfect cruise

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Let me start by saying we are not very experienced cruisers, so we don't have much comparison data. We booked this cruise to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The last cruise we took was on our honeymoon, 20 years earlier. Our decision to go with Norwegian was primarily because of the interesting and diverse itinerary, but to us, the absolute best part of the trip was the wonderful staff. ...

They did a great job refurbishing this ship!

Even though we had been on the Dawn four times already, we chose this cruise for the itineraries and therefore went on the Dawn again. We did not have high expectations because it’s an older ship. Thankfully we were wrong. The ship was half empty. We were upgraded to a Haven cabin. Our butler was amazing. His name was Cipriano. He brought us food whenever we asked made sure we had enough towels ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

As this time, probably the whole world knows about the disaster European trip provided by the Norwegian Pearl . However, I wanted to point that I consider that all the blame should be taken by the Norwegian Pearl management and/or corporate team for the way that they manage all the situation and information about the defective engine on board during this time. The did not share any ...

Cruise broke down in Barcelona and was told to GET OFF!

First of all the staff on the ship was amazing. This review is solely to the Management of the Pearl. My wife and I planned for months for our honeymoon to Europe that was ruined by Norwegian. The ship set sail from Amsterdam and everything seemed great. We sailed for 8 days and stopped at 6 amazing ports. It was on the 9th day that the cruise went downhill very fast. An hour before arriving ...

Poor entertainment and ship broke down

We were so excited to go on this cruise! We went on board and had a great onboard experience. That night we went to the show and it was blah... we both agreed it was because we are spoiled in San francisco with off broadway shows. At the show- that was the first and ONLY time we saw the cruise director Pedro. He was MIA for two weeks- we “heard his voice through the ceiling” for ...

Sad ending

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

Sad to say that it was the problematic PEARL. Rumors of previous problems; and true to form this boat died and we were left stranded on our own about 2/3 thru cruise. Attempts to continue along the Med coastline was cancelled.. This was a 2week cruise covering a lot of ports, thus the reason to book it. Food was very good. Specialty options are well worth the extra money and highly ...
