Inconsistent Food and Service. Poor Spa

Review for Crystal Debussy to Europe - River Cruise

User Avatar

10+ Cruises • Age 70s

We looked forward to a relaxing trip with great food and being docked in the center of towns. Unfortunately most of the docking locations required a bus ride or very long walk to town. There was only 1 therapist in a 1 room "spa". She was rude and didn't listen to our concerns. Some of the food was outstanding including the lobsters flown in from Maine but other dishes were only average. ...

Amsterdam-Lisbon, Great trip even with a few high seas

Review for Marina to Europe - British Isles & Western

Wanted to go to Amsterdam and liked the ports for this cruise. Had not been to Spain or Portugal before. We spent 4 nights in Amsterdam before the cruise. Embarkation was very fast - this is our 5th cruise with Oceania and we arrived when it is usually most busy but there were more than enough people to log us in, get room cards, etc. Disembarkation was also amazing. Instead of being dumped ...

Wonderful Cruise - Great Ports, Lovely Ship

Review for Marina to Europe - British Isles & Western

We booked this cruise almost 2 years ago. We liked the itinerary very much, particularly the 2 days in Bordeaux and several other ports in France. We also saw that this would be a special culinary cruise with Jacques Pépin attending, so that was of interest to us too. This was our fourth cruise with Oceania and our second in Europe with them. We have also done a number of cruises on other ...

Review for Crystal Mahler to Europe - River Cruise

User Avatar

The Mahler is a beautiful ship. The staff were beyond helpful. The food and drinks were more than you could possibly eat or drink. Unfortunately on the 17 Grand Tour they close the top deck for 8-10 days. We couldn’t go up and enjoy the scenery, relax, or exercise. The company should disclose this information. It would have made a difference in our choice of ships. There are no other places to ...

Another great Uniworld cruise - Castles along the Rhine

Review for S.S. Antoinette to Europe - River Cruise

My wife and I just returned from our second Uniworld cruise. The first was on the S.S. Catherine going from Lyon to Avignon in 2016. It was excellent and initially we were a bit concerned that the Castles along the Rhine (Amsterdam to Basel) cruise might not live up to our experience in the south of France. But it certainly did! We spent 4 days in Amsterdam before boarding the S.S. ...

Nice but didn't meet our expectations

Review for Seven Seas Navigator to Baltic Sea

We sailed from Amsterdam to New York. The ship was great. It is small which I liked but it would have been nice to have more public space with more comfortable chairs. The remodel they did in June was lovely but more focused on design instead of comfort. Our room was lovely and was in a great location. I LOVED the walk-in closet and bathroom. Room Service food service was EXCELLENT...always ...

First Time on Crystal - My Impressions vs. Regent Seven Seas

Review for Crystal Serenity to Europe - British Isles & Western

For those interested, here are impressions of a first-time Crystal cruiser on Serenity, comparing our experience mainly with Regent Seven Seas. We’ve also cruised Oceania, Viking Ocean, Azamara and a number of other lines. In summary, Crystal wins big on food and service to passengers, and also on public spaces. It loses big to Regent on cabins and included excursions. The food was ...

To begin with this review, the cruise with the Silver Wind was fabulous as always. Food was great and the service could not be better. The ship need a renovation, but that happens nex year. Dining at eveningtime we prefer The Restaurant. Meals are very good and the service also. At lunch we prefer La Terrazza outside. It's so nice to sit there with a nice view. In St Peters Port the weather ...

Cruising on Silver Wind, with the grand finale at the Tower Bridge

This story is about the first days of the cruise, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Sailing on a small cruise ship with the highlight sailing under the Tower Bridge .... On the Silver wind, I wanted so badly to cruise with this ship, the journey was nice and short; seven days, from Amsterdam to London. The ports of call: Amsterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Guernsey, Falmouth, Cowes on the ...

Review for Crystal Mahler to Europe - River Cruise

User Avatar

Our first Crystal River Cruise aboard the Mahler one of their five river ships gave us many special moments to remember. We just completed the sojourn from Amsterdam to Budapest itinerary. We are savvy cruisers having experienced many ocean itineraries aboard vessels of differing sizes. Instead of detailing the ship itself which was 2 years old, I will tell you the design team knows and ...
