I chose this cruise for the ports, especially Iceland. I could go on and on about the wonderful ports. My sister raved about Royal Caribbean so we thought we would try it. The coffee bar needs improvement, the servers were slow and they would punch your card twice if you asked for a medium coffee. The coffee was not not the best. We would not recommend Viking river cruise.
Dealing with Viking Air was cumbersome and time consuming. Nickel and dime air charges: $100.x2, $166.50x2, $24x2, $50x2, $20.x2. And no refund on any, some being Viking mistakes, some just illogical rules.
Food was poor, most guests we ate with agreed. Customer blogs before this cruise commented on poor food and Viking chose not to fix this ...

The staff that are working on the Norwegian Dawn are fantastic.
But the organization of getting on and off the ship is terrible. Norwegian has complicated getting on the ship for the first time to new horizons. Multiple waiting areas for no apparent reason. Worst we have ever seen.

We are long time cruisers and decided to try river cruising. Unfortunately we chose AMA for this canal sailing to Belgium and Netherlands.
Checkin was easy. My first floor room was as expected, small but adequate. My only room complaint is there seems to be some mold in the room as I often had allergy symptoms only while in the room, my only allergy is to mold.

To begin with this review, the cruise with the Silver Wind was fabulous as always. Food was great and the service could not be better. The ship need a renovation, but that happens nex year.
Dining at eveningtime we prefer The Restaurant. Meals are very good and the service also.

Am 70, fairly fit, travelled with fit wife, both do not eat meat. Prefer quality over quantity.
Have cruised many times before, but first time on NCL.
Balcony on 10th floor.
NCL has a culture problem in that do NOT pay attention to details with both admin, food and service being second rate.
Most staff were either poorly trained or poorly supervised/managed

We chose this cruise for just one reason, the itinerary. The ship in general is very mediocre. The food in the main dining room, and buffet were on par with my company's cafeteria.
