Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

We chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary. We are not novice cruises, having done over 60 of them. The ship is older, but appears to be well maintained for the most part. Embarktation was slow, stood in line for over an hour before we boarded. We had a balcony cabin that was spacious and featured good storage. Most employees try very hard to please, but overall management is ...

IS THE JEWEL A TRAINING SHIP? Several of our fellow passengers thought so...

The food was mediocre at best. The itinerary was why we chose this cruise. I have been around long enough to know that the new, splashy ships have the least interesting itineraries, and the older tired ships have the most interesting itineraries. However, I did not expect the older ship to offer subpar food and experiences. The salad dressings had no flavor at all, and the soups were just ...

Mid size. Medium everything

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

While not bad…not as great as other ships with RCCL. Entertainment was not best. Whoever thinks a juggler, a magician, ventriloquist and cyclist offer much adult entertainment needs to think again. Ship entertainers were not always singing live during shows and the music was much louder than the vocals. The food in the dining room was presented well. Best waiters ever. But food was so so. ...

Jewel of the Seas • 8 NIGHT NORWEGIAN FJORDS CRUISE - 5/4/2023

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

The idea of taking the cruise was to visit Amsterdam beforehand and cruise along Norway villages were the two countries that we wanted to visit for the longest time. We were disappointed with how old the ship was, everything is outdated. The $32 fee a day for a couple is for room cleaning but the toilet area ALWAYS smells like urine. The service in the Tides restaurant was excellent, though all ...

Overall a good cruise although it didn't quite live up to my expectation for the price.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Quest

First, the positive impressions - as compared to my expectations: - Service was outstanding! They were right on top of everything without being overbearing. - Cruise itinerary due to smaller ship size. Even when tenders were required it was efficiently operated. - Food quality and presentation. - Dining room atmosphere. Noise level was low with no disturbing background music. ...

We have sailed on a wide variety of cruises from a pricing perspective, with Azamara running towards the higher end. We chose this cruise based largely on its self-description as a port intensive, all inclusive journey. We found neither to be the case. Two of the ports were particularly disappointing. Invergordon, the port for Inverness, is a small town with very little going on, and is a 45 ...

Excellent Itinerary Mediocre Ship

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

Chose this cruise for the itinerary which was excellent. Loyal Royal Caribbean diamond member. The cabin was as expected. Very clean. The bathroom sink had shallow cracks in it. The shower faucet had obviously been repaired but not well. There was a sharp hole in the left side handle. On the right side we had to learn how to manipulate the handle to get enough hot water. They did send the ...

Nice but didn't meet our expectations

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

We sailed from Amsterdam to New York. The ship was great. It is small which I liked but it would have been nice to have more public space with more comfortable chairs. The remodel they did in June was lovely but more focused on design instead of comfort. Our room was lovely and was in a great location. I LOVED the walk-in closet and bathroom. Room Service food service was EXCELLENT...always ...

Pretender, not Contender to Excellence

My wife and I were celebrating our 25 years of marriage with the third of three RCCL cruises within the last nine months. We had spotted this itinerary of 12 nights in the British Isles and Ireland, and thought how nice it would be to visit Scotland, in particular. We had not cruised on Brilliance before, but had done trips on sister ships, Jewel and Serenade. Boarding/check-in in Amsterdam ...

Sad ending

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

User Avatar

Sad to say that it was the problematic PEARL. Rumors of previous problems; and true to form this boat died and we were left stranded on our own about 2/3 thru cruise. Attempts to continue along the Med coastline was cancelled.. This was a 2week cruise covering a lot of ports, thus the reason to book it. Food was very good. Specialty options are well worth the extra money and highly ...
