I was sick most of the time and had little to no access to meds. I came home with Covid. Testing and meds were not available on ship. The ship was nice, clean and rooms well appointed, if not very small. The weather was cold, so the balcony wasn't really used. The food was good and the cruise director was excellent.
The staff was very friendly (except for front desk), remembered names and ...
My husband and I (retired, 65 and 70) have been indulging in high end travel since we became empty nesters, but our last cruise was in 1997 with kids. We’ve been receiving catalogs from Viking for years and this year the lure of unpacking only once was strong and Europe at Christmas was enticing.
On the positive side -
We booked our own travel and made our way to the Magni without any ...
This was our first River cruise. Celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. My husband had read so much about Viking so we booked departing Amsterdam Nov. 12, 2023 for the 8 day cruise to Basel. The crew was exceptional, cabin was nice. The food was ok, cold most of the time. In the brochure it states no waiting in lines and that what we did most of the time. We thought that once we got to a ...
We had traveled with Viking previously and were impressed by the all inclusiveness and the on board hospitality. This, being the ships last cruise of the year, seemed to have run on a budget. We bought the Silver Spirits beverage package which boasts premium alcohols, but almost everything I asked for was out from the very beginning of the cruise, and not replenished during. There was plenty of ...
Wanting to avoid the health issues of some of the larger cruises, I chose this cruise because it was advertised as a small ship with not too many passengers. My travelling partner and I were told by our agent that there would be about 80 passengers. There were 180 passengers aboard ship. The staff was magnificent, always smiling, always wanting to go the extra mile except when it came to illness. ...
together with some friends we all decided to go on a Viking River Cruise. this was planned well in advance. this was a trip of a lifetime and based on Viking's reputation expectations were high. well nothing is ever perfect when traveling this trip did not escape glitches.
Pros: Viking picks you up at the airport and guides you to the ship (or hotel) and takes care of your luggage!

We chose this cruise for the itinerary but found the ports disappointing compared to our Prague to Paris cruise-City if Lights on Viking. The views on the Rhine cannot compare to the Main and the Moselle Rivers. Also the ports weren't nearly as interesting. The newer ships are nice but our room was very tight. We upgraded to a French balcony but we could barely get around the end of the bed. We ...
We sailed to Alaska on Oceania in 2013 and loved it. We haven't been able to book with Oceania again until this cruise and we were excited. We were especially anticipating the food because of our prior experience. Sadly, we were disappointed.
First, the good: the rooms are roomy and beautiful. The bathroom was the best (by far) I've ever had on a ship or in many hotels. We had a great cabin ...
My wife and I have always wanted to go on a river cruise after about 20 ocean cruises. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary so took the plunge! The Rhine River is fantastic and we high recommend this itinerary, starting in the Amazon city of Amsterdam and finishing in Switzerland! We found that the level of service and cuisine was comparable to our ocean cruises, usually on Royal ...
I chose this tour because it covered the Rhine and the Danube rivers. Also, it had the no single supplement available and as a solo traveller this is a bonus as the regular cruise price is very expensive. The staff on the Emerald Sun were very personable and helpful. They addressed you by your first name rather than a generic greeting in most cases. The cruise ship was kept clean and neat. ...
