I admit Virgin Cruises has spoiled us. But due to being a new cruise line and limited destinations, we booked the Viking Saga cruise on the new Rotterdam ship.
Pros: the pros are there are very few children on this ship, which makes for a better experience for me at least. The entertainment was classy and catered more to a cultured crowd. The blues band was excellent and the classical ...
We boarded at Amsterdam, everything went smoothly. Into our cabins quickly and able to go for lunch. The ship is beautiful with lots of lovely crew. Our cabin was extremely comfortable and spacious with excellent air control and a good size balcony. The bathroom had a powerful shower with Elemis toiletries. We enjoyed the Pinnacle and Tamarind restaurants along with the Lido and Dutch cafe. ...
Well it sure was'nt the carribbean...lol. It was a sedate crowd with very little to do on sea days. The shows at night were very good and plenty of seating with 50% occupancy on the ship. The main dining room food was hit or miss and some of the meat was very tough. Eden was fabulous with excellent food and service. Steakhouse also very good. We should not have to pay extra for a nice dinner. ...
I just finished Celebrity's survey that they email you post-cruise, but it did not give me a chance to say what I really wanted about this much anticipated cruise. Instead, this is going to be a really long review so I can get it all said!
As an introduction, I am soon to be 65 and my husband is soon to be 68 with our son who is 18 and starting college in August. We live outside Philadelphia ...
I've previously sailed on the Equniox and thought it a much better ship. The Apex was beautiful, but not enough common areas to hang out to read a book or gather at a table to play a game. No promenade, no library, no ice bar. 14 decks compared to 19 on the Equinox, seems they took away common area for rooms. I appreciate we were only at 50% capacity, otherwise it would have been impossible to ...
2 week Norway cruise ruined. Our deck 5 cabin was next to isolation area. I sat on our balcony for several days til I HAD to speak to woman on balcony next to me who smoked outside everyday. She informed me she was in Covid isolation and was told she could smoke. So, I inhaled her smoke for days. They put HEALTHY New passengers right next door to Covid area. We demanded to be moved, and days later ...
We wanted something different and opted for a cruise to Norway, leaving from Amsterdam, as we had never been to any of these places. It was simple getting from our hotel in central Amsterdam to the Terminal and onboarding was slick and immediate. We were required to do an Antigen test two days before sailing, which cost us Euros 80, and were never requested, which is bizarre. I hope they change ...
Even though we had been on the Dawn four times already, we chose this cruise for the itineraries and therefore went on the Dawn again. We did not have high expectations because it’s an older ship. Thankfully we were wrong. The ship was half empty. We were upgraded to a Haven cabin. Our butler was amazing. His name was Cipriano. He brought us food whenever we asked made sure we had enough towels ...
The “have it all” package is not high value and you should not pay more than $350 over the bare bones fare for it for sailings if a week or more, otherwise it won’t give you much bang for your buck:
The shore excursions are massively over-priced (easily twice as expensive as available from trustworthy online purveyors); you can do way better independently.
The internet is not good enough to ...
Having recently disembarked from Holland America’s Rotterdam this(June 5 2022) I would like to share my thoughts with you. Be prepared for a long, thorough report.
This a brand new, well maintained boat. We had about 60-70% capacity. A great majority 65 plus. Many walkers and motorized wheel chairs. Maybe a dozen children along with a group of 150 young European
Travel agents who were ...
