The furniture was old and the draws needed latches in rough weather, very dangerous. the housekeeper was late every day and needed additional cleaning.

Great First Time Cruise By: awbarnett
We requested a king size bed. It took up more room in the cabin but that was fine with us because we spent very little time in the cabin. The balcony was small but we could sit outside or open the door for fresh air. A couple of the drawers wouldn't stay closed when it got a little rough but all in all we liked our cabin.

A week on the Chesapeake. By: triviascribe
Cabins on American Cruise Lines ships are more spacious that those on the large ships. The bathrooms may be small, but have all the amenities one requires - except a makeup mirror.

Ship was a bit dated but well kempt. Cabin was nice but bathroom grout needs attention.

A great way to see New England By: PaigeP Michigan
Our cabin had two twin beds, LOTS of drawers, and a nice sized closet for hanging items. There were definitely more drawers available than two people needed for a week. The room itself is a nice size. The bathroom is quite large - like that in a small apartment - with a "normal" size shower. Our room had a balcony and if I travel with American again wont' upgrade to a balcony. The balcony is very narrow - you need to sit sideways in a chair. And the window in the room is quite large - which it is in the cabins without balconies - so there really is no need for a balcony room. Plus, there is a ton of room with really comfortable (and some shaded) patio furniture on the top deck.

The cabin and bathroom were surprisingly large. We had a balcony which had two chairs and a small table. The cabin was at the end of the ship and one night we could hear the lines rubbing on the boat, so the staff moved us to a middle cabin which was completely quiet. The room was easily accessible. It had a great view. Plenty of storage space; we even had golf clubs with us and everything fit comfortably. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Our choice of cabin was good. It's in a quiet location on ship. We didn't use the balcony but it did have one.
