We wanted to cruise the Snake and Colombia Rivers to trace the last part of the Lewis and Clark expedition. The route was very good and the onboard historian added immeasurably to the cruise. Traveling along the Columbia River is utterly beautiful and peaceful. In order to fully enjoy this cruise, however, we had to ignore that we were nowhere close to getting good value for our money. The ship was comfortable, well maintained, staff friendly. The food was another issue. Restaurant service was spotty. After three days of cold soup, I gave up on soup and switched to salads.
