Expensive Columbia River Cruise NOT done perfectly

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American West (formerly Queen of the West)

Just finished 1 week cruise on Queen of West Columbia & Snake River in Oct 2021. It was NOT "Small Ship Cruising Done Perfectly". The old ship is like a 2.5 star motel. The advertised "Exquisite Cuisine" was B average . The dinner rolls were always room temperature and hard. I recommend they switch to Hawaiian Sweet Rolls so that it's always soft. "Acclaimed Entertainment" consisted of ...

Not Worth the Money

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Pride

The food was poor to say the least. The airline chicken consisted of an unseasoned piece of meat with BBQ sauce poured on top. To make matters worse, it was raw in the middle. The short ribs were cold when they came to the table and heavily laced with fat and grizzle. The portobello mushroom sandwich consisted of two burnt pieces of toast and a mini mushroom in the middle. The baked potato was ...

Not happy with this ship.

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Star

We wanted to cruise the inland waterway. I thought this would be a luxury cruise because it was so expensive. The ship looked old and tired and the cabin was disappointing. They only had one elevator that was like a coffin and I didn't;t see any lifeboats, so no lifeboat drills, how do they get away with this? No phone in cabin and we had to ask for soap and toilet paper and waited hours for ...

An amazing disappointment

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Independence (formerly Independence)

Being seasoned cruisers on ocean sailing lines, we were interested to try out the American Cruise Line's style of cruising the inland waterway enabling us to visit seaside towns that we'd never otherwise see on a big ship. ACL charged a much higher price but offered a lot less for the money. We already were prepared for a smaller ship with less amenities but found it even more lacking in service, ...

Constant Problems

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Constitution

This cruise was completely not organized. Room problems, food problems, tour problems, plus bus problems. It appeared on one bus trip that the driver must not of been licensed to drive. I thought we were going to go over a cliff several times. Several crewmembers walked off the ship in the middle of the cruise. From what I heard the cruise director was fired and left the ship. All tours set up ...

Training cruise and worst ship

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Star

We chose this cruise having experienced the lower Mississippi, which was wonderful. We enjoyed the Providence city excursion prior to the cruise. The driver was very knowledge and took us to many places of interest. However, this cruise was disorganized, seemed to be their training cruise and their oldest ship. Crew members were changed throughout the cruise. For example, the first ...

Disappointed

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Independence (formerly Independence)

We chose this cruise because of its itinerary (which was unique and they were good ports that we enjoyed). Unfortunately due to the very poor quality of the ship and crew we were not pleased with the cruise overall. There was poor service, marginal food, dirty and unkept ship and cabins. A couple of people left the cruise after the first 24 hours apparently due to the underwhelming conditions. ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on American Constitution

I haven't been to New England since I was a teenager and my husband never traveled there, so we decided to take this cruise. We prefer small ship cruising -- Azamara, Oceania, Viking Ocean and this was even smaller -- 170 passengers. We stayed overnight in Boston because we have had bad experiences with airlines and missed connections. Much less stress to be at port the day before. We took a ...

A below-average experience at top dollar

Jacksonville to Charleston 12/21/18 I really, really hate being critical or complaining. But a realistic review of this cruise is important for others to read. I should have picked up on the lack of CC reviews of the Independence, but the timing and itinerary was perfect for us. This cruise was beyond disappointing. ACL advertises "perfect cruising". This cruise was not an example of ...

My wife and I sailed on the "American Constitution” on its October 6, 2018 Hudson River Cruise in Owner’s Suite 505. For background information, we have taken many ocean cruises, primarily on Regent and Silversea ships as well as a number of European river cruises, primarily on Tauck ships. For 2018, we wanted to try an upscale North American cruise and our travel agent spoke well of ...
