Wonderful Cruise!

I loved this cruise. All the employees and also all the passengers were friendly and fun to be around. This is a smaller boat so we all got very close during the cruise. The crew all came to know everyone by name. Being on this boat was a refreshing change from the big ocean cruises. Everyone got to know everyone, which made for a great atmosphere. The stateroom was bright and cheerful with ...

Very relaxing felt like a personal yacht more than a cruise ship

Great itinerary.I really enjoyed the ports of call and the speakers. The information they shared really enhanced the experience. The ease of getting on and off the ship and the access to the port of departure was perfect. The food was well prepared and the presentation was delightful. I was able to relax during the entire cruise ( which is very rare for my wife and I ) without feeling ...

THE APPEAL OF THE AMERICAN CRUISE LINE'S 'SMALL SHIP CRUISING'

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Independence (formerly Independence)

My husband and I were frequent ocean cruisers. With the large ships still not operating due to COVID, we decided to try a small ship as a vacation option. We are THRILLED that we did! I knew it was a smart option when we could just pull right up to the ship without going through embarkation with thousands of other passengers. We were shown to our stateroom and were greeted with a bottle of ...

My best cruise experience

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Constitution

The ship is new, beautiful, spacious and warm, staffed with wonderful, friendly people in all of the positions. We had a private balcony, glass-enclosed shower, enough closet and drawer space for two, and it was very quiet. We didn't hear any neighbors. There was a very complete schedule of tours, presentations, and entertainment, with congenial, talented people. The small ship atmosphere of ...

Cruise Safely During Pandemic

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Star

I chose this river cruise line because of safety issues during the Covid-19 pandemic. I was a little stir-crazy from a year without leaving the house and decided to stay in the US after vaccination. This line caters to adults and has very small ships and very strict pandemic protocols. Currently, all passengers must have proof of vaccination and must be tested by medical personnel before ...

Wonderful Week on the Historic South and Golden Isles Cruise

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Star

We have been to most areas of the United States, but haven't spent much time in the Southeast, so we chose to take the Historic South and Golden Isles cruise on the American Star with American Cruise Lines. From the start, ACL took great care of us, with our pre-cruise hotel arrangements and transportation to the ship. Check in was a breeze (even with the Covid precautions the ship staff took) - ...

American Revolution Cruise

Because of a great interest in American History we chose this cruise. Embarking on the ship in Baltimore Harbor was easy, as was check in. Covid testing was performed by a medical professional before anyone was allowed to board the ship. Our cabin was roomy, as was the bathroom. Room service was twice a day. The dining room served excellent food, with local fare being highlighted. Alcoholic ...

My husband and I had a wonderful time aboard the Independence, beginning in Fernadina Beach, FL, and sailing to Charleston, SC. Along the way we had great excursions to great port cities and barrier islands in the Atlantic. Stops included Amelia Island, the amazing Jekyll island, St. Simon Island with its interesting military history, spotting porpoises in the waters off of Hilton Head, ...

Had an absolutely wonderful time on this cruise. The American South is so beautiful and historic and seeing it by river was perfect. The excursions were top notch with interesting and knowledgeable tour guides. Two of my favorites were the Lowcountry Heritage tour In Beaufort and the Secrets of Savannah, which was a night time tour of Savannah. Very easy to get on and off the ship at your ...

Up to expectations

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Star

This was our 9th cruise with American Cruise Lines so we are obviously satisfied with their overall performance. There have been some cruises where they failed to live up to their motto: "Small ship cruising done perfectly". That is a very high standard that they have set for themselves and they have, on occasion, failed to meet it. Their Customer Service team has been slow to address our comments ...
