Expensive Mistake

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Constitution

• The on-board entertainer, part of the on-board welcoming committee, was condescending to and downright rude to passengers, most of whom were senior citizens. • When we went to bed the first night, we had no sheets on the bed, just a basic mattress cover and duvet on top. Our thought was that this was part of the new Covid requirements for ships. • We only had hand towels and no glasses ...

Horrible cruise for the money.

We wanted to cruise the Columbia River & Snake River because of the scenery. Red Lion Hotel pre cruise 1 night was filthy and lots of bugs in our room. Breakfast was very slow & limited to $12.00 unless we pay the extra. Embarkation day was ok. Our room was not clean & no towels until late that evening. After 5 days we asked to have the room vacuumed. It was done the next day. Only time ...

Wonderful trip!

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American West (formerly Queen of the West)

I loved American cruises so much that I just came back from a second one. I took one earlier this year. I felt safe from Covid- everyone has been vaccinated on board, and we all had covid tests before embarkation. That made for a very comfortable, secure trip. It's nice to get to travel after all this time and not feel worried about the virus. The ship itself had a lot of old world charm. ...

Queen of the West is very old equipment

We enjoyed enjoyed exploring the Columbia River Gorge. A riverboat is an excellent way to get to see this part of country. From other passengers that had been on American Cruise Lines I would hear consistently that they had good experiences on some of the companies other trips. However, anyone booking on this ship should be aware that this a very old and barely maintained boat. The boat is ...

Not Worth the Money

The food was poor to say the least. The airline chicken consisted of an unseasoned piece of meat with BBQ sauce poured on top. To make matters worse, it was raw in the middle. The short ribs were cold when they came to the table and heavily laced with fat and grizzle. The portobello mushroom sandwich consisted of two burnt pieces of toast and a mini mushroom in the middle. The baked potato was ...

THIS NEW ENGLAND CRUISE WAS TRULY THE WORST!

We cruised for the first time on American Cruise Lines on their Grand New England coastal cruise for 10 nights on American Constitution. From the first day on board, we knew that this ship was not ready to sail. This cruise was over booked and understaffed. All of the rooms were not ready at the time of embarkation. Some people didn't receive clean towels until the second day of the cruise. The ...

My wife and I took this cruise because it was the only one we could find running post pandemic. The reviews were pretty good but the cost was much more than a larger cruise ship. We thought being on a smaller ship we would get more personal service. Also we thought the ship would be more elegant. We were wrong and new it as soon as we stepped on board. Some of the staff walked off the ship and ...

A Great Puget Sound Cruise

DH and I are from Upstate NY and are in our early 60's. Of course, Covid wiped out two cruises we had scheduled in 2020 and two in 2021; our TA called and wondered if we'd be interested in an American Cruise Lines sailing. She had recommended the Columbia/Snake River cruise, but I saw the Puget Sound cruise and thought I'd like to try it. Covid added some extra requirements; we had to submit ...

We wanted to be on a smaller ship that was reported to be a luxury cruise . We have been on multiple cruises but never a River cruise before . We wanted to tour ports in New England . It never should have gone out . I think it was one of the first ships post covid to go out . Very understaffed . Deeply disappointing for the money spent . I have celiac and spoke with the chef upon arrival ...

American Cruise Lines Star

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Star

The brochure made the cruise line sound wonderful. Paid twice as much as other cruises and received a Motel 6 experience. I cried. Within 2 minutes I realized we had been duped. Asked for an immediate refund. No matter what, no refunds. Old, cheap furniture. The bathroom had a urine smell. There was no headboard on bed. The cheap blinds didn't work. Bolts were missing on window frame. The ...
