Amazing River Cruise

The Columbia/Snake river on The American Pride was truly amazing. We had an incredible crew that took care of us. The speaker, David Miller not only delivered a great lecture on Lewis and Clark expedition, but enhanced our experience by displaying artifacts and foliage of the region. David gave us information about the many locks we went through. Lots of historical facts. Arts and crafts classes ...

In the footsteps of Lewis & Clark with the grandkids

We are experienced cruisers and world travelers - this was our first time with our 11- & 9-year-old grandkids, and first time on American Cruise Lines. We embarked from Clarkston, WA and sailed west along the Snake & Columbia Rivers to Astoria, then back to Portland, OR. It was a themed cruise focusing on the journeys of Lewis & Clark. We had the kids read about L&C before departing - the ...

My first river cruise. Choose Columbia River for the scenery. Clarkston, WA ..to Portland, OR. Travel from Houston to the cruise was a challenge. Easy to get to Portland. Getting to Clarkston,WA. Or Spokane by plane from portland was unrealistic so we rented a car and drove 6 hours. Once we were inClarkston it was well organized. (Car was returned to Lewiston airport hotel provided ...

ACL is Terrible

-Dining service was extremely slow - for all meals. Got tired of hearing "I'm so sorry". Not enough attention to refreshing water or beverages. -Food was better than AMERICAN on Mississippi. Why doesn't kitchen have coffee machine for cappuccino or latte or espresso? -Good excursions - but buses packed with 50 people for average 45 minute or longer rides to sights; ship missed several ...

As a first time river cruise client, we were anticipating a first class experience by the information provided in the ACL print, the cost associated with this booking and the communication with the sales staff prior to the trip. We were super excited to travel the Columbia and Snake rivers to see the scenery and gain knowledge on US history. To say this cruise fell short is being kind! It should ...

We did the Mississippi river cruise with ACL the year before and had a great time. We prefer small ship cruises, especially river cruises. We took a couple of walks around the area of our embarkation port, which was in front of the hotel, and it was beautiful. We disembarked in Clarkston, WA and took a shuttle(a little expensive) to Spokane to fly home, which was one of many choices. Since we ...

We have traveled extensively on European river boats, so we decided to try ACL's Columbia and Snake Rivers cruise. We opted for the pre-cruise Hell's Canyon Jet Boat tour, which was a fun-filled experience. ACL's pre-cruise hotel is the Quality Inn in Clarkston, Wa. and it was an excellent choice because of its location on the river. Also, the meals were good, the rooms comfortable, and staff ...

Most enjoyable river cruise

We wanted to see the lower Snake River and see some sites from the Lewis & Clark expedition. We chose this cruise for the itinerary and were pleased with the choice. The boat is comfortable, especially the Sky and Cascade lounges. The staterooms are a bit dated, but comfortable and we enjoyed the balcony with table and chairs where we had several breakfasts enjoying the sunrise over the river. ...

We had always wanted to do the Lewis & Clark Columbia River Trip. American Cruise Line's American Pride river boat provided such an opportunity. Although the ship is dated and shows some wear and tear, we rate the trip as EXCELLENT!!! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was super and the shore trips fantastic.. This trip is a bit expensive but it is "all inclusive". ...
