We really wanted to do a Christmas Markets cruise and selected AMA based on advice from our travel agent. The ship was well laid out and very comfortable. The staff from the cabin attendant, cruise manager and hotel manager, dining staff, front desk folks were all over the top helpful, caring and pleasant. The food and beverages were very good and offered a broad range in choices each day. The bar service was very good and very attentive. The excursions were broad enough to appeal to all types, very educational and we enjoyed them a lot. Made it really easy to enjoy the vacation as a whole. I was interested in the workings of the ship as well and spent a good amount of time with the Captain understanding it as well. Getting on/off ship before and after was very streamlined and they helped with everything. Will be booking another cruise with them in the very near future! Read Less

room too small for 1 much less 2! hated carpet in cabin vs wood floors lots of complaints from other ppl. Crew not too friendly as was amadera crew who was at your beck and call. Certo looked very cold and uninviting. Lacked ambiance. Certo was too sterile! the pool had no privacy greenery just plexigliglass. The girl pouring wine was very pushy even ppl who didn't want more she insisted. don't try to reinvent the wheel. Serious down grade from beautiful Dera. What a disappointment from last year sailing with Dera. No balcony and those annoying were computer screens. Another complaint by others. We put towels to cover I that didn't work. At The recommendation of other guests we disconnected the computer. This computer thing mad me feel I was being watched all the time very bazaar. No i wouldn't go sailing again. The scheduling of excertions was tight. No time to get ready for dinner another complaint from others. Barbara Milloit sailing with Tim Rada. Read Less

This was a wonderful cruise on the Danube river. Amawaterways had so many thoughtful touches, such as wine or hot drinks and a snack as you arrived back from an excursion. We were so well cared for. Our cruise manager went above and beyond, even finding out what extras we wanted, and making them happen. The staff were all so friendly, fun to chat with, and hard -working. The ship was comfortable, exceedingly clean, and lovely. The food was excellent. We had one friend who has a gluten allergy, and she was delighted by the foods they prepared especially for her. There was a variety of shore excursions. The ones I did, I would love to do again. My favorite evening entertainment was a string group "La Strada". They were amazing. I also enjoyed an evening of local folklore dancing, who transitioned into some great jazz dancing. Embarking and disembarking were smooth and easy, very well directed. They even had a guide at the airport who made sure we got checked in and headed to the proper gate, on our way home. I look forward to traveling with Amawaterways again. Read Less

We have been on AMA three times. Each time has been a positive and worthwhile experience. We stayed on the third level with an outdoor seating. The maître d absolutely made my meals wonderful. Each morning he sat with me to discuss vegetarians for the day, That defines personalized service. Daniel, the chef, took my requests and implemented them into each meal. Wow! They also have a tapas bar during the day for snacks. They were so good. The serving staff were always engaged. They smiled when you came in and knew your tastes. Vesi and Carmen always greeted us. We cam to know them and their backgrounds by the end of the cruise. The cleaning staff kept the room immaculate...never too small a request. Thanks Arid. The cruise manager was exceptional. Each day she managed the tours and was there for any questions or problems that arose. It is quite a job to oversee each tour and the varied requests of the passengers. Kriss exceeded my expectations on a daily basis. The excursions were varied and uniformly had engaged docents. We did tulip time and visited museums, churches, small intimate towns like Bruges and the Reubens House in Antwerp...even Delft and the Hague. I always enjoy background information and the opportunity to ask specific questions. This was handled exceptionally well. Ama seems more like a family unit than a crew. That is what I expect and certainly received on this cruise. You could not choose a better line. Read Less

For comfort, quality of food and wine, friendly and efficient service it is difficult to decide how AmaWaterways could be beaten. The minute attention to passengers' comfort included bringing round steaming mugs of tea when we were on deck on a very chilly morning to admire the most scenic stretch of the Rhine. The itinerary on their Enchanting Rhine cruise is superb, taking in Amsterdam, Cologne, Koblenz, Rudesheim, Heidelberg (or Speyer as an option), Strasbourg and Basel. The guides were entertaining as well as informative and the evening entertainment was excellent, the highlight being a trio called La Strada, featuring two classical violinists. Beer, wine and soft drinks with lunch and dinner are part of the package and there was even a beer and sausage tasting session at 10.30am one morning. Attention to detail includes tailoring each city tour according to fitness levels, with bikes available for the more energetic. Read Less
