We went from Heathrow, there was some confusion at Budapest airport however that was soon resolved and we had a posh taxi to the boat. Firstly the good news, the boat was very clean and the maid service exceptional. The staff were excellent, a tribute to the enforced tipping system which adds perhaps £10 a day to your costs.

We knew going into things that this was a difficult itinerary because of the tides on the river. We found the ship to be clean and comfortable, and the staff were very good. Our cabin (222) was very, very small and a great disappointment. Storage space was limited, although closet space was adequate. The cabin is almost claustrophobic. Desk space is very shallow and the sink/vanity in the bathroom is minute. The ship was kept very clean and the entire staff was very attentive.

My husband and I along with another couple took an AMA Waterways extended Danube cruise this fall, which started far from the Danube in Istanbul and ended somewhat past the Danube in Prague. There were 14 actual days on the ship with an almost total turnover of passengers and some crew in Budapest.
