Too Big to Provide Quality

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Royal Caribbean ships have outgrown their ability to serve their customers. It starts with boarding. We were a group of 12 with 5 rooms. Only one piece of luggage was delivered to our room and that one was after we complained multiple times to various people and were even taken to the luggage room looking for it. The rest of our luggage was found on our floor but no where near our rooms. The ...

What a disappointment; Never again

This was not our first cruise so we have had some experience to compare it to. First let me say I was highly disappointed when they informed us we would NOT be going to St. Thomas island because one of the "pods" had a bearing that may be going bad. Really? That was just the start and the only thing that was preventing this review was the fact that I did not know how to capture soooooo many ...

Shortened one port and didn't go to private island

We chose this cruise for our children and grandchildren. Our stop into San Juan was cut short (this was before all the problems). We only had a few hours there. Then, we never ported at their private island because of a medical problem that forced us to return to San Juan. Most ships can airlift someone off; don't know why RC did not do this. Our best port, the private island, was ...

My wife and I are RCCL and Celebrity fans, so it's painful to report on a cruise that was far below expectations. First, I should note the positives: we decided to treat our three 14-year old grandchildren to a cruise, and, after much hand wringing, elected to book all five of us in a single veranda room -- one of the very few of its type. I was impressed by how well we were able to manage. ...

Did not sail to St. Thomas as planned. Would not allow any refunds.

I choose this cruise because it did sail to St. Thomas. Several days before boarding I found out that they would not sail to St. Thomas as planned. Royal would not allow any refunds or transfers to another ship. They did not even notify us. We found out by trying to book a shore excursion. We called Royal. They would not allow any cancellations or re-book or transfer to another ship. We ...

Fifth cruise with RCI - will be the last

We were a little apprehensive about this cruise ship having previously been on the Oasis and concluded that these ships are just too large and the ratios of staff to passengers is poor generally resulting in a somewhat underwhelming overall experience. However it was a celebration cruise and the itinerary was the reason for joining this particular cruise. We only started cruising 8 years ago, ...

The ship idea with several places like boardwalk, Central Park etc is amazing, but now the ship needs an urgent renovation and make up looks damaged in several places...in my personal opinion from my first travel in RCCL compared to no. Charge the hot breakfast almost 10 usd... Charge all day room service 10 Usd Overcharge in Johnny was cheaper No hot chocolate No capitán ...

Great ship, poor service

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Allure of the Seas

I chose this cruise because I wanted to share the experience of a nice ship and warm weather with a great friend. My cabin and overall experience on board was great. The dining room service was wonderful as was the food. My experience when being off the ship is another story. My first excursion on a glass bottom boat in the Bahamas was terrible. Not only did we see few fish, but I got injured ...

My daugther and I decided to take a cruise over the 2018 Thanksgiving holiday. I had taken several Royal Caribbean/Celebrity cruises in the past, and was looking forward to getting away. This was the largest ship I had ever been on, with amusements one can only imagine. The entertainment was spectacular. We saw high diving that was not to be believed, excellent gymnastic performers, and some ...

It was a company retreat, but we had to pay our own expenses. I will never again cruise on one of these monster ships. We stood in line for two hours just to board. Except for the extra cost restaurants the food was rather ordinary. The shows were crowded and way too loud. We went to one comedy show it was small and intimate. The shore excursions were mob scenes. We had to walk for a ...
