Sailed on the Symphony this past Nov, so I had realistic expectations in these Covid times.
The MDR was two different worlds: The lines to get in were 30-40min 2 of the nights, even with reservations. Once we got to our table, it was smooth. There is a disconnect somewhere. They work so hard, though.
The entertainment was lackluster, in terms of variety. We loved Mama Mia, Ice Games and ...
Embarkation was quick and we were able to get right on the ship. We chose this cruise because we had cruised on this ship twice before and to join friends who had also cruised on this ship in the past. The itinerary was the same as most eastern Caribbean cruises but docked at San Juan at 2:00PM which suited us since we like to go for cappiccino coffee. The crew that we encountered were awesome! ...
April 2022 Timing was right …. It was an ad hogue booking…. Food was poor at few available sources, it was my 3x on the Allure. I found it ok… u make the best of it and enjoy yourself. I in general, was satisfied with the service and the food in the main dining room at dinner and lunch time. The buffet was a hit and miss due to inconsistency in quality, temperature, selection of food items as Well ...
Choose cruise for the Giant Ship experience for the first time... and luckily we sailed with only 60% capacity. Beautiful ship with good design and lots of jacuzzis, plenty of lounges and good gym and sports resources. Biggest let down was food. Love the crew service in the Main Dining room but the Windjammer is average cafeteria food... seems like mostly leftovers and not enough variety. ...
When I research my next cruise, I always tend to go for the lengthy in depth reviews because they inform me the most. I've been on multiple cruises, almost one every year since 2016 and thought it would be useful to offer my input on recent cruising. For reference, I am in my 20s, travelled with 2 "minors" (Put into quotes because they are both over 18 but under 21 so considered minors ...
We sailed on 12/30/21 for 9 days to the Eastern Caribbean. The Allure of the Seas is a great ship and I know Royal Caribbean is doing everything they can to make your cruise enjoyable but COVID has presented a lot of challenges for them. We were suppose to go to San Juan, Puerto and St. Thomas but we did not go to those ports because of COVID. Instead we had a 2 day stop in St. Martin. One of the ...
This cruise started off as a complete cluster at the port in Ft Lauderdale. We arrived at 11 am expecting to board the ship. We were directed to sit down and wait. No explanation and very rude RC staff members. We were sitting in an area that one staff person directed us to and then a very rude staff member came and said you can’t sit here, go over there. So we did. As this area ...
(Royal Caribbean Diamond Plus with 30+ cruises on RCL)
We booked this cruise 6 days before the sail date of 11 December, 2021. Booked a large balcony cabin and very surprised to find one available and the reasonable price so close to departure Once on board it became obvious why. They were excited to get 4200 people, the highest number since the shutdown, on board a ship with a capacity of ...
11th cruise with Royal, Staff and food very good, Home office in Miami is INSANE. Their rules were past crazy! Can not pick up a wrapped butter pat, needs to be handed to you, can not pick up cloth napkin wrapped silverware, needs to be handed to you, took 1 Hour 25 minutes for pre checked veteran guests to board ship with 50% capacity. Did not see the Captain (first time in 15 total cruises), ...
We hadn't sailed on RCCL in many years so were looking forward to sailing with them again. We treated our son and his wife to a cruise and all were excited. However, I have not decided when I will book another cruise. I had no problem with covid protocols and wearing masks. RCCL was up front about it and did their best to enforce it. We all know some people think rules are for everyone but ...
