We went on this cruise because family members invited us. We didn't like the ship at all. It is very claustrophobic and feels more like being in a shopping mall than on a cruise ship. You can't see out when on the main entertainment decks and bars. The food was awful, tasteless and overcooked. Drink service really slow. This was our 11th cruise on various cruise lines and was definitely the ...
My husband and I were frequent, fairly adventurous travelers pre-kids. Of course, vacations drastically change once you have a family. Last year we did Club Med Cancun and it was kind of awful, so we decided to try a cruise this year. We had been on Carnival and Princess before in the before-kids era, but we decided to give Royal Caribbean a try since it seemed pretty family friendly. Traveling ...
First, do NOT get The Key on this ship. It's a total rip-off. There is no "fast lane" access to onboard activities as advertised. You only get one hour of private time on each of The FlowRider, Zipline, Ice Skating, and the Rock Wall. Internet connectivity is spotty - ours kept disconnecting. And the welcome lunch is not worth the overall cost. Next, it's almost impossible to get a ...
I felt publicly embarrassed on our Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas cruise out of Galveston. Our first dinner started off with the waiter saying the “chicken was finger licking good.” When we left the dinning room, we were greeted with passengers licking their finger. So on and so on daily. I complained to the Restaurant Manager about this but to no avail. The last day of the cruise they sat ...
Spent two weeks on Allure starting on May 7th and I'm sorry to say there were many disappointments. Quality & Quantity of food has significantly declined and that was across all venues, esp. the Specialty Restaurants where the prices are way to high. Pinnacles not staying in a Grand Suite or above could not have breakfast in Coastal Kitchen and were allowed to have breakfast in Chops, where the ...
Our first sign that something was amiss was before we even arrived. As we were driving up to the boat, we saw a rusty, grimey mess near the upper portions of the back of the ship. Admittedly, this is on the uppermost floors nearer the smoke stacks, but this was bad even for that location and everyone remarked on it.
The security line was lengthy, but tolerable.
As soon as we walked on the ...
This was our 3rd cruise on RCCL and will probably be our last. We’ve cruised with all the major cruise lines and we were on the NCL Encore just 6 months ago so we have a pretty good recent basis for comparison post Covid.
First for the good. Loved the various neighborhoods on the Allure. This was our first time on an Oasis class ship and loved exploring the ship during the week. We booked an ...
I am a long time cruiser this is my first cruise on royal Caribbean. Service was fantastic but the beds were like sleeping on a box spring. Not enough options for food even buying a food package I was not impressed at all with the food. Food in the windjammer was the same food every night. Not enough sweets after meal. One night I was just looking for a cup of coffee. Nothing was open then ...
We recently returned from a Cruise on Allure of the Seas and were so disappointed, that I wanted to warn others. I am generally a fan of Royal Caribbean, versus other cruise lines, as they always seemed to me to be the cream of the crop in terms of quality. This time, not so. Be forewarned, if you are taking kids under 12, who have not been vaccinated for COVID with you, your participation ...
First I must give this ship, the Allure, high marks on the Entertainment provided, the quality and excellence of the Specialty restaurants and the fact during the two weeks we were aboard this ship we had an excellent room steward, but as you will read there were many negatives that had we not already reached DIAMOND status of Royal Caribbean we might not have taken as many cruises aboard this ...
