Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Been on Allure before and loved the ship! Specifically chose this cruise since over husband’s birthday. Port checkin was a disaster. All computers went down just as processing began with first agent. No one knew what to do. Finally was escorted to the desk agent and she was clueless. Another circulated saying to write down passenger name and cabin number. Then let them board. We walked on while ...

Here is your review: We are diamond club members and had many cruises with Royal Caribbean. On our seven days cruise on 8/28/22, the built-in numbered lock on our original old timer hard shell 31" Samsonite was broken and wouldn't open. The ship maintenance ( 3 men) tried to open it and broke the lock. They wrote the report to the Senior Guest Officer. The built-in lock can not be replaced, and ...

Allure is Too Big

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Overall I had a good cruise with lots of friends onboard. I had a Balcony Cabin on Deck 11 near the forward elevators. My first full morning I went to walk on the walking/jogging track (great). I turned left from my cabin and could not even see the end of hall (aft). I figured that every day I was walking an additional mile just to get to my cabin. I did get my exercise. I did not find the ...

This was my fourth TransAtlantic in the past five years. After crossing from Sao Paulo to Lisbon on the Splendor of the Seas, I was looking forward to experiencing the "mega" ship. Our cabin was a balcony on the 8th floor which was perfect because we always eat in the specialty restaurants. We walked out our door, took a few steps and we were at Central Park On the first day, I purchased ten ...

We have cruised on RCCL 25 times. We have taken 7 transatlantic cruises, 5 on RCCL and 2 on Celebrity. There were some wonderful things about the Allure and some disappointing aspects. Entertainment was spectacular. Best of any cruise we have taken. That includes the Broadway show, the Aqua show, the ice skating show and the headliner shows. The food in the main dining room was very good. Waiter ...

Food and Headroom Lacking

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Even though The Allure of the Seas Ship and employees were fantastic, the food and lack of headroom were below average! They promised me 7' 6" of headroom in our stateroom, we only had about 6' 9" of headroom. Being 7' 2" tall on a 12 night cruise was not acceptable. The food was far below average also. The meat in the specialty restaurants were far below for what I was expecting! Except for ...

A Lot to Offer, but Not the Ship for Everyone

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Background: I have traditionally been a luxury or upper mainstream cruiser, and cruise for relaxation and for destination. Since retiring I have branched out and Royal Caribbean has filled primarily a niche role for me as the line of choice when I want to cruise out of my home port of Baltimore. I am more of a small ship person but was curious about the Oasis class ships. The primary obstacle ...

Great ship, but I need more than hardware.

The difference between RCI and others: Great ships - and you need to take what they offer. So out of 80 cruises only 4 were with RCI: Sorry - but their service level is just not ours. Once in a lifetime I wanted to the the largest ship in the world. But honestly spoken I do not need it. The shows are the best (after Disney) which I saw but that is not enough to keep me loyal with ...

We did the Mediterranean Cruise followed by the transatlantic back to Fort Lauderdale in October/November. In defense of the ship, it is a beautiful ship and has so much to offer the cruiser whether a family or just a couple. On the other hand, it was way too crowded with 5500 guest and 2400 crew. If you don't make reservations in advance, you stand in very long lines for hours after getting on ...
