Our 3 generational family of 11 wanted to go on a mega ship. Some parts were great; others disappointing. The Aqua Theater show was wonderful. The ice show was a disappointment compared to the ice show that we saw on the Freedom in 2020 that used drones. This show was based on the board game Monopoly and was a yawn. It was disappointing that there weren't more variety/entertainment shows in ...
The Allure is a big ship and you need to be prepared for it when sold out like our cruise was. That said RC should not have made the venues so small for the amount of people on board. Time after time you could not get in to bars that we're having entertainment ( I don't mean the headliner shows), people would be sitting on the floor or crowded at the entrance trying to see what was going on. ...
My wife and I are in our mid-60's and are Diamond Members with RCCL. After our next cruise, we will be Diamond Plus. We have been on about every size ship in the RCCL fleet and this was our second cruise on the Allure. We have been planning for a transatlantic cruise for some time, and this cruise fit in perfectly with our time frame and resources. We consider ourselves experienced travelers and ...
First let me start off by saying we did not pay for this cruise. This was an incentive trip from one of my husband's vendors so our experience may be a little different in some aspects. We are 48 years old and were not traveling with children. Therefore I cannot comment on any family activities other than to say we never saw the carousel open, never saw the build-a-bear type store or the candy ...
Booked this trip for my wife's "decade" birthday. Thought it would be a good way to see different parts of Europe. However, a day in each port only gives you a small taste of each location. But that is what we were looking for. I've sailed on Royal Caribbean twice before and three times on Carnival. I found the check in process in Barcelona to be extremely smooth. Short lines moved right ...
This ship is certainly big and there are so many beautiful features to see. The shows are brilliant particularly Mamma Mia but the Ice Games show and the Aqua Show were also brilliant. The food was a little below the quality we received on the Brilliance of the Seas earlier this year and the wait staff were overly attentive, constantly begging you to give them a 10 in the post cruise ...
Allure Review
Transportation - We shared a cab from the Renaissance Barcelona Hotel to the port for only 20 Euros. Great ride at a great price despite the traffic.
On boarding - Totally easy. At the Barcelona port I gave the tagged checked bag to the porter and quickly headed to the RCCL check-in. For Gold members there were very few in line. Post check in but prior to boarding the ship ...
It is 5 AM, and I am in California, but still on Europe time. About 72 hours back, but still can't sleep much past 3:30 AM, so I decided to do this review.
Keep that in mind.
This was my third cruise; second on Royal Caribbean, both to the Mediterranean. I will start by saying my first cruise was about fifty years ago, and such a disaster (think Titanic; I didn't drown, but that was sort ...
The Preliminaries.
TA booked us into a hotel in the Barcelona suburb of Poblenou, 15 Euro taxi from Las Ramblas. Melia was uber modern and very comfortable. The area had two malls for last minute shopping, H&M, Zara, Burger King etc. wife was spoiled for choice.
Had a lovely meal in a local street restaurant on Saturday evening with local families, local food well cooked and at local prices. ...
We enjoyed our trip on the Allure of the Seas. Overall we had a great time, but there are some things we wish we knew before we went on our trip. We did not know about many services, options, and hidden away places until we had been on the ship for 2 or 3 days. Hopefully, these tips will help you on your next cruise...
