We have taken our granddaughters on a cruise every summer for the past 10 years. This was our second time with them on the Allure and they loved every minute onboard! These large ships offer a lot of activities for teens ( they are 15 and 17) and as grandparents, we can keep busy doing our thing knowing they are having a wonderful time. We loved the RC app that allowed us to keep in touch, since we never purchase Wi-Fi on the ship. It's annoying to see so many people who "stay connected" on their phones all day instead of enjoying all the ship has to offer. The Allure is beautiful, just big enough without being overwhelming and the crew is exceptional. I needed medical attention for the first time ever in all my 50+ cruises. Nothing major, just a cut that needed a few stitches. I couldn't get over the facility--fully equiped and efficient. We had a balcony overlooking the Boardwalk. Fun watching the Aqua Show from our room. The food in Americon was perfectly fine. We have a vegetarian granddaughter who is fussy and she ate every V meal offered on the nightly menu and loved them. Even though we have seen all the shows (this was our 3rd Allure sailing), we love Mama Mia, Blue Planet and the Ice Show. They never disappoint! We are Casino Royal Prime, so drinks are free. We are a little disappointed that Video Poker machines in a bank to the left of the bar have been replaced by slot machines (that were always empty) since that's our game of choice but we managed to win and lose and have fun, just the same! We have been avid RCL cruise customers for years, but I am not so sure that will continue into the future. We selected this cruise as a birthday trip for my daughter, The ship looked great and this would be our first Oasis Class ship, well the ship is beautiful but the crew is Rude!!!!!!! . the room stewart was the works we have ever encountered, the restaurant wait team was not interested in providing even basic service. Oh my god was the champagne bar bartenders are unprofessional, they spent most of their time making fun of the customers. I stormed out after they started making pig noises at a overweight lady customer behind her back, and I must admit that several of the passengers were enjoying their antics RCL keep preaching to wash your hands but, we constantly found the public bathroom soap dispenser empty, and the bathrooms were disgusting. We also elected to get the Key program. the internet was worth it but the rest was a waste of money. No priority embankment, but they said there would be, we were looking forward to not carrying around our checked bags, but with how efficient RCL has become with the boarding process it just wasn't needed since our cabin was ready early. The one item i was excited about was the privet time with the zip line, rock wall and flow rider. well don't get to worked up, all of the private time is extremely early in the morning or during dinner. and there are not the many times included. The first night when the bags were dropped off they just dropped them anywhere in the hall, not by your stateroom but anywhere there was space, well we got to meet all of our neighbors waking up and down the hall looking for bags. Hey her is one we would yell out, then the nice ladies down the hall would yell back, do you see ours??? Nope. the question, So is auto tipping leading to less service? Read Less

Cruised Sept 23-30 Chose this cruise because it was my first time on Allure and the dates really worked for my schedule. The service model on this ship is broken and they could really use a week off to retrain everyone (not going to happen). I tried to write my experience in 3 categories. NEGATIVES 1. Upselling is out of control. Once you step foot on the ship you're being up-sold if you take a spa treatment, sit in the main dining room (while you're eating) or just going to get a drink. I understand being hustled in the various ports of calls because in most cases we are dealing with people who see us as well off compared to their circumstances, but the hustling aboard the ship to enrich an already wealthy corporation that I have already paid thousands to have a relaxing time, is offensive. 2. Took me a few days to realize that the bar folks did not need to present a white ticket for each drink and that this was a cheap ploy to get an "additional tip". This practice was pervasive. We had full drink packages and based on our sea pass cards the waiters knew that. Every drink includes a tip but the ticket has a space for "Additional Tip"????? I guess this is RCCL way of trying to make the tipping process transactional instead of tipping at the end of the cruise. I made a point of tipping at the end of the cruise the three people who did not present these tickets. 3. Some of the folks in the food and beverage service could really use some training on how to relate to guest and just good table manners. This was so pervasive I have to conclude that it is a lack of training issue POSITIVES 1. Pool life guards were very attentive and watchful during EVERY shift. This did not vary from person to person. It was consistent. 2. Room Steward was friendly and cleaned my room like magic. He cleaned twice per day without ever knocking on the door. It just happened. 3. Getting on and off the ship was relatively painless Read Less

Wanted to go on a big ship and always liked Royal Caribbean. First 2 days on board the main upper deck dining room they only opened one side of the entire dining room (1/2). I asked a dining staff officer, he said they were getting ready for lunch. OK, so why was the same side closed during lunch. They lied and thought no one would notice. It gave me the impression of a lazy and uncaring dining room staff starting with the officers and ending with the waiters! Very dishonest and lazy staff. We had to wait in line daily to get into the top deck dining facility for breakfast and lunch. The tables were almost always dirty. I did not see the staff cleaning the tables expeditiously so others can use the table. If you wanted to sit down you had to clean your own table. Again, gave the impression of a lazy and uncaring staff. One night I went to the main dining room on the 4th floor and they treated my wife and I as if was not welcomed, we were a burden. First, they had us wait for a table than said we had to go to the 6th floor dining room for a table. I understand this is a busy time but no excuse for making me and my wife feel ignored and unwelcomed. The waiters need to be more decent and polite. No one came to introduce themselves as our waiter. I had to stop a waiter to get their attention for anything. Each time I needed anything I had to stop a waiter. Then they acted like we were bothering them. One female waiter even was very rude when I asked for more melted butter for the lobster tail. I was so upset when we left there that I told another officer outside the mess about this and nothing happened. I also went to the front customer service desk and complained again. The next day after we came back to our room there was a plate of strawberries covered with chocolate with a business card. No explanation or apologies? By the way, they strawberries were not good. What about a hand-written note from the head waiter saying he was sorry! Oh, I know, he was too busy. On another night, I witnessed an older woman being ignored also. She was asking for a smaller spoon for the small child she was with and the waiter just blew her off. She could not leave the child alone at the table to go find the spoon. However, the waiter didn’t care, he walked away. If he did not understand English, he should have asked another waiter for help. I had to go and find a small spoon and give it to the older lady. I guess I should be paid for my service. I did his job. Another night my wife and I went to shop during the purse sale. The person that helped us was friendly and convinced my wife to purchase another purse. When we finished Carolina (Royal Caribbean employee) gave me a “VIP” card for an additional discount in the wrist watch store. She told to ask for Carlos. We did and he was busy with another customer. Since he was taking a long time he asked the other employee to help us. When I found a watch I wanted (Citizen), I showed him the card Carolina gave me that night and asked him about the additional discount she had told me about. He said No, the watch had been discounted 35% and that was it. Ok, but then why do the other Royal Caribbean employees tell you about the additional discount? Again, with the lies, this time to get you in the door to spend more money? That’s the ships theme? I also saw that there was no cleaning during the cruise. In other cruises I have always notice someone in all areas constantly cleaning the floors and bathrooms and general facilities. On this ship I did not see that emphasis. It seemed dirty at times. Several bathrooms were not cleaned hourly and I had to go elsewhere to use a decent clean toilet. This gave me the impression of a lazy and uncaring staff and management. I guess you cannot expect more when a ship’s officer lies to you! The ship screams attention, from the worn-out seats to the stained toilets that were not cleaned when needed. All in all, the ship was not in good shape. You could tell that there are areas that need attention. It needs to be refurbished now. This ship was one of the worst ships I have seen in my cruising. I have cruised with Carnival, MSC, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. This cruise, ship, and staff have soured my opinion of Royal Caribbean. If I was to rank these 4 companies, Royal Caribbean would rank last! This cruise was by far the worst of all the cruises I have been on! Read Less

For our 25th anniversary, we decided to go on a week long cruise from Fort Lauderdale FL to West Caribbean because it seemed fun for us to spend time together. On our 3rd day, my daughter felt like she had slight fever and we didn't have the thermometer so I took her to the medical clinic and had her temperature taken to see if she's actually sick and needed resting before spreading it to others. The lady at the clinic there told me that my daughter has 100 degree fever. I said "thanks" and said "we don't need any treatment and she will just need to rest until recovered as this is the cold/flu season". That lady told me that "unfortunately she has fever and we have to test her for flu." I said I don't want to pay for it. She said we have to go through the process and made us fill out paperwork. They tested and said she had a flu. They quarantined her in her room for over 3 days. No one there told us anything about the charges until the last day when I saw high medical charges on our bill. I went to the customer service desk to complain and was told to go home and call customer service for help. I went home with the high bill, called for help. It took them until today, Feb 14 (2 months and a week later) to call and let me know that they had decided to not credit any penny for the medical bill or for locking my daughter in her room for over 3 days. We all didn't want to leave her side that long while she's in her room for those days so we kept checking on her and didn't really do much for those days at all but that's is not anyone's fault. My daughter is also vegan. If you are a vegan, there's almost nothing but salad on the ship for the whole week. She lost 6 lbs after the week-long cruise (and she was already very thin to start with). We paid a lot of money for the nice ship "Allure of the Sea" to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We could all tell that a lot of people were very sick with cold/flu on the ship and none of those reported to the medical clinic so none of them got charged or locked in their rooms except for a very few honest people like us. We wanted to know if we should stay away from getting others sick and went to check to make sure that she had fever before we told her to stay rested away from people. That's what happened. Meanwhile, all other sick people went around and got all of us sick. Not fair at all. Not to mention, there was no room cleaning for 3 days because my daughter was sick. We still gave the full daily tips for our cabins for the whole week. We just wanted to get the credit for the unwanted medical test bill and possibly some for the three days that my daughter got locked in her room which is fair. Royal Caribbean didn't credit us for messing up our celebration. My daughter didn't get to see the Caribbean islands and she was so upset that they charged her full week of cruise and even the unknown medical cost. We live in Florida and have a lot of friends here who go on cruise all the time. No more Royal Caribbean cruise for us from now on. Some tip for you cruisers: Do not go on the cruise during the flu season because there are a lot of people with flu who do not go to the medical clinic and those will spread it to you if they are not careful. And if you GET SICK on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, THINK before you CHOOSE EITHER going to the clinic and pay for the high bill even without your consent OR do not go to the clinic and enjoy your resting to recover from anywhere on the ship just away from other people. Apparently the second option is what Royal Caribbean wants for making more profit from sick and honest people. Read Less

I am now spoiled. The Oasis class cruise ships are incredible. Every future cruise ship will be judged against this ship. My only criticism is that the pizza from sorrento's is not very good. I am a bit of a tech weenie. and this ship had the best internet service of any ship. definitely get the internet service(VOOM). Turn on WIFI calling, put your phone in airplane mode, turn on WIFI and connect to VOOM. You will now have the ability to call and text anywhere on the ship. We had a party of 13 and this proved invaluable keeping in touch with everyone. This ship is excellent for families. The family facilities(daycare and activities) are the best of any ship that I have been on. Central Park, boardwalk, and the royal promenade are incredibly spacious and airy. Although there is plenty to eat, there seems to be a trend of more and more things costing additional on cruise ships. On the boardwalk, both Johnny Rockets and the mexican restaurant cost additional. Hamburgers and Tacos should not cost more. Central Park is almost all specialty restaurants. Room service(except continental breakfast) now has a 7.95 per order fee. Read Less

Royal Caribbean us not what it used to be, Royal was known for great shows, great food and great entertainment for adults and Kids, but what I see know if Royal Caribbean us big in promoting sales of items, now you in addition to what cruise fare, you have to pay for Soda, for rooms service, Royal became a company that nickels and dime for everything but the worse part about the vacation was the entertainments. I have taken my daughter on Norwegian Gateway last year and their kids program was great so I decided to take her this year and what I thought it was one of the beast ship in the world the Allure of the seas to celebrate her Birthday and I told her that if NCL had a good program for kids, Royal Caribbean would have a much better program, so she was so excited to go however she was very disappointed. My daughter is 11 years old and for an 11 year old to be completed bored on the ship that has a lot to say about the program. The program had a very limited activities, the room was over crowed and they had the same boring games day after day, there was no talent show, to karaoke no culinary event for kids nor other interesting activities for her, she broke my heart when she told me that she was so bored that she wanted to go home and my question was,,,, What happened with Royal Caribbean. She was even bored in the cabin as the program for kids on the TV was very repetitive and did not had too may options for her to watch, she told me that she did not want to come back to another Royal Caribbean Cruise because she do not want to be bored on her birthday vacation, not that is very sad! The other horrible experience is that the ship was over crowed, I cruise before on the Oasis of the Seas and although the ship was full, there were so many venues during the day and night that people were very busy in different activities and we did not feel the ship was over crowed but on the Allure of the Seas everywhere we went it was lines, even at the wyndham buffet, the lines were crazy which I never seen before, usually if you want to eat something fast, you go there, enter the café get a plate, get your food and find a place to sit and that’s it, at the Allure it was someone finding seats for people so that created a huge lines to go into the wyndham, this was too unpleasant. The pools were also over crowed, we could not even stand on the pool although the pool is supposed to allow only 23 people but it was way more than 23 people on the pool. The ship did not have any energy or the energy that we were a costume from previous Royal Caribbean cruise. The food was average just like the one in Carnival Cruise, it was not the delicious food that they used to make before, however the service of all the Staff member was great. I am not sure if other people that I spoke with are going to send a letter or even take a time to do this survey but they were saying that same thing I was thinking, Royal Caribbean has become a Mall with a lots of specials for people to buy stuff, Royal is not what it used to be in the past that had Great Food, (unless of course to pay) extra Great Entertainment for adults and kids, I do not thing with so many options I have that I will go back to one of your ship for a very long time. Dissappointing would be the sentiment that comes to mind when I think of this particular cruise. Consistently long food lines for dining of over an hour with "on my time dining" (what a misnomer!), slow service once seated largely due to too many tasks assigned to the waitress/waiter (they no longer have servers for drinks like Disney), and the food isn't quite what I expected. We are perhaps spoiled with a chef school in our town and expect all dining experiences to measure up. The Windjammer (their buffet restaurant) looked to be full of rehashed food from the day thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. worse ever customer service, dont want to resolve the problems, looking for someone to blame it on. Very unclean some of the public areas, specialy in Aqua theatre, got oil stains on our dress and its not coming out. We booked a cruise on RC because our relatives from another country wanted to try it. I was afraid of the size and the reputation of this ship and I was right! The stateroom still had socks under the bed from the prior habitants! The steward was never around. The food in the main dining room was just ok. It was obvious that a lot of it was prepared off ship and heated before served. The room service breakfast was cold and terrible! The casino was dirty. Empty drink glasses everywhere. Ashtrays never emptied. You have to reserve seats for every show. Never got into the Comedy shows. The pool area was over crowded and couldn't find any lounge chairs. I vowed never to go on RC after our last experience and I should have stayed firm. On top of that. my wife and father both caught the flu on the ship and had to go to the doctor when we got back home. Too many people! You have to wait in line or push through crowds everywhere. We chose this cruise to celebrate my parents 65th Wedding Anniversary. 24 family members were traveling for this wonderful occasion. The Allure was a big disappointment. Yes, it is very beautiful to look at and it has many great activities and shows, but the quality of service was terrible. We had problems with our cabin that had to be fixed repeatedly. We had to ask for shampoo, conditioner, tissues, etc. The dining service was really lacking. You can't reach Guest Relations by phone, they never answer, and trying to talk to them in person means waiting on an hour line. We were really looking forward to the OceanAria show. The night of our reservation the show was cancelled due to technical difficulties, totally understandable. The next night we waited to see the show for an hour, to find out that they had to cancel due to weather conditions, understandable, but why keep us waiting an hour to find out. But our real frustration came with the photo center. Since we were celebrating an anniversary we wanted to buy many pictures. Travelers beware! Many of our pictures didn't make it into our folders, but other travelers pictures did. The photography staff were out right rude about helping us with picture packages. I couldn't buy the digital package of my family if I wasn't in the picture, so I couldn't add a picture of my grand children to my digital package because I wasn't in the picture. That had me steaming. They actually lost money on me because they made the whole process so difficult. Bigger isn't better. Stay away from the Allure Read Less

We are older so enjoyed the lovely sitting and lounging areas especially in the promenade, Central Park. Love the evening dining, like going on a date every evening!the daytime meal offerings are so varied and everywhere. There are so many choices available. It was a great challenge to stick to our diet. Impressive cleanliness all around especially in dining rooms and washrooms. The crew were very friendly and helpful, catered to all our requests . We will surely plan another trp with all our children and grandchildren as soon as our schedules will allow.. Cruising with RCL is a must at least once in a lifetime! My granddaughter had a great time at Dream Works Dining Experience with the characters and her Adventure Ocean Aquanauts experience as well as the Ice Games Ice show. My grandson enjoyed the boardwalk flying horses and the splash pad on the upper deck. My wife and I liked the miniature golf , the adult comedy show with Troy Thirdgill, the strolls through the Park. So I have had the past 5 days to really think about the cruise we just took. This is our 3rd cruise, but our first with Royal Caribbean. The first 2 were with MSC, which we really enjoyed but the kids (13 & 15) really wanted to do one of the big ships, so we decided to spend the extra money and go for the Allure. After reading many reviews we were so excited for great food and great service and a great trip. What we got was very mediocre. Everything started out great. Check in was super, we arrived at 230 to no line. Walked right on. Our room 12729 was in a great location and had a good amount of space for 4 of us and we had a great view of the Aqua theater right from our balcony, also the beds were very comfortable. We also had a bonus area 5 ft from our door was the back of the boat with 10 lounge chairs, which is open to everyone, but no one was ever around. Our steward Brendan was awesome. Anything we needed he was always there with a smile. Dinner the first night was My time dining. Service was pretty good and food was good, nothing special, but enjoyable. Our weather the entire time was beautiful. On day 2 we stopped by the teen club just to check it out for the kids, there were a few activities on the daily compass that the kids thought sounded fun. The guy there was nice, the area was a good space so the kids were optimistic and so were we .On our last cruises there were so many activities around the pool and in the evenings, even group exercising. That is not the case on Allure of the Sea. The daily activity sheet shows lots of events, but really there is not much. The cruise directors entertainment staff was AWFUL. They really are not interested in having a good time with the guests. They are not cheerful or even pleasant. On day 2 we decided to do the scavenger hunt at 2:30, no announcement that it was happening. So we left the pool and headed down to Dazzles which was the meeting spot, no lights were on and there were about 14 people there and it was 225pm. 230 no activities person, 235 no activities person at 238 a woman walked in with no smile, no hello she put her bag down and said sorry I'm late i was at another activity as if we were bothering her that we were there. Really awful attitude and VERY not friendly. She handed out papers with questions said get in groups of 6 and go. We added another little boy to our group and off we went. We came back (in first) and she still seemed annoyed. This was very typical, if you passed any of the staff on the boat they didn't say hello or smile they just talked among themselves. Dinner the 2nd night was Izumi. Very good. The hot rock was great for our son to cook his own steak on. The show Chicago was very good. Day 3 the pool is very congested, since there is a giant space in the middle for the Boardwalk and Central park. 4 small pools 1 kiddie, 1 sport( although only 2 events were there the whole cruise) and 2 general pools. Lots of chairs for sitting not lounging and then lounge chairs on lots of different ledges with no leg room or space to walk to get to your seat. There is a small stage which had a calypso band every so often. We were really ready for fun at the pool but there really was very little, on our other cruises there was stuff going on all the time, on this cruise you really had to search it out. There was one activity at the pool and we did take part in it. The Flowrider was good and so were the bartenders and music on the back deck. We went to Bingo and there are only 2 choices $34. or $67 which to me was a bit steep for 4 games. Again the staff was an issue, besides Gill calling crazy slow he was on stage with the microphone and took a 3 minute phone call while we all just sat there and waited for him to finish. Our first stop was Ladabee. We went to the beach for about an hour, the kids and husband went on the coaster and said it was fun. We went back to the boat to take advantage of the extra space by the pool. Turns out that was what most of the other cruisers did too. Our other dinners were giovanni's, food was very good and 150 Central also good the 6 salts were delicious. The my time dining remained ok and lunch at Park central was very good. Windjammer for most breakfasts just because it was easy, had an omelet one morning from wipeout and bagels at park central another morning. Our excursions from jamaica were great. I booked them on my own. We used Courtney Taylor tours ( I definitely would recommend them) and went river tubing and then lunch and then river rafting on the Martha Brae. If we go back we will definitely hit the Blue Hole. Cozumel we went to Mr. Sanchos beach club and it was very fun. Great pool, great staff and fun water activities. The comedians on the boat were really funny, and the ice skating show was entertaining. You know when you go on a cruise that you are going to pay for extras but it was very very noticeable on Allure of the Sea that you were going to pay for EVERYTHING. When you look at the daily schedule almost every other event was one that cost money even a cappuccino at the end of dinner. Every night RC had at least 10 photo areas to take pictures. Each picture cost $26. They really pushed purchasing those and announcing every shopping event, but yet they never announced any other event. Disembarkation was a nightmare!!! It took close to 2 hours to get off the boat. I understand it was a large boat, but by that time we were so ready to be off the boat that 2 hours was just not acceptable. After going on Allure we probably won't go a cruise for a long time it really was not a great cruise or worth the money spent. Read Less

I booked this trip with my sister, who is a Platinum member and serious cruiser. We had a very small baloney suite on the 12th floor. No toilettries were provided, no pens, paper or turn-down service was offered. The fridge was prepacked with RCL drinks, for purchase, leaving no room for anything else you may want to cool. The toilet was leaking all over the place upon our arrival and I think the worse part was the attitude mbof the staff who automatically blamed you for anything that went wrong. Our call to member housekeeping was answered by a immediate lecture on what we should not flush, even though we just walked in the door, and had not used the facilities as of yet. There was no offer to change our room, just a promise that someone would come fix the problem. That began our week long vacation and set the tone for our adventure with RCL. If you like to eat good food on vacation, you must buy it. Nothing is included, other than mediocre cafe food in a very limited number of places. Even the grand dining room offered very small bland fare with better options for purchase only. If you want to eat late, buy it, no midnight buffets here. But from the minute you walk on to the ship, they are lined up trying to sell you spa packages, photos and 'specialty' dining packages. Want good coffee? Buy it, with a 18% gratuity added, at Starbucks. Not only was I dismayed with the constant hard-selling techniques used, but after falling and injuring my ankle in the fitness area, once again, the first response by the fitness manager was, didn't you see the sign? Well, I admit I saw no sign as I tripped over a gap in front of a treadmill. No offer to help as you would expect out of common curtesy. I will not travel with RCL again since no amount of money could make that experience worth it. Read Less

But by Evening, as we were not seeing our 2 Checked In Bags, our excitement was turning into frustrations with not having clothes for Evening dinner and nothing to sleep in. We had to skip Evening dinner at main dining room and instead settle down with some quick bites. After enquiring with Stateroom Attendant latter in afternoon, we were told that Bags will be delivered by 7.00 pm. But when they were not there at 7.00 pm we were then directed to Security on Deck 2 and then to Guest Services. On our first day we spend minimum of 2-3 hours being in line for Guest services, shuttling with security and Stateroom supervisor, etc to see what happened to our Bags. At around 09.00 pm were told that they could not locate our Bags and we need to file Lost Bar Report and they then have 24 hours ETA to track those. After 24 hours (next day) they still had no clue on where our Bags were and even today (12/26) they still have no clue on where our bags are. RCI provided some support with Laundry coupons/shipboard but on first Laundry they lost my Husband T-shirt and lost of 2 dresses , though they found it after a day but we were scared to provide them with our remaining clothes for laundry because we only had 2 pairs of clothing and they did not have basic needs (under garments, etc) not available on shops onboard. All these 7 days on ship we had to survive with a pair of undergarments washing them and using them. RCI provided some onboard credit but shops onboard have limited choices and so were expensive that we could only buy 2-3 pieces of clothing with the Credit they offered. That too there was nothing available on those shops onboard for my 7 year old daughter, so she has to manage with 2 dressed that we managed to put in our carry on. We had our first opportunity to find some clothes for daughter on port in Jamaica on fourth day and had to spend our half day trying to find some shops where we can buy clothing for my 2 daughters. Being a tourist spot they were primarily selling T-Shirts and those they had were expensive but we had no choice but to buy it so that at least we have clothes to change and still try to enjoy our remaining trip. For next 7 days we had been chasing Guest Services, State room attendants to see where our Bags were -- The purpose of vacation was to break from daily grind but instead this became our grind. The ship was clean and Cruise shows and activities were good, State room attendants were courteous, food was good but overall our experience became frustrating with after having spend so many hours planning for the cruse and shopping for the various formal and causal nights. If you ask our daughter, on how was the Cruise -- The answer will be it could have been better. I felt like I had spend $5200 to buy myself a load of frustrations . Events while on boarding our luggage - We took Royal Caribbean Bus service from Fort Lauderdale Airport to Port Everglade. We were told by RCI employees/agents handling the Bus transfer that we only need to ensure that Bags are on Bus and tagged with Baggage tags and they should be on our room by 02.00 pm. We ensured that the bags were onboard the Bus and were unloaded on Port and then Porter were supposed to load it to Allure of Seas. But something seems to have went wrong on how RCI handles luggage and we never received our luggage on ship and still its mystery for RCI. We latter came to know that there 19 different Checked Bags that were lost that day and RCI has no clue on where it went to date. Lesson learned Carry your luggage to ship yourself. RCI have no mechanism to identify your luggage and no process to track it if gets lost. Sorry for the lengthy comments, hope our experience will be helpful to future Royal Caribbean Cruise travelers. I am a senior citizen and was travelling with my family and a very dear friend, who is also a travel agent. My friend and I shared a cabin. The cabin was so small, we kept bumping into each other. There was no drawer space and I had to live out of my suitcase the entire week. I had rented a scooter from Special Needs, because of the size of the ship. The scooter kept breaking down and I had to call for assistance to have it moved and i had to walk great distances to reach my destination. I went through 3 different scooters during the week. We didn't even disembark in Cozumel, because I did not trust the scooter. Going through security in Falmouth, I was on the scooter and was ushered thru a special section to be patted down. The agent took the camera which I had in my pocket, to put through the scanner. In all the hustle and bustle, they never returned the camera to me and I was ushered out of security. When I realized my camera was missing, I called the port agent and they advised they would look for it. Naturally, it never showed up. It was a pocket sized digital camera, brand new, a gift from one of my sons. One of my daughter in laws was quarantined to her room for 36 hours, because of the stomach virus going around the ship. I found the ship to be much too big and much too confusing to maneuver easily. Everything was crowded and a lot of the passengers were pushy and inconsiderate. At times we had to go past rows of staterooms in order to get to a portion of the common areas of the ship. All I can say is I would never go on a large ship again. The ship itself is beautiful and a work of art. I found the food was very good and the service was excellent. Waiting on lines was the pits. The shows were fantastic and the productions amazing. The headliner show we had reservations for was cancelled five minutes before it was due to begin, due to a medical emergency in the audience. One side of the theater was closed off and hundreds of people were ushered out the other side. The show was rescheduled for the following afternoon and was excellent. Everybody's prayers went out to the ill passenger and their family and friends and did not complain about having to cancel the show. Even tho we had made reservations for the shows months in advance, we still had to arrive 45 minutes prior to show time in order to get decent seats. Would I recommend this ship to others? A very definite no, unless you like rude people, large crowds, confusion and frustration. If it wasn't that I was travelling with family, the trip would have been a complete disaster. Would I travel Royal Caribbean in the future? Probably not. Read Less
