The Allure of the Seas provides a never-ending supply of things to do with the many entertainment venues, restaurants, and pools to occupy your time. The cabins are of excellent quality and are larger than one would expect. Entertainment aboard the Allure is also worthy of a letter home. The main production of Mama Mia! is a true spectacle and is the best at sea! The staff onboard was incredibly friendly and helpful and left nearly nothing to complain about. Dining onboard is of the highest quality with the offerings of venues like the famous 150 Central Park, Chops Grille, Giovanni's Table, Sabor, and more. The Allure being one of the Oasis sisters is on the larger side for a cruise ship. However, a common misconception is that the ship is overcrowded. This is not in any way true. The Allure at no other time than embarkation can feel this way. The Allure truly is a ship for everyone and deserves to be renowned for being the best in the Royal Caribbean fleet! Read Less

We chose Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas because of its size, we had a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise, one thing that I have notice on our first port at Nassau, Bahamas was the weather, there was a slight drizzle of rain during the first 4 hours after the ship has docked, we booked an excursion for the Atlantis paradise resort in Bahamas through the RCI website, we were gathered at the Amber theater and an announcement was made by the tour excursion organizer of the RCI that some parts of the Atlantis Resort will be closed to guests and we were provided an option to either cancel and be refunded of our booking or we can proceed despite of the inclement weather, the rest of the port destination was excellent because it was all sunny. There are a lot of fun activities on the ship especially if it is cruising and at the sea all day, it was a good thing that we chose an interior stateroom, because we would just visit our room during nap time, most of the time we were outside of our cabin room, I would suggest to book a reservation for the my time dining, otherwise you would end up queuing during dinner at the main dining room, service were all excellent for our stateroom attendant Ashton and to our waiters for the dining room Sanket and Micky, & Tony the trio were all Indian National and Ramil a Philippine national, we ended up sharing a small amount of gratuities for those guys for their excellent service despite the fact that gratuities was all inclusive on our cruise package, ports and excursion were smooth and easy, we have just waited maybe at least 10 mins after the ship has docked and we went all the way to explore every port. We are a family and 3 grown-up kids with party of 5. Overall, we would love to booked our next cruise with Royal Caribbean for a Mediterranean cruise for a 7 or 8 days cruise. Read Less

After looking into many questions before I leave for the cruise, I feel compelled to share my first cruise with our friends. After much deliberation we decided that some of the 50th birthday celebrations would be Cruise (for the first time). The date of the cruise was determined following family constraints for the Passover holiday of 2019 in April. Since this is the first time we make a cruise and after a thorough examination it was decided to go on one of the best - a large ship of Royal Caribbean. As stated, there were time constraints and therefore the cruise was chosen with the Allure Of The Seas, https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-sh…/allure-of-the-seas, Western Caribbean track, 7 nights with 4 anchors in NASSAU- BAHAMAS, COZUMEL-MEXICO, ROATAN-HONDURAS, PUERTO COSTA MAYA-MEXICO and 2 DAYS ONLY, Departure from Miami. Now it was left to choose which agency would invite the cruise. There are many opinions whether to order through an Israeli agency or through a foreign agency. After a thorough and thorough examination, I found out that the company Crozit, https://www.cruiseit.co.il/, with the agent Orit Cohen Rochov gave the best offer. As I mentioned, it was decided to order with a minimum risk and therefore the room with balcony to the ocean, on the 11th floor in the center of the ship (room number 11590 D2). The room is spacious enough, a double bed and a sofa bed, a shower with excellent water flow and a balcony facing the sea, television, storage closet, 110 and 220 volts power sockets. It is difficult to describe in words the experience of sitting on the balcony while sailing and sleeping with an open window and hearing the waves coming back - an experience! The ship is huge, really a floating hotel. Many different types of rooms, countless dining rooms, restaurants, cafes, 2 promenades with vegetation, casino, swimming pools, Jacuzzi, climbing wall, Omega, surfing and more. 2 notable restaurants for light meals: 1. Park Caffe - Salads, sandwiches, cakes and flag sandwich with roast beef 2. The pizza restaurant The ship has a wide range of performances, including Mamma Mia, acrobatic show with oceanAria, Ice Ice show, Blue Planet, Headliner Showtime and more. About 60-90 days before the cruise, the possibility of planning the cruise is open on the Royal Caribbean site, ordering an hour for dinner (17.30, 20.00 or "on my own time"), ordering the various shows on the ship and booking excursions at the ports. For convenience and schedule of performances we chose the time 20.00, we got a regular table in the dining room on the 5th floor and regular waiters. In accordance with our needs, we purchased in advance and at a discounted price Classic Soda Package, which includes soft drinks and cola and an internet package VOOM Surf + STREAM Voyage Package - 1 Device Additional alcoholic beverages, coffee, shakes and more can be purchased. It is also possible to purchase a 10-cup card or a 10-alcoholic card. Each room has the option of bringing 12 bottles of 17 oz and 2 bottles of wine to the ship. In the boat, at various meals, you will be served free glasses of water and juices. The ship anchored at the port of Miami in Terminal 1 of Royal Caribbean, we reached the port of the car rental agency in the city and left the port to the airport on a trip with uber. The check-in and check-out of the ship is carried out with remarkable efficiency with no queue and speed. The attractions we did at our ports were: NASSAU-BAHAMAS - taxi ride ($ 10 toward) Cabbage Beach on the island island Paradise Island, a beach with soft white sand and good water for bathing. You can rent 2 sunbeds + umbrella for $ 20, and there are street vendors selling drinks. You can walk to the beach of the luxurious Atlantis Bahamas and even enter the hotel grounds and be impressed by it. COZUMEL-MEXICO - A fun day of sailing to spectacular blue lagoons and dive snorkeling, booked through http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.net/cozumel-snorkel-tour-res…, at a cost of $ 50 per participant. ROATAN-HONDURAS - We booked a day trip to the island with a local operator named Francklin Gálvez, francklinalexisgalvezbonilla1@gmail.com, a nice guy who tries very hard to please the guests he accompanies. Franklin charges $ 20 per participant for a full day of pick-up and return from / to port and travel according to an agreed plan. ($ 10) Visit the Chocolate and Fun Factory at the stunning beach of West Bay Beach (one of the resorts, plus sun beds + umbrella $ 15) PUERTO COSTA MAYA-MEXICO - We ordered a $ 50 golf car from MAYAHUAL Local Golf Car, https://costa-maya-golf-cars.negocio.site/, marvin1907@yahoo.com.mx and drove to the beaches of the nearby village of MAYAHUAL Docking Port . In retrospect it is unnecessary and you can reach this coastal strip with a local taxi. The coast of the Costa Maya disappointed. Hope this summary will help others. I'll be happy to answer any question. Yaari Read Less

The Allure of the Seas is unreal! I traveled with a group of 31 ladies and had an absolute blast. This ship’s size is mind-blowing, and the amenities, service, and activities were top notch! Although we weren’t able to take advantage of all the dining & bar options, we were very pleased with the food & drinks where we did. We thoroughly enjoyed the shows on board, particularly the OceanAria show in the Aquatheatre and the Blue Planet show in the Amber Thestre. The ports were great even though I’d previously been to all but Nassau, Bahamas. It was wonderful to be able to soak in the large hot tub late at night before bed. The Dreamworks parade was a very fun surprise, and I danced to my heart’s content at the various themed dance parties on the Promenade. I would highly recommend this ship for a super fun and action-packed vacation, but it can also be very relaxing as well. It’s all up to you how you want to pass your time on board. Read Less

We chose this cruise because our son wanted a BIG ship and we wanted a nice Caribbean Cruise! We actually booked this later than we normally would, but we decided to take advantage of our son's college break. We know these family vacations will become further apart as he gets older. That aside, my husband & I took our college age son and his best friend on this cruise. First, this was the first cruise that Royal Caribbean enacted the KEY program. I accidentally found it while going over the excursions we had booked a few months before leaving. If you are not familiar with the Key program, it's a program that you pay for to get extra benefits. Like being one of the first on the ship, with a delicious lunch at Champs Grill on day one. So while we got to board early, we had a fantastic time roaming around the almost deserted ship and had this great lunch. We also got special seating at all the entertainment, free upgraded Wi Fi and we passed up the lines while being escorted off the ship. Easy! We were told that out of the 63000 passengers on board, there was only 300 key programs sold. I hope it is a program that they keep around! There are no words to describe this ship. There is so much to do on board, for all ages, that you almost don't want to get off at ports! The ship is lovely. Central park both day and night is amazing. It really does feel like a walk in the park and you totally forget your out at sea! Feel like cotton candy or ice cream? Stroll on up to the board walk neighborhood. The Merry Go Round is something, and there are games for the littles that are there. Also on that deck is the Aqua theater. What an AMAZING show. All the entertainment was top of the line! We saw the show Mama Mia! and there really were guest dancing along! It was great! All of the entertainment was wonderful! We had an ocean view balcony which was quite lovely! We booked the boys into a balcony over looking Central Park. They sat on that balcony and watched the character parade. Even though their balcony was basically an interior one, there was no noise coming into the room when they had the door shut. Both rooms were very clean. The bathrooms seemed a bit smaller then we had expected, but that could be because everything else seemed so over the top! Our room was down the hall from our son's room, so we had different stewards. I m very impressed that the steward for the boys room came and introduced himself. Both cabin stewards were wonderful and attentive. The ports are fine. We actually have been to most of them before, so we just stayed on board and enjoyed the ship. The FOOD! Everywhere is food! We did the breakfast buffet in the morning. Lunch we went to the cafe's in Central Park and we had dinner every night in the main dining room. Carlos, our head waiter was fantastic. He went out of his way to suggest something, or get things that weren't listed on the menu. The boys loved the late night availability of pizza. What most 20 year olds would love. We really enjoyed the attention we received on this cruise. We have been on Royal Caribbean before and it was nice. This was awesome! My husband & I relaxed and enjoyed the pool, bar, spa & casino. The boys loved the ports, food and things like rock climbing, ice skating & zip lining. This cruise is perfect for families. A multi generation family cruise! Read Less

This ship is fantastic. It has everything you could ever want. The accommodations were very nice, the crew was always friendly and helpful, and the food was phenomenal. We were traveling in a group of 15, from ages 16-75. There was something for everyone! We love the early seating dining, as we were able to sit together, and had the same fantastic waiters each night. All the shows were fabulous - we each had out favorites. (Mine was Blue Planet) My son asked to use a conference room for a family presentation, and they were very accommodating. The room was well equipped, and we enjoyed the evening. We booked all our own excursions with on-site companies, and had a great time at each port. I like the on-site excursions, as they are less expensive, you see more off the beaten path, and they are much small groups. My only complaint was the spa. It was a HORRIBLE experience. I booked a mother-daughter massage with my 16 year old daughter. My masseuse spent the first half of the massage telling me about all the things wrong with my body, and spent 10 minutes after the massage pressuring me into buying products I didn't need. I was more stressed when I left than when I went in! I would NEVER book a massage on a Royal Caribbean ship again. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to our parties schedules around the end of the year. This is the 3rd time we've cruised the Allure and each time gets better. We booked 5 of us into a Royal Family Suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. This gave us the sky class. For those who have never experienced a suite class if you enjoy cruising try it at least once. You won't go back. Everyone on the ship was friendly and accommodating. We didn't eat in the Windjammer or the MDR; instead we booked 4 night specialty dining and dined the remaining nights in the Coastal Kitchen. We did not experience a bad or even disappointing experience anywhere. If there was any issue it was the pool was very cold. Of course we were cruising in late November so that was expected. Terminal A during embarkation was a breeze. Less than 10 minutes from shuttle to the ship. We arrived 1/2 hour after the rooms were available so we went right there and settled in. Luggage arrived just a couple of hours later Debarkation was a breeze too. The porters (and unfortunately the dispatcher from the shuttle service need to be better trained. There was no signage for the shuttle areas and it was very confusing. The dispatcher (from JetPort parking) kept stating we should go to area 7-8 but that was for private cars. The only areas that were actually marked was for buses. Read Less

We have sailed numerous times on Royal and this was out third on Allure of the Seas and we are booked again in April. What keeps us coming back? We absolutely love Central Park, it is beautiful in the morning and the evening. We love the freshly repaired salads and sandwiches at the Park Cafe. The diving show Oceanaria in the Aqua theater never ceases to be amazing! We read all the negative reviews about the crowds at the Windjammer but we have never waited more than a few minutes to get in and usually are able to walk right in and find a table. People complain about lack of variety from day to day but there is so many choices, you certainly could choose something different every day. My only complaint is the coffee is not great there and way too strong. Breakfast is great at the other free options... Johnny Rockets, Solarium Cafe, Park Cafe and Wipeout Grill. Chops Steak House is nice but not as nice as one on Oasis of the Seas. We had drink package which includes Evian water but many bars said they did not have any, they did if they looked in the cooler on the swim deck but some were not interested in looking. The hot dog stand is pretty plain unless you want a sausage other than a regular beef, hotdog (which you can find up in the Wipe Out Grill) They should offer some chili, onions cheese. I personally eat my hotdog plain but most do not. This was out 17 th Cruise, 10th on Royal but we are going to focus more on Celebrity because I am sick of the nickel and dining on Royal. Charging for the popcorn at the shows seems silly. Read Less

Cabin: We were in 7149, interior basic room. Very nice. DINNER (main dining): I really enjoyed it. Some people have more sophisticated palates than I do but for a regular Joe like me (my wife and I are school teachers), it was very nice. Excellent and unique desserts, varied menu. Even for picky eaters you had options....there was a steak, spaghetti and salmon on the menu for every evening meal OR you could venture out to something else.....lot of options. LUNCH (main dining): Recommend. Basically like eating dinner and food is better than other included options on ship. Same service. BREAKFAST (main dining); Two good options here. Could do a la carte OR buffet. Both here nice but I liked the buffet here and it was better than Windjammer (which was also good). OTHER FOOD OPTIONS: Dinner - we ate in main dining every night Lunch - Roast Beef at Park Cafe is outstanding. Windjammer buffet was really good - had many options and many types of food (Mexican, Indian, etc) included which was nice. Pizza at Sorrentino's is ok -- nothing special but a nice treat at night. Breakfast - Johnny Rockets (only included for breakfast) was a nice change of pace and good fun. Fun to eat there. Entertainment Mamma Mia - excellent show. Good singers, interesting story (that many people already know) - well done. OceanAria - incredible performance. Balancing act was incredible and diving from the heights they do suggests madness.....but fun to watch! Blue Planet - Very impressive. Definitely a must see. Ice Games - a bit odd and theme didn't seem to fit, but excellent skating and a lot of fun How to Train your Dragon ice show - a lot of fun, definitely one for the kids but I enjoyed it too Move it, Move it parade - last night on ship in the Promenade - CAN'T MISS for kids but just a fun vibe all around Movie Premiere - had a premiere of the movie "Like Father" on the ship in the Aqua theater. Cool watching a movie with only the sky and sea behind the screens. Had free popcorn....fun night with the family. Comics - both guys were very funny.....definitely a good night of entertainment Headliner - Ronn Lucas --- excellent, veteran comedian -- if you have not heard of him, think Jeff Dunham but with one puppet. Really good. Service: First class all the way around. From cabin stewards to servers, as good as I've ever encountered at sea (8th cruise) Ports/Excursions: Nassau - went to Cabbage Beach. Take water taxi (more fun). Nice beach, simple day Cozumel - went to Chankanaab Park. Economical excursion ($21/person). Has a pool, free Sea Lion show, exhibits (alligators and others) included. Solid snorkeling with rocky area (be prepared) but also included chairs and umbrellas for nice relaxing day. Caution: all-inclusive with food was NOT worth the expense (extra $14) as food was not good, but if you are a drinker (we are not) it might be good value. Roatan- Did tour with Bodden Tours. Private driver, went to Monkey/Sloth location (which was AMAZING!) and to the beach. Driver Kenton was a superstar - highly recommend. Fun trip. Costa Maya - stayed in port but port is really nice. Good pool, free dolphin watching, mini snorkel area, nice shops. Excellent drinks. Sons went to Mayan ruins.....said, in their words, it was "AWESOME" (except food was weak). OVERALL: Allure is an incredible vessel, bottom line. We had a wonderful time and would do this ship again in a heartbeat. Read Less

The cruise was booked one year in advance. We had a group of approximately 25 people. Thus far it was the best cruise my friends and family had experienced. We were on the 8th floor, very convenient to the Windjammer, to the Boardwalk just cross the Central Park and you have access to both side of the ship. There is food everywhere, we spent alot of time at the pizza (Sorrento) almost every night after 1am, they close at 3AM. The food was great, the enternatainment was so much fun. We had 2 specialty dining, Steak and Italian, the portion was a great size. The shows were very entertaining, loved, loved the Aqua show, very impressive. We rock climbed, the kids tried the boarding. There is so much to do but if you want to relax there are places to take a break too. The pools area was large, there are so many pool chairs, there is no need to wake up early to grab a seat, there are so many around. There was pool volleyball which the kids played for hours. There was pool excercise which gave you a time to dance and workout in the pool, that was fun. The room attendant was very detailed, and he made sure our room was organized and clean. We had a balcony stateroom, we loved it, my adult daughter ended up staying with us, so there were three people and it was comfortable for all of us. We booked our own shore excursions, it was great and the kids enjoyed themselves. If you decide to check out the gym, very clean, many machines to work out, I went once, would had gone back, but I was having too much fun. So far the best cruise so far, we'd definetely do it again. Seven days was not enough to tour the whole ship, we'll be back. Thank you Royal. Read Less

This was our first cruise, so we were a little unsure of what to expect. We traveled to Fort Lauderdale, arriving the day before departure. This was very helpful and relieved any stress of the missing the boat. We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton cruise port. The staff was extremely friendly and although the pull-out couch in our room was not comfortable, they made efforts and gave us a complimentary upgrade for our return stay after the cruise. The cruise itself was fantastic. We found the onboarding a bit confusing. The lines were divided by color, but no mention of any color on our boarding passes? Also many of the cruise review websites had recommended bringing a powerbar. We only learned after that this was restricted and ours was confiscated. It was a hassle to retrieve it, so we just left it behind to be discarded. We were blown away by the food in the main dining room. Fantastic service except for one night. Our waiter seemed very interested in his other regular tables and since we did my time dining we didn’t develop a relationship with one specific individual. Our room attendant was very friendly. Only complaint was one morning a fre days in I did not have any small bills to leave him extra. He called me aside and pointedly asked if he had missed anything or if I was unsatisfied. This did make me feel a little uncomfortable and obligated to continue leaving extra cash every day. Maybe it would have been better to leave it all at the end? Teenagers (16 & 17) loved the sports activities and enjoyed the teen club on most nights. Drinks were even more expensive than I had heard, mixed drinks were $15 USD. Wine also very expensive and only a few choices by the glass. I didn’t get the drink package. I had only 2-3 drinks per day including wine with dinner, so still saved money. Kids chose internet ($265 for two devices for week) over a drink package, it was a good choice. They drank ice water instead of pop all day. We took the web advice and arranged our own shore excursions. Best was Roatan Eco Tours for snorkeling. Best service and experience ever for snorkeling from Alex (owner) and Javi (shipmate)! Highly recommend!! Nassau and Cozumel were great. Booked Atlantis and beach excursions myself instead of through RC and saved hundreds of dollars each day. Costa Maya was disappointing. Just a man-made Caribbean village. Spent an hour and went back to ship. Did the express disembarkation process and we were off the ship, through customs and in a taxi in 10 minutes. Overall a fantastic experience and we will cruise again. Read Less

The entertainment was amazing and diverse enough to suit every member of our group. I saw everything from broadway worthy performances to side splitting comedy shows. There was ice skating, zip lining, flow rider and fitness center for the more aactive and adventurous. There was also load of live music and late night clubs to entertain. We even had a chance to participate in a flash mob. There was no young children in our group but I saw plenty activities they were involved in. The teens in our group were so engaged that we hardly ever saw them except for breakfast and dinner. There was even time for a spa treatment. We could have spent the entire time without ever having to leave the ship. The staff went above and beyond to make out experience positive. Our basic inside state room was surprising spacious and well maintained. The food in the dining room and restaurants was sublime. The wait staff learned our names and preferences from the first night and had favorite drinks ready the next night as soon as we sat down. The Ports were okay for a few hours if you are into shopping or signed up for a ship shore excursion. Personally I thought was more activity to do on the ship. The only sour note was take there were a few nights where there was plumbing issues between 2am and 5am and that guest service had long lines dues to reduced staff after 12am, even though hundreds of guests were still active at that time. Magic tricks by Dennis each dinner. Hospitable and took time for us each meal. They made it special! We loved Washie Washie! She made it fun and we won’t forget her! Entertainment could have been more family friendly for big shows each night. Mama Mia was too risqué. We needed more big shows that were wholesome each night after dinner. Ice rink was very cool feature. Diving show was a neat experience as well. Cupcake decorating was too over the top for children. It needed to be a simpler experience. Our family stays together each day and we would have loved more all-family-together activities. Boardwalk and Central Park were really cool parts of ship! Food was very good and plenty of it. Fantastic cabin, food, activities, and shore excursions. This was my first cruise ever, and I was not disappointed. We took shore excursions to Atlantis in the Bahamas, Stingray City in Cozumel, swimming with dolphins in Roatan, and exploring the Mayan ruins in Costa Maya. Every shore excursion was well planned, and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The cabin was serviced twice each day, and the staff went out of their way to provide great service. They really paid a lot of attentions to details. The activities and shows were mostly excellent quality. We especially enjoyed the ice show and the high-diving aqua show. I rode the zipline and the Flowrider, and I climbed a rock wall for the first time ever. The current pool was also a favorite. The only downside to the pools is the number of people using them. The only issue we had with the cruise overall was dealing with the crowds, although I suppose it is to be expected on such a large ship. The food and overall dining experience was the best part of the cruise. We received superior service in the dining room every night, and we tried several other places for breakfast and lunch around the ship that also provided excellent food and service. They were happy to provide accommodations for our vegetarian/vegan travelling companions. Last but not least, we were travelling with our younger grandchildren who absolutely loved the Adventure Ocean program, giving their parents a chance to enjoy other activities. Overall, we had a great time spending our week on the Allure of the Seas! Read Less

Don't miss the Gumbalima preserve tour. As for dining, we were a family of 15 and were treated quite well. We had two tables and the wait staff was exemplary. With almost 6000 passengers on board most venues were never crowded. My 22 year old granddaughter was chosen to model jewelry in a fashion show and it was the highlight of her day. I enjoyed the total experience greatly. Everyone I spoke to was of the same opinion as me. Royal Caribbean has many bells and whistles that others do not have. The shows, parades, and other entertainment venues were quite enjoyable. A lot of gun for my family. We choose this cruise because of the ship and some of the ports of call. The Allure was magnificent. We had a really great time. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make you happy. The food was great and a nice variety of anything you could want. We will definitely be sailing with Royal Caribbean again ! The rooms were a nice size, the balcony was great to have over the water. We enjoyed the Aqua shows and the parade. The pools were great and not to bad with crowding as they have several pools and hot tubs for you to choose from. The wait staff were really nice and would bend over backwards to get you whatever you need. The ports of call were good. We really enjoyed Cozumel Mexico, we did our own thing and did not go through the ship for our excursion which was fine. Read Less

We had a group of 21 people, several families of relatives. A few children in 8-17 range, several kids in the 18-20 range, and adults in the 40's-80's range. We had 4 scooters in our group, so those that have been on cruises before know what a challenge in certain places like elevators that can be. Our family had been on the Allure of Seas last year, and loved it. For such a large group, Royal Caribbean did great job in accommodating our various needs, things like dinner seating, entertainment, excursions. I would say having been on the ship twice, I can see some minor signs of natural wear and tear on the ship from first time we were on. But overall, they have maintained the ship pretty well considering the volume of people. So to keep brief, couple comments on main things..... 1) Rooms – Rooms were fine. Their handicap accessible rooms have lots of space which is really nice. Bathrooms are big for cruise ship. Their availability of outlets is not greatest in rooms. If you are like me and have multiple things to connect (ie. battery chargers for phones and cameras, etc.), I would bring a multiport USB outlet plug if you have one. We had one significant maintenance problem in one room where toilet would not flush. After 3 visits by maintenance at one point it started literally gushing out water of the side of toilet and wouldn’t stop. After third visit, eventually replaced 2 major parts in the toilet system and fixed it. Lucky the handicap rooms have a large floor drain, so water was contained. If it was a regular room, may have been bigger problem. We actually got visit by a ship officer to apologize for the issue, and a bottle of wine showed up at the room for the inconvenience. 2) Handicap stuff – If you have people that have issues walking long distances, recommend a scooter. And you can’t get them on board. You have to reserve through 3rd party before the cruise. RCI has 2 vendors they use. We used Care Vacations both times. The scooters we had this time appeared to be brand new. They are the Go-Go portable scooters, which my wife has one at home. They have it ready in your room plugged in, just leave it in there when you go home. You are allowed to take them off the ship which we did multiple times. The on/off ramps are not the best built for scooters. When you get to the pointy peaks on the gangplank the low clearance of the scooters often causes problems getting stuck. Getting on/off elevators that are often “full” is always a challenge with scooters. Helps a lot when you have aggressive walking person with you to hold door open and make space for you. Handicap rooms have zero entry showers with a seat and adjustable shower head which are nice. Handicaps have their own line through xray security checkpoints at ports similar to airports. Cozumel had really nice taxis that are vans that have an electronic lift on the back, will lift you right up and in the back of van while still on it no problem. Nassau port has some pretty crappy sidewalk conditions in couple spots along the shopping district, have to be careful. Costa maya was great because port shopping area looks to be new and very well paved. The pools have a ledge around edge you can sit on, and then a high flat area that you can sit on that has maybe 6” of water. But don’t count on bringing a float to put in water, rarely enough room to do that. At port terminal getting on first day, we had some issues with finding a wheelchair assist for someone to get up the gangplank into the ship. We had requested one in advance, but when got there we got different answers from different people on where to find it. In end, we got one. Normally, they dump you on deck 5 of the ship and leave, but you don’t have access to scooters until room is open. So we talked to the assist person and he was nice enough to leave the wheelchair for us to get around as long as we returned it back to the gangplank by certain time. Also, of note, getting off the ship, there were only 2 elevators to get down to baggage claim, and a lot of wheelchair bound people. we waited for only about 15 min. But more came after us, and I am sure they had to wait longer. So don’t count on fast exit out to baggage claim if there is a line there. 3) Excursions – only went on one with RCI, the BOSS adventure in Roatan. Was really nice trip out on boat, well organized and done, the divers did good job keeping people in area and taking pictures. The scooters were about 10-15 feet deep, and could see pretty clearly. Highly recommend bringing a Go-Pro in a waterproof case, the divers were nice enough to take from me at the end and take pictures with it for me. They used fish food to draw a lot more fish to the scooters and was pretty cool. We went at 12:30 so didn’t have to get up early for breakfast, and still had time at end to shop a little before having to get on boat. We also made reservation on our own in Cozumel to Mr. Sanchos beach resort which we have been there before. Highly recommend if looking for a fun day at beach. Inexpensive, includes unlimited food/drink, chairs, cabanas, pool w/swim up bar, and access to rent waverunners, a float waterpark, etc. Food is awesome. 4) Food/drink – Just couple pointers. You can order as many things off the dinner menu as you want. You are not limited to one appetizer or one dinner entrée. The waiters will get whatever you want, as they are highly motivated to get good reviews from you for promotions. We would often combine things like beef entrée with lobster tail or fish for surf/turf combo, got multiple lobster tails on that day, double orders of shrimp cocktail, etc. If don’t drink much alcohol but like soda/smoothies (ie kids particularly), highly recommend drink package. It also includes all the specialty coffees and unlimited bottled water as well. And includes soda cup to get soda/water beverages at machines. Cheaper to wait for discount online and get in advance. If you share one package for 2 people, which we did, make sure the package sticker they put on your seapass card is the person that will be ordering and getting the drinks the most. The best smoothies can be found in the spa/fitness center café. A lot of people don’t realize this exists because they don’t exercise during cruise. They have some fresh fruit they can put in smoothies (not just the sugary stuff), and they also can make veggie and protein smoothies. Also, love central park café. They make fresh pannini and breakfast sandwiches, fresh salads, serve specialty coffee there, and also have to-go stuff that you can just grab and eat anywhere or put in refrigerator to eat later. Yogurt parfaits, fruit cups, etc. We also ordered sushi in advance at the Japanese place and picked up to go and eat as appetizer at our normal dinner. 5) Other – We got a 4 license VOOM internet/wireless package in advance when discounted 30%. (cheaper that way). We then shared that with 2 families, so one adult and one child each family could be online same time. This enables you to communicate by text when you are organizing things and looking for people. Made it way easier to find the kids or tell them to meet somewhere. Is well worth it. Only takes one time of walking across the whole ship multiple times looking for someone to realize should have gotten the package. With a large group like we had, helps a ton to coordinate people. Highly recommend reserve entertainment times in advance if it works for you. Don’t waste time on board having to stand in line to reserve or wait in line at standbys. There is a card room on deck 14 front side that is great if you like to sit and play cards or games. We were there often late at night. Need to replenish game supplies, bring your own cards if you have. Entertainment was great, high quality. If adult, absolutely should go to Quest game, is only one time. Picture ordering system works really well. We combined best pictures together and ordered one package as a group made cost way cheaper, like $3 per print. Also, when leaving the ship we used our extra luggage tags with the later number on them and gave to everyone so we could just eat breakfast in am together and not have to rush. And then our luggage was all together at the later time instead of being spread out and all over. Read Less

OMG, everything on this ship was so amazing. There's so much to do and see, this was my family and I first time cruising and we decided to cruise on the Allure of the Seas we're all completely satisfied! We sail to Costa Maya, Cozumel, Mexico, Nassau, Bahamas, and Roatan. This was the largest ship, it had everything you would want or need, they had all kinds of shows to see, parades, scavenger hunts, etc. and all types of music such as Reggae, Disco, R&B Motown, Karaoke, Rock-Roll just to name a few. You could go to the nightclubs, spa, there were bars everywhere many restaurants and so much more. My kids learned how to Salsa and loved it, they had rock climbing, zip line, flow rider and party all night long we just couldn't get enough of all the different things they had to offer. Our balcony cabin was spacious, everything was clean and our cabin steward was awesome and always there when we needed him. As for the food, it was fantastic you could eat at Chops, Sorrento's, Rita's Cantina, Johnny Rockets, Giovanni's just to name a few and the chefs on this ship was phenomenal what else can I say. Other than for you to go on a cruise and see for yourself. We're planning our next cruise already and can't wait to try other things because we didn't get to do everything we wanted to do, just way too many choices. Loved it. Read Less

Our family enjoyed a week of togetherness that felt perfect. We were able to do our own thing, yet come together when we wanted. The ship is amazing.....sooo much to do. The sheer size of the vessel made for very comfortable cruising, with very limited motion throughout. We all ate and slept great. We even had a fair amount of exercise from swimming, running, volleyball, and walking all over; especially through Central Park! I must say that I would like to alert management to launch an employee engagement effort. I am very interested in how employees 'feel' about their employer and I am disappointed to say that many (not all) of the team members did not seem engaged. When I spoke with them about their jobs and their leadership, they were cautiously pessimistic. RCI has too much going for it to allow a poor culture to grow. RCI - thank you for helping our family to have the best vacation EVER as a family. Read Less

This trip was coordinated by my wife to celebrate her graduating from college with a BSN. She chose to do the Western Cribbean cruise. It was a great cruise to say the least and everyone that went was motivated to go on a future cruise with RCI. We did not book any excursions through the cruiseline due to our budget already being tight after purchasing flights and the cruise itself. We relied on the locals of Nassau and Cozumel for shore excursions, which were great. We booked a snorkeling and zipline excursion in Roatan and an all inclusive excursion in Costa Maya that included all available water activities, food, and drink. Totally worth it. The only downside at Costa Maya was all the sea grass that had been washing up ashore. The excursion folks offered a full refund to those who wished to cancel it, but everyone kept it and enjoyed it nonetheless. The embarkation and disembarkation from day 1 to day 7 was very fluid, no issues. We tried the new process for checking in our luggage and chwcking in for our flight theough RCI and it worked out wxtremely well. We also tried the App to expedite our passage theough customs at our return and it saved plenty of time. I would recommend those options if they are available. It cost $25 per checked baggage on top of whatever the airline charges and it is all charged to your stateroom account. So very convenient for us that traveled in a geoup of 5. The RCI app also was a good took to have during the cruise because all the info you need is on there, including a map of the decks and locations of all the venues and a daily itinerary list all that coukd be filtered down. On oard at every elevator lobby there was an illuminated map and an interactive touchscreen map to help you find your way, among other things (like a huge tablet). RCI made our cruise such an easy experience and made it more enjoyable. We look forward to our next cruise and hopefully are able to book an excursion or two through RCI! Read Less

Lots of entertainment and Activities for any age. We were never bored. The ship was always very clean, from the pools, the floors, to the bathrooms etc... The staff were very attentive and friendly. Our cabin was always clean and well maintained by Bruce. The excursions were amazing. We went to Nassau, Bahamas,Cozumel Mexico, Roatan,Honduras and Costa Maya, Mexico. The food was excellent and hot with a variety of plates and deserts. Our waiter Inyoman and his assistant Zhang did an excellent job. They were extremely attentive to us and we were always pleased with everything. We enjoyed different shows every evening. They had Hispanic music, which captured my attention. My husband was very impressed with the organization and activities of the Allure of the Seas. He wants to plan another cruise in 2019. Next cruise, I will bring my 8 and 10 year old daughters, my mom, 2 sisters and some friends. Read Less

We cruised with a total of 22 people (friends/family). Great time! Cabin, food, entertainment...all good. Atlantis was a very cool water-park (expensive for a water-park, but if you've never been there, it's worth the price of admission to go at least once). (Bahamas) Swimming with the dolphins was great for me and even better for the wife & kids (Cozumel) 2 Complaints: 1. The beaches in Costa Maya were terrible...sea weed everywhere! I later found out that this was not a fluke (it's been that way for a long time). A heads up from Royal Caribbean would have saved us a lot of hassle. If I'm ever there again, I would do the water park. 2. Zip-lining at Gumbalimba Park on Honduras was awesome! The tour that followed was unforgettable (photo ops with spider monkeys and giant birds). However, about half way thru the zip-lining experience, the "guides/safety personnel" decided to keep about 30 people on an elevated platform for over a half hour. No one had their safety harness secured during this time and the platform was rated for fewer people than were present. Fortunately, I wasn't in need of a restroom during this experience. There were more than a few that were not so fortunate. It was very hot and humid as you would expect for being in a rain forest, but to be crammed onto a platform designed for maybe 20 people, unsecured, in that heat for as long as we were, made most people very irritable to say the least. Overall, it was still well worth it to me (my kids agreed, my wife...not so much). Read Less
