The itinerary was great, Haiti, Jamaica, Cazumel. All stops had plenty of things to do, we chose private transfers to the local beaches and were not disappointing. Did not take excursions as there were pricey and would take a long time sometimes to get to a destination. Traveled with kids under 12 and they were never bored. Kids club was somewhat small but kids stayed there for a hour or two every day. Clean room with nice amenities, we had a balcony which was great as we enjoyed fresh air every day, sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. Food was good, we ended up eating at Windjammer all the time as it was more convenient with kids. Main dining room food exactly the same and the service was somewhat slow. Long wait for ping pong tables (there were 6) as many teens would hold them for more than an hour, but there were plenty of other things to do. We would do it again! Read Less

Embarkation was a breeze, barely any wait. We had sailed on Allure before and were still impressed with the ship, despite it's age. There were some areas that needed some attention - Freestyle machine outside Sorrentos, men's restroom on pool deck, but overall well maintained. This was our 9th Royal Caribbean cruise and have to agree with the common trend in reviews that service and quality are in a downward trend. We sailed Anthem last May and saw significant cuts on this sailing both in amount of onboard activities as well as food in the MDR. If you're a fish/seafood lover, you'll be very happy with MDR menus, if not, you'll probably get quickly bored. Both starters and desserts only had one or two changes each night. We have always enjoyed the MDR in the past, but will most likely start frequenting specialty restaurants. Our dining staff was also very slow for just a table of 4. We were seated right inside the door and could see that the majority of diners arrived after we did (traditional seating) and the majority left before we did an we aren't slow eaters and ordered as soon as waiter arrived. Entertainment as usual was very good. Was disappointed that our reservation for the Comedy Club on the final night was moved to the main theatre instead of the intimate Comedy club venue - very different experience. Debarkation was also a breeze. Read Less

All the employees were very friendly. Everyone seemed so nice. Kids absolutely loved it! Too many people for me. I’ll try smaller ship next. All the shows I went were great. But was disappointed and surprised that there weren’t any specific kid focused shows. I suspect Disney does. Many of the shows are appropriate for kids but aren’t kid focused. There were a couple of dreamworks parades. Having said all that, the kids had a blast! They asked to go to the kids club. They loved the aqua deck, and the food. Sorrentos was a hit. They loved the windjammer and didn’t care much for the min dining at night. The food was always well presented, but didn’t always taste very good. Food was anywhere from OK to good in the main dining. We didn’t try any specialty dining. All in all I would definitely recommend this cruise to everyone. Definitely worth the experience. Something t do for everyone, although I don’t think you can do it all in a week:) BTW, this is like going to Disney. You don’t go to relax but to have fun and make memorable memories. Now I need a vacation from my vacation:) Read Less

Our 2nd cruise of the Allure. We were very impressed the first time and knew what we would be getting. No way around it, drinks are astronomical. However, we drank when we wanted to and we were not even close to the price of two people getting a drink package. I wish RC would just include the gratuities in the price of the cruise. The food was phenomenal with every type of food imaginable. If you go to the windjammer at peak time and have a large group, you will wait in lines. But we often went in on our own in groups of 4-5 and just watched for someone to get up. Sometimes we took food from the windjammer and found a nice spot on Central Park or at the pool for lunch or a quick bite. Dining room experience was amazing. The staff go out of their way to accommodate you in every way possible. Can't choose between two dinners? Try them both. The entertainment was great - as good or better than a Broadway production. We made all of our reservations for the shows ahead of time. Even if you have reservations, you must arrive at least 15 minutes prior - they let those with reservations in first, so if you are late you will lose your reservation. As far as the pools, yes, they get crowded early, especially days at sea. They do not seem to enforce not saving of chairs, so that is exactly what we did everyday to make sure we could sit together. There was always at least two of us that were early risers. I highly recommend booking the excursions directly through RC. The benefits are guaranteed safe, luxury transportation. RC know where you are at all times. You should also try to book these ahead of time as well - not only can you save some money but they sell out quickly once you are on board. The most vital part of vacation is having an open mind and letting go a little - be kind and strike up a conversation with people. You never know who you might meet! Read Less

I was invited as a casino guest first thing the Royal Suite was so beautiful will do it all over again. The genie was the best felt like a real genie make everything seem effortless and easy. Charlie our Genie we wouldn't have had the vacation we had without him. Shopping on this ship was fun green and prince jewelry shop was great. The food was very good highly recommend 150 park restaurant was fancy but the food was out of this world. We are an LGBT family and we felt very welcomed, the staff was super friendly always looking to say hello make sure you are comfortable and feeling relaxed. The spa was beyond amazing we had to massage therapist Arlene from philipines and another lady from Macedonia they treated us phenomenal. The kids activities were great we had our two year old with us and she loved dream works shows and decorations thru the ship and kids play place. The kids water part was more designed for 7-10 year olds but we still had fun the baby pool was not fun enough for our 2 year old. Almost forgot our suite had a Jacuzzi so worth it. Read Less

My wife and I did our first cruise in 20 years last year on Jewel and lowed it enough to want to take our kids this year, but wanted a ship with more to do. After going on this ship, I cannot see us going much smaller, but may try a freedom class, since it still has some of the amenities, and can sail to better ports. The shows were incredible. Mama Mia was my favorite (and surprisingly my teenage sons as well). The dive was incredible and Blue planet was good. Ice games was okay. For dining, we planned on doing the WJ many times, but were not impressed the first couple of times, so never went back other than to fill our pop cups a few times in the evening. The MDR was decent (not something to write home about, but we always found something to eat, and never went hungry). The biggest let down overall was the desserts - liked the creme brulee, but otherwise, the others were lackluster at best. Probably good, or we would have gained even more weight. Service - We had incredible service everywhere we went. The only exception was dinner on lobster night, but we chalked that up to all the extra people in the mdr. I wish they had more people manning the next cruise desk, as we might have done some, but every day was booked solid, which seems short sighted imo. The Cruise Director - jimmy is incredible. The biggest complaint we had overall, is there was so much to do in the evenings, there were typically 3-4 things going on that we would have like to take part in, but couldn't do them all. The on-air club is very good, but was often over crowded without enough chairs to go around. During the day, there was much less that appealed to us, as we were just not into the things around the pool for most part. Read Less

We chose this cruise without knowing much about the ship. We did not spend much time in the cabin but it was cleaned twice a day with new towels and such. Our room attendant was very friendly and while we didn't ask for much, I believe he would be more than willing to accommodate our needs. We ate at the Main Dining Room for 6 of the 7 nights, breakfast once and lunch on sea days. The staff was always pleasant and we fell in love with our waitress. Plan on two hours for dinner but if you have a show booked, you can always ask and they had us out of there in plenty of time. Entertainment was OUTSTANDING!! We went to every show except the Headliner who was a Las Vegas singer-we heard he was awesome but decided it wasn't for us. Mamma Mia was amazing, OceanAria was jaw-dropping, and Blue Planet kept you wondering what was coming next. We got there early for Ice Games and were in the front row. Such talent! The bathrooms and public areas were always exceptionally clean and the staff were always friendly-greeting us with a smile everywhere we went. Its hard to go hungry with all the great-and free options. I can't wait to go to on the next cruise and we would book the Allure again in a heartbeat!!!!! Read Less

My wife and I cruised with my daughter her boyfriend and our son and his family. We have curised multiple times with Royal Caribbean and each time the included services go down. They seem to get their hand deeper into my pocket each subsequent cruise. I mean really, do you need to charge for bottled water? The quality of the food was not great. The buffet was similar to going to the Old Country Buffet. Lots of food and variety but not great. The main dining room staff and service was outstanding but again the food was not great. We got lobster tails one night and it was not cleaned properly. Tasted like ammonia. Also, stay away from the "fish of the day". I ordered it 4 out 5 days and it was good only once. I had NY strip steak one night and it was the thinnest strip steak I've ever had. The sizzle steaks at the breakfast buffet were better. The only good food I had was the food I bought at an additional charge at Geovanni's. Their eggplant parmesan was to die for. I ended up buying the drink package because the first day there I bought a mixed drink and the charge waw $12.50. However, the prices on the second day were lower. They obviously inflate the drink prices on the first day to entice you to buy the drink package. I find this practice disingenuous. Similar with the food. They dumbed down the included food to get you pay for good food at their "premium" restaurants. Overall, the value for the money spent was poor. Read Less

Just returned from a family trip to the Eastern Caribbean on The Allure and we can't say we were that impressed. The ship is huge and offers a variety of things to do for all ages (we had a 2yr.old with us) which was the reason we chose the ship. We have cruised with RC over the years( 6 cruises) and it seems as the ships get bigger food quality and service decrease. The meals in the dining room were subpar and the Windjammer had the same foods almost everyday or leftovers from the previous night. If this was your first cruise you might think the food was fine but we know from previous cruises food quality is lacking. You could tell that dining room was understaffed. The wait staff was trying, they just were too overloaded. We purchased a drink package as we like to have wine with dinner, most times you only had a couple of choices without an up charge. Many times at dinner we didn't even get the drinks we ordered. We did enjoy the Aqua theater and Mamma Mia and our stateroom was clean. If you want non stop entertainment and caferteria food take the Allure. If you want quality food, wine and service choose another cruise line, RC isn't catering to that crowd anymore. Read Less

This was my 4th cruise in a row this winter. I´ve been on the Allure before but now it was a totally different experience. They must have packed in far too many people on this cruise! Somebody talked about 6200 or more passengers. Long lines to get something to eat, really bad service at dinner with food that was the worst so far on all of my cruises. Windjammer had very few choices, Freedom and Independance was much better!! The waiters seemed to be unexperienced or did not care to much. Maybe they have cut down on them. On seadays there was not a sunbed to be seen emty and i wonder if they have enough lifeboats for everybody? I think Royal must re think this pushing in more and more people on their ships, It is not pleasant and still very costly! I really wan to keep on cruising. Read Less

I loved my first time experience on a cruise and would recommand the Allure of the seas boat and Royal Carribean company to anyone who asks. Lots of entertainment and the waiters and dinning room staff was amazing. There was lots to do on the boat and in the shore excursions. The cabons were nice and clean, and the room attendant was very friendly with me and my son. For my next cruise, if my childrens come with me, I will make sure to take a boat that has water slides . The shows were amazing, including the ice shows. Incredible what they can do in a small ice rink. Always take the shore excursions with the boat to be sure of the service. They had to cancel some shore excursions in Cozumel due to recent issues with the local boats but no issues with anything else onboard. Great app and easy to follow the cost with the onboard TV. Our son and daughter-in-law treated us to this cruise with their family. We had a rough year with surgeries and complications. It was a much needed vacation. We've been on other cruises with this line and other lines. So far, this one is our favorite. The people who served us in the dining room and did the housekeeping were the best on the planet. Best shower, great pressure and easy to control the temperature. I guess most ships are cutting back on the small sized toiletries, as nothing but bar soap was in the room. I was glad to have the mini refrigerator for my insulin. Once our steward found out we needed ice, it was replenished daily. There is a lot of walking to do to get to the port and shore excursions. Great ship for our grandchildren, plenty for them to do. We would go again, for sure. Read Less

Our granson also enjoyed a couple of days making friends in the 'Kid Club' Additionally, the Aqua theatre had great shows to entertain everybody and the staff ensured the shows were interactive and got the crowds involved. Excellent food, in particular the evening dining in the Grand Dining Room and friendly, experienced staff ensured each meal was a pleasure. Staff enhanced the experience by learning our names and quickly learning our preferances, including and especially the likes and tastes of the kids. The adult shows were first rate entertainment and we particularly enjoyed the headliner acts. The shore experiences with enjoyable with adequate time to enjoy the ports whether strolling on your own or enjoying a planned excursion. This was my first cruise since 1993. We have been on 6 Royal Caribbean cruises between '85 and '93 then kind of forgot about them. My mother brought up the idea of us all going again but my wife was very afraid of boats from getting bumped around our 24' speedboat. She and my 11-year-old son did NOT want to go, but after much coercing, they succumbed to their first cruise. In a nutshell, my son apologized after the cruise for saying he didn't want to go and he and my wife said it was the greatest vacation they have ever been on! We were originally booked on the Adventure of the Seas out of Puerto Rico, but due to the hurricane, we just happened to find this one and WOW, we were blown away! I forgot how great RCCL was. The ship is huge, but we never felt overcrowded except sometimes around the pools midday when we were at sea. We just avoided the pool decks until after 3 and there was plenty of space. Cabins on cruise ships are always small, but we had a balcony and our room steward kept it immaculate. Anything we needed, we got it quickly. We did not eat at any of the specialty restaurants since there are many complimentary options. The food in the main dining room is amazing. The breakfast buffet is the same everything morning but still has plenty to choose from. The hidden jewel of free food is the Park Cafe in Central Park which probably had some of the best and healthiest food on the boat. We found that after a few days on the boat and couldn't stay away. Also, check out all the salsa music at Boleros and the best bartender on the boat, Kim, at the Bow and Stern Pub. The entertainment is first rate! The only show I didn't care for was Mama Mia because I'm not a big play person, however, my wife, kids and mother, completely disagree with me on Mama Mia, so go see it for yourself. We saw all the other shows except the ice rink one. The headliner juggler was fantastic along with the comedian they had. Don't miss the Aqua Show and the highlight of the trip for shows was 70's night on the Promenade deck. They turned it into a massive dance hall where 1000 people were dancing to disco tunes in the middle of the ocean! As for ports and excursions, we snorkeled at Labadee. It was fun, but not a ton to look at. Make sure you check out the local market on the far end. They will get in your face to sell you something, but you can get incredible deals on local crafts. I bought a Haitian rasta statue that he wanted $60 and I got it for $10! We decided to do our own thing in Falmouth, Jamaica. Since the kids are still too young for a lot of culture, we all got a day pass at the Hilton Rose Hall and had a really good time there. It was safe and definitely worth the price we paid to get in. Mark's Jerk shack there is a must try! I didn't get much time to explore Cozumel because I booked a double tank scuba dive trip. It was fun but where they took us, there wasn't much for reefs and the second dive was mainly a sandy bottom. I would skip this next time to explore the island. As for the service, almost everyone we came into contact with was fantastic. The head chef, Frank, came out and spoke with us in length. As a fellow chef, he set up a in-depth kitchen tour for us to take which was amazing. It's incredible to see what these guys put out for food and the size of these kitchens. Almost everything is made from scratch too. Getting on the boat in Fort Lauderdale did not take long. We were on the boat 45 minutes after we arrived at the terminal. Getting off was a breeze and customs whisked us right through. We travel with two boys, 9 and 11, and we had a hard time getting them off the boat. The kids activities were amazing and by the last few days of the cruise, they were begging to go to the kids area. Overall, I can't believe we waited this long to take a cruise and we are in the process of booking another with RCCL next year. I would highly recommend this ship to everyone. Read Less

We spent a week aboard with 16 of us. We had interior rooms and the ship was so big, it really just felt like a convention center. The promenade was really just high end expensive shops and reminded me of a mall. Malls are dead! I felt it hard to feel "connected" with the fact we were on a ship. Overall, the smaller ships (and yes, I mean Freedom;Liberty class even) are more for us. I was very dissapointed with the pack and play cribs we had for our twins. We just rolled with it but they were dirty and stained, and didnt have the appropriate safety features they should require. As our kids are "about done" with them we monitored them for further issues and continued not letting it mess up our experience. We enjoyed the mytime dining, however I noticed a significant deline in the quality and "feeling" of fanciness at dinner. Menus stained, tattered, and being butt to butt with other tables it was like a maze to get to our tables. Overall, yes, we loved the cruise but there were several parts we were dissapointed with but thats probably because the situation we were in with our kids. Your mileage may vary! Read Less

We chose this cruise specifically for the ship itself. The ship is beautiful, the staff was great except for one particular individual, MDR food was excellent, and the entertainment was awesome. The one crew member we observed that wasn't very friendly was some guy scanning seapasses at the Aqua Show. He was very rude and obnoxious ... barking orders very loudly to stay in line "single file" and actually said "If you don't have your seapass out I will pull you out of line until you're ready and then put you in the back of the line." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Anyway, the rest of the staff was fabulous. (It's a shame this one crew member stuck out the way he did.) Embarkation was very easy and well organized. They boarded by C&A status (Suite Guests boarded with Pinnacles). We were on the ship at 11:00am and we are lowly Emerald. Debarkation was the easiest I've ever seen. We had Mobile Passport and was able to bypass the very long lines at customs. We also used Luggage Valet and it worked perfectly. With 6500 guests and 2500 crew members on-board, it never really felt crowded. The only times we knew there were tons of people on the ship was immediately after the shows. After our first show we just stayed in our seats until the crowd thinned out (usually 10-15 minutes after the show). Tip: If you want to go to the promenade parade on the last night, get there 45 minutes early ... it was packed and I mean very packed! In my opinion, the ship is just too big. The Freedom and Voyager classes are just right for us and I think we'll stick with those. Recommend booking as many things prior to the cruise as possible ... especially the entertainment. It was SRO for every show we went to. Again, every show was awesome! RCI did not spare any expense in this area. Read Less

I thought the ship was beautiful, I enjoyed the lounge areas on Norweigan Getaway better. We like to party and the ship wasn't laid out as well for that atmosphere, but it was still a great cruise. I like the pools, but they were cold and spilt up into 4 different areas, which is good in a sense, but no main area for the partygoers. I love when the ship has a band centrally located and the party people can gather together, The 2 small bars on the pool deck were kinda boring. Entertainment was amazing especially Oceanaria. Food was not nearly as good as I had on Norweigan, especially the specialty dining. Did not think it was worth the additional expense as the main dining room was just as good. Hibachi was awesome! Gerry our Chef was hilarious! We laughed harder than at the comedy shows. Spa was very nice. Our room was near it and loved the smell every day. We liked our room location on deck 6, so close to 5 where everything is on the Royal Promenade. We used the stairs to help keep active. The elevators can get crowded of course. You have to be 75 lbs to ride zip line, we had to weigh my 72 lb boy with some items to make weight. But he got to do it, it's a very short ride, go when theres no line. Park Café and Solarium were great for breakfast. I stayed away from Windjammer, so much buffet food and crowded, although my daughter loved having the options of the buffet and the food I tried was good. Just too many people hovering over the food stations. Cabin was typical, but bring your own shampoo and conditioner. We did western and loved all the ports of call. Food and drinks are included at Labadee. We did a resort for the day in Jamaica, Hyatt Ziva, we loved it, was all inclusive. We rode ATV's with our kids in Cozumel and got to jump into a cave with bats and crystal clear water, we all loved it. Overall, it was an amazing cruise, but I think I will go back to Norweigan forfor our taste, we liked the layout for evening partying better. Maybe we just had a lot of international and older people for our taste, it was January 28th sailing. I would go again though. Read Less

Went on this cruise with son, his wife and her parents. We have been on the Allure twice before and still find the Wind Jammer Restaurant very difficult to maneuver through. Over 30 cruises and have never seen a ship where there is constantly waiting lines to even get into the facilities. It is laid out so that everyone bumps into each other. It was a DreamWorks cruise and it added to the enjoyment. Overall the entertainment was very good and food was average. They now charge for room service if you want anything more than a simple continental breakfast. Having breakfast on the balcony used to be one of the perks of have the balcony but now it will cost about $10, with gratuity, to have room service with a real breakfast. To many people for the ship. The 4 yr old was treated like a star! Leaving the ship, purchases, etc is made so easy with your sea pass in your pocket and no purse, wallet, etc. The "freebies" are too many to mention. The entertainment is outstanding with lots of variety and choices in scheduling. It is more like visiting a small town rather than being on a ship. Most important is the environment of friends and family that the staff promotes. Everyone is happy and enjoying themselves because of the excellent treatment you are given by all the staff. I knew my husband was going to love the classiness of the ship as he is one for a "finer taste". First of all, embarking was so smooth and easy and quick. I didn't expect to get on the ship till 1pm. We arrived at the port at about 11am and were in our room about an hour later. We enjoyed the food - there were so many choices of restaurants: from the delightful bistro in the beautiful Central Park, to the elegance of the Main Dining Room, to the down-to-earth top-notch Windjammers buffet on Deck 16 and many others. They all had one thing in common - delicious choices of food. The waiters were friendly, entertaining and professional. Speaking of entertainment, you could never get bored aboard the ship. We visited the spa almost every day; Honeymooners make sure to take advantage of the mud ritual and the bath; you won't regret it. There were fantastic ice shows, broadway plays, outdoor theatrical movies (even some for the kids), all types of band concerts featuring expert musicians from around the world, hot tubs, swimming pools, ice skating ... and the list goes on. The staff was overall friendly and they kept the ship immaculate! We especially enjoyed the photographers who I must say were not amateurs; people were wowed by the photos they took. We also enjoyed the excursions and how easy it was to book them from within our stateroom. Our balcony stateroom was cozy and clean. We look forward to getting back on board this ship. Read Less

My husband and I cruised with RC for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time (2008). We cruised again with RC in 2011 with my in-laws, parents and young child and we couldn't wait to do it again with our family. We were excited that we would be able to take part in the children's program and have some down time. The kids program was good, and my children usually looked forward to doing it. I could tell the staff looked tired however, and that was a little troublesome. The ship was in good repair mostly and there was quite a bit to do with families, lifeguards were on top of things, and I felt safe on the ship. My biggest complaints were 1. The staff looking completely drained. From the windjammer, to the dining halls and all around the ship, the staff looked like they were ready to get people off the ship. There were a few exceptions to this (one gal from indonesia who greeted us at Windjammer, and the other greeters at Windjammer, a few servers in Windjammer, and a few stateroom attendants, but they looked worn but acted happy). 2. the lack of help and support my parents received during their stay. My dad is in a wheelchair and could have used assistance. He is a proud man and doesn't like to ask for help, nor does my mom, but assistance was rarely offered, and when asked for help (usually by me or my mom), it seemed like we were a bother. This seems completely different than when we cruised in 2008). 3. Our stateroom was not as clean as it should have been. We found items that were left by former passengers that had layers of dust on it. 4. The quality of the destinations. I was surprised that Haiti was actually our best stop. I know the ship is big and can't fit into as many great ports as smaller ships, but it seemed like the Jamaica stop and Cozumel stop were tourist traps. I was pleasantly surprised how good Haiti ended up being in comparison. I was glad that we didn't pay for one of the excursions in Haiti, which was the inflatable play things in the water. Seeing them in person was quite a disappointment. I would have been upset if I spent money on that excursion. 5. The mandatory tipping. With the mandatory tipping, their is no incentive for quality service. While some people may be motivated to give great service because it is what they strive for, others could have cared less. And, if there wasn't an ADDITIONAL tip, the staff scoffed or just passed by you in the future. I have worked as a serve and completely understand the business. And I also understand that cruisers come from different cultural backgrounds and may not know to tip. However, the additional tips that were asked for and almost expected was beyond my understanding. While I would have tipped some, I wouldn't have tipped others. And at the price we paid per person per day for the tips, I wasn't inclined to give any more. I think some of your staff is missing out on great tips, and the others are getting more than their fair share. 6. The food in the dining room-portions were measley. I'm an average sized woman who works out, plus I'm bopping around the ship multiple times a day with the kids. I was HUNGRY! The portions were beyond small, and I was starving. Our last night in the dining room, the assistant waiter asked if there was anything more he could get me, and I said "yes, another plate of this". The taste was great, but the 5 wontons were so small. However, I had been finished for almost 30 mins when he finally asked. It seemed like some nights the wait staff was attentive at the point that they were pushing you out, and other nights they weren't paying attention and you couldn't be there for two hours. Our honeymoon Cruise, we were at dinner for about 1.5hrs-2 hrs and we were attended to, but not at rush lightning speed. Nights where I was hungry, I ended up at the Windjammer. All in all, I was HIGHLY disappointed with the cruise. I was so excited to go and half way through I just felt like "ah, oh well-let's just keep going. It wasn't relaxing or rejuvenating-it was ho hum. Nothing really special. I could have gone to a beach house or a hotel with a pool and casino for a quarter of the price and had about the same experience. All in all, I was HIGHLY disappointed with the cruise. Pros -Room was clean, well maintained with towel folding art which my son really loved, most of the evening turn-down service they offered, Thank you Ricardo, our room attendant who was quite but diligent and keen on clean and organizing the room. - Room maintenance was done two times a day, morning and evening; they seems like being aware of our absence, it was only done while we were out of the room - Dining foods were good and average depends on the day but, service as excellent; staffs remember what each guest prefer and worked hard to meet your satisfaction Thanks to Bandoo and Alex at Grande Dining Room - Although the dine at Windjammer takes a little line-up, the staff were friendly and dishes were taken away promptly - Mama Mia show was excellent and professional, I definitely recommend this show - Park Cafe, nice atmosphere outside of the store, located in central park and food were fresh, mostly panini, sandwich, fruit, chips (lunch), cakes and cookies - Sorrento, Pizza place was our favorite snack place - Giovanni, Specialty Italian restaurant with extra charge, the food was excellent but, service was not great - Excursions: Haiti was the best part port Cozumel, Mexico, we had All inclusive (Locker is not included, $15) Dolphin Encounter at Dolphinaries takes about mins north, it was excellent experience. The guy who led the group from the port was very prompt and clear. He also engaged 'back-to-the port' taxi for us at the end of the excursion which was already included. (we departed the port at 10:30am and returned at 2:30pm) Photo purchasing was pricey but we were aware of this before the trip so we only bought one $25 printed photo for our son. Package is about $100 Cons - the drain at room vanity was not working well, seems clogged a bit - side table hinge was riffed off, dangling; it was concerned safety issue - Guest service phone service was unpleasantly greeted: pre-purchased arcade card credit on your seapass card can be kept on exceeding the amount you charge so BE Careful if you don't want to exceed the amount; guest service people is not polite when you tried to fix this. We pre-purchased two 25 dollars arcade cards, one for my kid and one for my husband. They put these credit for each of my son and husband's seapass card and as we played throughout our trip, not on one day, we were not sure how much balance we have left since none of their balance machine was working at the arcades (Deck 6 and 15). At the end, we were charged exceeding amount of 18.50 dollars on our seapass account, turned out unlimited without my perception. We called guest service from our stateroom, the guy who picked up the phone was grumpy as he picked up the phone and he kept on saying it's been exceeding our limit of $25 and charged on our seapass. What's the point of purchasing arcade card online before on onboard, set the limit of $25 each then if we can just use our seapass card unlimited. He was repeating the same thing like a parrot until I raised my voice then "I don't like the way you talk to me" he said. I said back "I don't like the way you talk to me too" However, He talked to his superior and it was refunded to our account at the end of the day but definitely not a pleasant experience. - At Windjammer buffet, food were a bit salty, complimentary drinks (juice and iced tea) were bit watered-down and table was not cleaned properly, wet and smelly but we understood as this place always busy during the meal hours. - Excursions: Jamaica, we did 'Place in the Sun', we don't recommend this. the beach was really crowded, each chair cost $6 above, Short time (2 1/2 hour including lunch time, you gotta find a spot, engage the chair, swim, shower, find a place to eat), stop by unnecessary souvenir store led by the guide (wasting 45 mins here - people complained to the guide). However, we didn't want to stay there long so, we found our own way to Margaretville restaurant located five minutes walking from the beach. This was a only memorable place we had on this excursion. Food was good (Jerk Chicken) and located by the sea. When we returned from Margaretville, everyone in our group were looking for a guide in front of extremely crowded/chaos entrance of the beach (Dr. Cave) where we were told to meet her, I myself, had to go inside again find her. - Overall, the most of service staffs were friendly and kind, but some of staffs were not consistent with every guest place to place, blunt and unpleasant expression, we are Asian and relatively young family, I hope this is not about discrimination about appearance they judge. This was our first time cruising and we were all pleasantly surprised. We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale a day before because we were nervous about missing the boat...Lol. Royal Caribbean exceeded our expectations in regards to customer service. Our daughters luggage was lost upon arrival and our stateroom attendant went out of her way to find it! We learned the hard way to make sure your luggage tags are secured properly! Allure of the Seas is a fantastic ship with so many fun activities to do. There is literally something for every age group! We had an ocean view balcony room and the size was perfect. Pack a light jacket...it can get cool in the evenings. There is a great variety of food to choose from so you don't feel as though you're eating the same thing everyday unless you want to. The on board activities are so much fun but rule of thumb is to make sure you read your daily COMPASS. Because there is so much to do you may tend to get a little overwhelmed with where everything is, and the cruise compass has everything you need to know! Please be sure to bring cash with you for some of the ports. We did a shore excursion at every port. We had a great time. Booking excursions ahead of time really was helpful. And make sure you arrive ON TIME to your excursion destination. We traveled with my 13 year old daughter and she really enjoyed the teen activities. They do a fantastic job of trying to get kids to step out of their comfort zone and meet new friends! We would definitely cruise again, possibly on another ship so we can see what each ship has to offer. Read Less
