Only chose this trip to be with my sister and her family. They are cruise junkies and love everything about cruising. My wife and would probably choose a different ship and Eastern Caribbean instead to Western. Overall they did a good job with all the people they had to handle. Shows were great and so were the specialty restaurants. Much more personal settings and very enjoyable. Staff certainly ...
Size of ship, entertainment were reasons for choosing it. I'm about done with Royal Caribbean due to the poor quality of their food. The buffet was chaotic in a way I've never experienced on a cruise ship before, and the food very institutional. Salty, greasy, and gunky predominates. Salad selections were a joke. Eggs were powdered. The buffet was very poorly laid out. The main dining room ...
We chose Allure of the Seas because we enjoyed our past experience in general with RCCL and specifically Oasis of the Seas. This was a totally different experience. The food and experience in the Lido was dreadful. Carnival provides a better quality, selection, and quantity. Policies were not enforced (i.e., shorts at night in the dining room - even on formal night - and kids in the adults ...
The wait staff were excellent, even with my food dietary restrictions. They were very helpful and fun.
Unfortunately the kitchen staff didn't follow the list of allowed foods even though everyone had the list.
My husband and I traveled with our adult son and his girlfriend. For the rest of the party, the food options were extremely limited. When ordering the steak on the 'always ...
So many thoughts on this cruise! Let me preface by saying that I've been on 12 cruises total; most were RCCL but also NCL and Carnival. I've always preferred RCCL, going back to the Sovereign of the Seas days.
Day 1 - embarkation was smooth; we have C&A status which allowed for quick check in.
Dinner this night was basically a disaster. Service was scrambled, we got the wrong drinks ...
We chose Allure of the Seas because we sailed her in 2012 and wanted to take my sister and her husband, this was our 12th RCL cruise.
But Royal Caribbean has closed off many previously public areas like the Royal Crown Lounge - (a signature feature of the line) and entire upper decks for exclusive use of suite passengers. They also took away public viewing balconies and turned them into ...
4th time on the Allure and the last. Seems there's less personnel working the ship and staff seems overwhelmed. Saw empty cups, glasses, plates etc left on stair landings, on ledges, on tables intended for ship products, sometimes all day/night. Very disorganized tour operations prior to departure from ship. 2 'secret' decks on aft 11 & 12 are now cabins. Diamond members got a new lounge ...
Embarkation went relatively well, even though I was for some reason placed in the general line rather than the priority line due to my previous cruise status.
Let me make this clear, the ship itself is quite beautiful. We had a balcony cabin 14590. Very very large ship and this is both good AND bad. Bad being that you need to pre-reserve for every show. And even on embarkation day there was no ...
Chose this cruise for it's destination. We were celebrating 58 years of marriage. Did not like new menu, and nothing was done for our Anniversary, even though travel agent had it to be celebrated on Nov. 4th. We had ordered a gift for someone else before the cruise, and it was never delivered. Staff was friendly, but it sure looked like they were short staffed. The shows were excellent, and ...
