Big Disappointment

Embarkation was quick and we were able to get right on the ship. We chose this cruise because we had cruised on this ship twice before and to join friends who had also cruised on this ship in the past. The itinerary was the same as most eastern Caribbean cruises but docked at San Juan at 2:00PM which suited us since we like to go for cappiccino coffee. The crew that we encountered were awesome! ...

Beautiful Ship & crew, but not superior cruise

Choose cruise for the Giant Ship experience for the first time... and luckily we sailed with only 60% capacity. Beautiful ship with good design and lots of jacuzzis, plenty of lounges and good gym and sports resources. Biggest let down was food. Love the crew service in the Main Dining room but the Windjammer is average cafeteria food... seems like mostly leftovers and not enough variety. ...

Great Ship, not a great cruise

We sailed on 12/30/21 for 9 days to the Eastern Caribbean. The Allure of the Seas is a great ship and I know Royal Caribbean is doing everything they can to make your cruise enjoyable but COVID has presented a lot of challenges for them. We were suppose to go to San Juan, Puerto and St. Thomas but we did not go to those ports because of COVID. Instead we had a 2 day stop in St. Martin. One of the ...

(Royal Caribbean Diamond Plus with 30+ cruises on RCL) We booked this cruise 6 days before the sail date of 11 December, 2021. Booked a large balcony cabin and very surprised to find one available and the reasonable price so close to departure Once on board it became obvious why. They were excited to get 4200 people, the highest number since the shutdown, on board a ship with a capacity of ...

RCCL is cutting costs everywhere

Been on this ship several times before. I am a Diamond Member. Eliminating the daily newsletter ( The Compass) was ridiculous. This was an 8 day cruise and the same 2 performers remained on the ship for the full 8 days repeating their same act. Love and Marriage game was hysterical. However, they just gave every contestant a cheap bottle of champagne. The drinks were all watered down. In ...

Felt crowded at 50% capacity

Used up a cruise credit from 2019 that RCCL would not extend, even though they canceled 2 I had booked. Even though I had a frustrating experience with them pre cruise. I was looking forward to this cruise. The crowding and waiting started at the airport as I had to wait 45 minutes for their shuttle, causing me to arrive at the port at 2 pm to absolute chaos. Luggage everywhere and a lineup that ...

Not What I Had Expected from RCCL

We hadn't sailed on RCCL in many years so were looking forward to sailing with them again. We treated our son and his wife to a cruise and all were excited. However, I have not decided when I will book another cruise. I had no problem with covid protocols and wearing masks. RCCL was up front about it and did their best to enforce it. We all know some people think rules are for everyone but ...

Less Than Wowed

I wanted to love RC. We‘ve cruised many times but this was our first on RC. My family and I were less than wowed. I realize the ship is heading to dry dock soon so perhaps they’ll make some necessary repairs but truly, it should have gone to dry dock before this sail. Due to a bad propeller our itinerary was initially altered 3 months from our cruise. We received notice but truly, 3 months ...

In comparrison to other cruise lines in different parts of the world, here is how we found "Allure of the seas". The check- in was chaotic with masses of people. The check-in staff were generally stern and impatient as much as we tried to make things a little easier for them by being organised with our documents. After wards, checking in to the room onboard was easy. The ship is colossal ...

Good but didn't meet my expectations

This is our 6th time cruising, second time with Royal, first time with a big ship like Allure. Embarkation was super easy. We were about an hour late than our scheduled check-in time, but no problem at all. Disembarkation was also easy. We took our luggage ourselves. The ship is big. Our cabin was near the front of the ship so every time we either took 5th floor (has all the shops) ...
