We chose this cruise as a "get our feet wet" family cruise, and it was also our oldest sons senior high school cruise. He is 17 and we have 2 other boys 9 and 16.
Boarding went smooth and we were all excited to see this magnificent ship up close - once we boarded, the entire ship smelled like a port-a-potty - YUK - so Allure smelled a lot like manure - but eventually that went away, and we ...
Boarding was quick and easy. Buffet was NOT good, it wasn't much to choose from. Was able to get into our cabin by 1 pm luggage were there by 145 or so. The Oceanview cabin was a big disappointment. It was very small and the couch was disgusting I took picture of it.. COCOCAY was the best part even though the water was freezing we still had a wonderful time. Main dining food was boring. The menu ...
My MIL decided to gift our family this trip for a Christmas treat. The ship is beautiful and big. However there is the good the bad and the ugly. I’ll start with the good.
Good - The rooms were always cleaned well. Staff service was great at Windjammer, Dazzles, Cafe Promenade, Sorrentos. The spa thermals were very relaxing. The gym was great. Our room with balcony was great. Getting on and ...
We chose this cruise because we were sailing with our Gen Z kids.
Pros: The ship is gorgeous, service is terrific, and there is a lot to see and do on the ship. Great for families! Food is very good as in the past. The entertainment was really good as well. They had the musical Mama Mia, but they could of offered a condensed version as well (i.e. similarly to how Disney condenses their ...
We choose this cruise because we have friends that live in Roatan and have made this trip many times before. We cruised on Harmony of the Seas out of Miami and thought we would enjoy Allure just as much. The ship is beautiful and someone is always cleaning and/or polishing something. The room steward was helpful and always available, but only straightens out the room once a day (which you ...
Since we had not travelled since pre-COVID, we decided to splurge and upgrade to the Owners Suite. We have zero regrets about doing this. The suite was extra spacious, beds were more comfortable, balcony was huge, and the perks associated with having a suite were superb (access to the Suite Lounge with its included nightly appetizers and drinks, access to the Coastal Kitchen with its elevated ...
After previous cruising on Oasis we were excited to book Allure when it was moved to Galveston near us! This was our first cruise following the Covid pandemic, and were anxious to discover if cruising had changed.
Unfortunately we discovered cruising was another victim of Covid.
There were some highlights….The Aqua Show, the Comedy Club, The Diamond Lounge….the ceremony honoring ...
Most of the negative I have is due to it being spring break and inundated with families. If you think about 2 people per room, then have kids in with parents, there are just more people. We learned a timing lesson, but it was unavoidable due to our group having a 7 year old. We were a group of 8 celebrating a milestone bday. Mostly in our 50s with a 31 year old and his son.
We are from CA ...
This review starts at the port. RCCL has a new terminal that is beautiful but has to be run by blind people. It apparently opened in November and it was the worst experience we have ever witnessed in a port. There apparently is no communication between security, the private parking vendors, and RCCL. I found the disorganization to be rampant. We pulled in to be dropped off and were told to go to ...
Let’s start with the room. The bed sheets were untidy and had hairs attached to the sheets, the phone was dirty, the key fob didn’t work, so we were locked out of the room. The second day, the hinges fell off the door, and they had to move us. They cancelled our costa Maya destination we paid for and made it a boat day, which was boring, so we slept the entire day, and only woke for lunch and ...
