Allure review 5/22- 5/28/22
"We went to the Grande Dining Room to request a table for 2, we just wanted to be on our own as many past cruises we have been grouped with others and have not had good luck so this time we just wanted to be on our own.He then turned to another person and had the show me where my table was, introduced us to our waiter and said no need to wait in line at our “My Time” dining time of 5:15pm, just go to the table...."Read More

ALLURE DISAPPOINTMENT

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Spent two weeks on Allure starting on May 7th and I'm sorry to say there were many disappointments. Quality & Quantity of food has significantly declined and that was across all venues, esp. the Specialty Restaurants where the prices are way to high. Pinnacles not staying in a Grand Suite or above could not have breakfast in Coastal Kitchen and were allowed to have breakfast in Chops, where the ...

The GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY...but we still love Royal Caribbean

Several parts of this review assume you already know about cruising. The GOOD... Our cabin was on deck 8. This ended up being a great choice because it was possible to walk from one end of the ship to the other without walking down the room hallways and without needing to get in an elevator first to get to a common area like the promenade, Central Park, or the pool deck. I have a bad knee ...

Better than expected

Wanted to try a big ship (5000*) passengers. Was better than I expected. Keep in mind we are a retired couple in our 70's. Activities & Entertainment A+: I'm used to the same old loud singing, clumsy dancing and ladies swinging from sheets on smaller ships. No one would pay to see those types of show on land but people pay big to see Broadway shows. The show Mama Mia, while no My Fair Lady, ...

Good ship but bad timing (spring break)

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Most of the negative I have is due to it being spring break and inundated with families. If you think about 2 people per room, then have kids in with parents, there are just more people. We learned a timing lesson, but it was unavoidable due to our group having a 7 year old. We were a group of 8 celebrating a milestone bday. Mostly in our 50s with a 31 year old and his son. We are from CA ...

Loved the Ship but Food was Subpar

This was our 3rd cruise on RCCL and will probably be our last. We’ve cruised with all the major cruise lines and we were on the NCL Encore just 6 months ago so we have a pretty good recent basis for comparison post Covid. First for the good. Loved the various neighborhoods on the Allure. This was our first time on an Oasis class ship and loved exploring the ship during the week. We booked an ...

Our embarkation was a disaster, waited in line for 95 min. They were not enforcing checkin times. Line was much longer for others. Food quality has declined significantly, sure don’t like new menus in MDR. Forcing guest to eat in specialty restaurants. They are still very good. Mama Mia was excellent best show at sea. Staff works hard. Had long hour plus wait at security in Cozumel. This was ...

Our first sailing on Royal Caribbean and on a cruise ship of this class

We were first time cruisers on Royal Caribbean, previously sailing pre-COVID on Carnival and Norwegian. We were on the Feb 5th sailing from Galveston. We live in the Houston area and sailing out of Galveston is very convenient. We both have birthdays this week and wanted to book a cruise. The Allure was just coming to Galveston and when we compared it to the other ships that sailed from ...

This was our 9th RC cruise, first on Oasis Class. We had a group of 23 celebrating grandson's 21st birthday. Prior to cruise I linked our reservation for dining. When we boarded, there were several reservations not linked, 8 total people. We were assured it would be fixed. Despite several attempts, only 4 were able to dine at our tables, leaving 4 of our party seated at the other side of the ...

I am shocked to see anything other than 5 STAR reviews. This ship is astounding! I was amazed from the first moment I saw it on the horizon from my hotel room at dawn the morning we were leaving Galveston. Truly an amazing ship! EVERY SINGLE STAFF member from the time we arrived at the terminal was so nice friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding. We ate in the Windjammer almost every meal, ...
