Nice cruise from Galveston during Covid
"It was great to cruise once again and, it had it's great and not-so-great - like all vacations: The great: price, service, and value inside cabin overlooking the promeade Entertainer Cary Long, comedian Food, worthy of praise - Roasted beef tenderloin one night in dining room - no extra charge - Escargo - had it every night - not hot - only warm, but very tasty - please make hotter - Shrimp cocktai - had it every night - Prime rib - offered 2 out of 4 nights - Pumpkin soup - offered one night Smooth and efficient embarkation and disembarcation - Facial recognition software is awesome Loved the Solarium - tranquil and relaxing hot tubs Promenade Cafe serves good pizza, salads, sandwiches, fruits, etc.- so conveniet and not crowded Karaoke was fun The not-so-great: Technology is dated and frustrating - wifi is terrible and costly Old and a little worn but still comfy No country music entertaiment - someone should tell the entertaiment director that this ship is from Galveston TEXAS More live music venues and performers would have been better Food not worth ordering - Eggs benedict were ordered runny but came out hard and muffin raw, not toasted - Grand Marnier Souffle - Shrimp Ceviche - Chicken Parm - Lemon Curd Tartlet We would go again for the same price - totally worth..."Read More

Friends Told Me I Would Never Go Back to Carnival: WRONG!

Review for Adventure of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

I am a Carnival Gold member who loves to cruise. Had it not been for COVID, we would platinum. A number of friends told us that we had to try Royal Caribbean (RC). They promised we would never go back to Carnival. Well, they were wrong. The first issue we had was having our first port canceled. We were supposed to go to Progresso on our first stop. Royal Caribbean canceled the stop claiming the ...

We chose this cruise due to dates and port. It's really narrow and the promenade deck is hard to get through when busy. Staff and food were excellent. We ate at Giovanni's and main dining for dinner. We didn't love the lunch in the main dining but dinners were great. We were disappointed there was no lobster night. I don't know it was only on longer cruises. Toilet didn't flush sometimes. ...

As a Gold Crown & Anchor member, this was our 3rd cruise on Royal Caribbean. It is a shame RC has lost their way and hopefully the CEO, Jason Liberty is paying attention…. More importantly I hope he is making changes. Either he will or his successor will be forced to. Adventure of the Seas is not a bad ship. It is fairly nice. Check in was fine, safety briefing was good, clean stateroom, ...

Older traditional ship/fantastic itinerary Western Caribbean and the Americas

We wanted this itinerary for its stops in South and Central America and that was the right thing for us to do, as we've been to the Caribbean so many time. Roatan was a highlight as was Costa Rica, but the Panama Canal is a LONG and mostly boring way to get to the Pacific Ocean. We did by Excursion and glad we did, once you have gone on a canal cruise in Europe, it's the same experience and not ...

I want to start this with, the staff in the MDR. They were great. Very attentive, really fun and super nice. We had a few issues with our cabin. I loved the placement and size of the cabin. I loved the window. We have never stayed that low. Our issue’s were the hard mattress, the sink drained very slow, and it was a hit or miss with the toilet flushing. Yes I went to guest services. ...

Just returned from 5 nights onboard Adventure of the Seas out of Galveston. I arrived at the pier about 35 minutes early because I was parking in a new parking location. It was right next to the terminal and a great location. They let us into line a little early and the health screening part took about 5 minutes, security another 5 and about 3 minutes to check in with Royal ...

My mom and I chose this cruise out of Galveston for 3 main reasons: convenient port location (close to home), price, and to try out Royal Caribbean for the first time. Overall, it was a lovely cruise. We experienced incredible service from the dining staff, bartenders, room stewards etc. We made great friends in the pool and casino. The ship was clean and had plenty of space. Our balcony cabin ...

First Time Cruisers, But Not The Last Time!

For our first ever cruise, we chose Royal Caribbean and Adventure of The Seas. We had a really great first experience! We had a balcony cabin on deck 6 and it was close to everything. First, can I just say that Tornado Tanya is a freaking one-woman force of nature! Our expectations of what a cruise director should be is based on this woman and it is a very high bar indeed! This brings me to ...

Two of us traveled on Adventure out of Galveston on the 5 night to Progresso and Cozumel. Overall great cruise and really enjoyed the ship. Showing little age and was clean throughout the trip. Had DBP and UDP so did not eat in either MDR (except for 2 breakfasts) or WJ. Adventure has Izumi, Chops, Giovannis and Johnny Rockets as specialty restaurants. Thought we may get tired of the repetition ...

Overview: We’re a 60’s something couple finally able to travel after retirement. This was our first cruise since COVID and the first “off peak” cruise that we have taken. We were on Royal’s Adventure of the Seas sailing from Galveston to Costa Maya and Cozumel 2/9- 2/14/2022. The ship was only at about 40% capacity, which made for a lot more room and opportunity to enjoy it all. In short, we had ...
