Family cruise to a new area. The Adventure of the Seas is a well-run ship, and we experienced no troubling issues as we have on other RCI ships. We were pleased. The Adventure of the Seas staff had a Salute to Veterans on last sailing day which was a memorable, moving meeting of about 40-50 veterans of all military branches and ranks. Many wore identifying hats of their ships or branch of service. I was able to meet several former submariners and that made the celebration special to me. Go Navy! St. John, New Brunswick, on the Bay of Fundy was okay, but Bar Harbor and Peggy's Cove near Halifax were interesting and scenic. Would recommend tours in these ports. We thought that having two days in Halifax and skipping St. John would be preferable, but then there would only be two ports-of-call on a six-night cruise. Sailing days were limited basically to two full days, which did not really provide a lot of down time, and three days of ports-of-call back-to-back was a bit tiring to the "older" cruiser. Overall, a very nice cruise, great cruise, better-than-expected cruise quality was very nice to experience. Read Less

I'd chosen this cruise for our 41st wedding anniversary and planned it 10 months in advance. Everything was paid for, but I was still worried about hubby's mobility issues. Fortunately, RC gave me information on the vendor they use to rent electric scooter or wheelchairs. Hubby, however, refused. RC put us in a spacious, handicapped-accessible inside cabin near the elevator. Everyone from the boarding person and room housekeeper were very helpful and efficient. Dinner that first night on-board was great, as were the four other people we dined with. The food, and I'm a very picky eater, was very good - especially the creme broullie for dessert. But the first morning of the actual cruise, hubby's hand swelled up like a claw. The ship's clinic took basic blood tests and xray, put him on an antiobiotic drip, gave him pain meds, and then released him. The RC nurse phoned us to make sure he was feeling better. The pain killers weren't working. When we docked in Bar Harbor, Maine, RC's ship clinic doctor made arrangements for us to disembark and get driven to the Mt. Desert Island Hospital -- quite a scary name, right? But it turned out to be a real life saver. After doing an ultrasound, though, the hospital's orthopedic doc told us we could not return to the ship because we still lacked a diagnosis. The client care staff on board RC packed our suitcases and had their wonderful liason, Captain Ron, get me settled in the hotel across the street from the hospital. He was truly such a Godsend. The hotel had no available rooms left, so they gave me a suite at the same price. After a couple of days in the hospital and a diagnosis that hubby had experienced an adverse reaction to the Eloquist blood-thinner he was taking, we were back on our feet. Did I mention I also wound up in ER for stress-related causes? THANK GOODNESS WE HAD TRAVEL INSURANCE THROUGH TRAVEL GUARD FOR BOTH THE CRUISE, FLIGHTS, AND LODGING! That's another story. Read Less

We traveled aboard the Addventure of the Seas with a party of sixteen, ranging in age from 6 to 72. Each person was extremely satisfied with their personal experience. We arrived within our scheduked boarding time and did not experience a line. I personally found time to relax, explore the ship, bask in the sun and engage in conversations with fellow travelers. The shows were very good but I would have enjoyed more variety, shows that would have gotten me on my feet preferably shows from the Motown and American Bandstand era. Our Jr. Suite was roomy and well maintained. The stateroom attendant was excellent never intrusive, always on point and performed his tasks around our schedule. Although the formal dining room provided excellant service with a variety of food, the WindJammer was our favorite. Most of our group visited on a regular basis and each time found a great variety of food that suited our taste perfectly. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of scheduling our cruise while on baord. However, our little travel group is in the process of deciding our next destination. We are 99% sure it will be aboard a Royal Caribbean ship. Read Less

Adventure Of The Seas, is a beautiful ship. As residents of NY City, cruising from the NY/NJ area is very convinient to us. We have cruised other lines, but we love Royal Caribbean, therfore, Anthem of the Seas, is this ship we Cruise more. So when Royal Caribbean, brings over other ships we book them for variety. This time I loved the idea of cruising with Adventure again. Also the itinerary was very inciting for the change, and variety of ports of call. Embarkation and disembarkation is the easiest, simplest and fastest, that I ever experienced. I think Cape Liberty port, is the best port to sail from. We had a hump cabin, and enjoyed the balcony immensely, specially on days at sea when the Windjammer gets really busy. We picked up our food, and brought it to enjoy it in the balcony. The Cabin itself, was spacious and clean. Very comfortable. Entertainment, as always, Royal Caribbean did not disappoint us. A lot of fun on this ship. The cruise director and the RC entertainment staff were outstanding, not a dull moment onboard. We enjoyed a lot, the ice skating show, as well as the production, comedy and movies. Food overall is good. We have had better. Food in the Windjammer I found it very repetitive, meaning, almost every day the same thing for lunch and breakfast. The staff is outstanding, literally, everybody makes it, their business, to make sure you are happy. The Boomer part of it is, as a diamond plus member, the Diamond Club, is a very small area. It was always over crowded, it used to be that Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members had access to the suite Lounge. Not anymore, so the place feels very crowded and suffocating. We avoided it entirely but we couldn't help but feel kind of cheated. That is one of the highlights of our vacation. We counted Cruise point after cruise point until we reached this milestone, we want to enjoy the benefits... Read Less

A Friend found the trip and asked several people to go. There were 13 of us cruising together.. I thoroughly enjoyed the time cruising the North Atlantic and visiting the ports and shore excursions. I found the excursions fun and educational. The service and dining was excellent. The food for the most part was excellent. I can't say enough about all the ship's staff. They were always courteous and helpful..The entertainment was delightful and very entertaining. I found that the embarkation and disembarkation were extremely efficient and well organized..I would definitely cruise with Royal Caribbean again. Although I would have preferred the weather to be a bit warmer so that I would have enjoyed the pools and hot tubs. Although the weather did not cause me to not go ashore and participate in the shore excursions. The only shore excursion that was cold and windy was the Marine Wildlife. We all had hopes of seeing whales and other marine wildlife. We did not see whales but we did see dolphins and otters. Read Less

we chose the cruise because we wanted to try a different ship and also wanted a seven day cruise and not a 5 day cruise as that was the only one available on Anthem of the Seas. We loved the ship the food was great. We were especially impressed with the buffet. It had a great deal of variety and an abundance of food. The main restaurant was also great the food and service was excellent. There was also a great deal of shade available around the pool which is important for us. The entertainment was very good the comedians were great. We liked the promenade on this ship more than on the Anthem of the seas . There was more variety of food available after hours. Our cabin was very spacious for an inside room plenty of storage space, I guess because it was an older ship. The only thing we were not impressed with was the solarium which has a sky opening so when it is cold and the weather is bad you cannot seek refuge there. We love the Solarium on Anthem of the Seas much better. Overall we loved the Adventure of the seas and are taking it again soon heading to Canada and New England. We traveled alone but if you come with children there are many activities available and the pool area has sections specially for children of all ages. Read Less

We took a January cruise on the beautiful Oasis and the Adventure is every bit as beautiful but understandably smaller. I was not disappointed. I specifically chose this 5-day cruise from San Juan, PR to Bayonne, NJ to enable me to reach Diamond status. I needed 9 cruise points and the Jr. Suite was priced low enough to book which gave me double cruise points for the suite. This was my first suite and I was amazed how much storage was available. We had cabinets we didn't even use thanks to the large walk-in closet with a wall of shelves! Also a tub/shower. We flew in to San Juan from Dallas arriving around 1pm. We opted to take a taxi from the airport to the pier for $26 set fare and were able to split this cost with another couple we saw at baggage claim. Easy embarkation and departed for St. Maarten at 8pm. The cruise made only this one stop and we took a $6 cab ride from the pier to the courthouse in Philipsburg, and from there walked up the beach "boardwalk" to a bar called "Pirates 'n Paradise" and when we saw the Ohio State flag and sign, we had to stop since my wife is an alumni. We sat at the bar overlooking the boardwalk and the beautiful beach for a beer and some great people watching. The next 3-days were at sea and we enjoyed the food and entertainment provided. The ice show was spectacular and the other singers, dancers, orchestra, comedian, and juggling act were great to watch. Advertised activities were popular for the variety of guests. Food was good. We usually ate breakfast at Windjammer and coffee was excellent (strong) whereas one day, we ate breakfast at main dining room where sit-down service was slow and coffee was weak. Main Dining room dinner was good and service generally excellent. We only had two gripes. On the last sea day, we could not access our in-room TV services menu to review our bill. When it was delivered the final morning, there were two errors overcharging us $222 which required we wait in a long line at guest services to get resolved. They could have used more representatives to help. After that the walk-off disembarkation in Bayonne, NJ went smoothly until we exited the cruise terminal building for a fairly long walk to the Taxi shed in a parking lot across the potholed street. We had looked online earlier for taxi fares rather than using Royal Caribbean bus service, and the taxi was "supposed" to be about $38 from the terminal to Newark airport which would have been a good deal. There was a severe shortage of Taxis. We were told to get in the only one there and he left without us. They called for another cab and one finally arrived and as we were loading luggage we were told the fare would be $65 plus toll. We went ahead and took the ride for $70. The RCI bus would have been about $59. By the way, Uber and Lyft were also a possibility, but we never expected the complete lack of taxis and the "fare jacking". I only wish we could have had someone to share the taxi with us. Read Less

Very good ship, Nice and celant Very nice itinary eith only one sea day. Excellent entertainment Especially the juggler Mike Prince Thanks to Esteban Pinnock (guests services) who resolve my luggage issues. Also a Big Wow to Arthan and Petri in the main dining room. The food was very tasty. And also to my state room stateroom attendant Nahroni Latif (perfect) We were VERY disappointed at Izumi. My wife choked on the very first bite. The sushi rice was totally dry and i am pretty sure it had been refrigerated. Cold sushi, dry rice, tasteless and salmon missing on the rolls. (I have picture to prove it). What a shame! We like Chops and Giovanni restaurant. The highlight of the cruise was definetrly the Chef’s table. Yessss! We recommend this cruise ship, and look forward to sail again in the near future with RCCL. Smaller than the Oasis but very nice as well. Read Less

Cruise was chosen because of the tour program in the southern caribbean sea. Service ist simply excellent and much better than at european cruise lines. Same for for food and beverages, just outstanding for serving such a mass of people. Organization skills of the staff are very good. Shows and evening program is very focused on american audience and their expectations (for example: a US comedian is not understandable for a non-english native speaker). Some Trivias or games are quite irritating for europeans and meet just the american taste. In general cruising with an american cruise line ris very customer focuced with a highly friendly staff. At least one contact person should be able to speak other languages as english or spanish. Heard from a few german guests, they felt a little bit "lost", as they are not fluently in english. As passionate dancers we were a little disappointed about the program, the dance floor as well as the bands. To high focus on latin music. The shopping focus, to make more and more money beside the booked cruise, permanent offers etc. are somewhat annoying. We wnat to enjoy our holidays and not shop during day and night. But.all in all a great cruise experience (we did more than 20 cruises with other cruising companies). Read Less

Affordable alternative to travel where You have almost everything at a arms length.. The ship is large with many theme restaurants, shops, pools, outdoor theater, sun decks, entertainment theaters, a casino and a lot of quiet places to relax, lie down, read, game room, library just to mention a few. The cabin was excellent, the dining alternatives, at he formal dining room and the windjammer lounge offered a variety of food for all to chose. The daily entertainment and evening activities and service is very outstanding. There was a variety of port excursions.I chose to do local tourist on foot in the proximity of the ports visited. The maps provided by the cruise line were very good. Being a local of San Juan I found the embarkation facilities in San Juan very run down, neglected and dirty, I cannot say that of the islands visited. Overall our cabin attendant Ms Milagro Thyne room 9642 and head waiter at our table 422 Mr Michael Jackson and his attendant Muhammad were efficient and professional. The disembarkation facilities are rather small in San Juan compared to the amount of passengers it has to handle, the parking is inadequate and more coordination is needed by the tourism authorities to make this pleasant. Puerto Rico has to learn from islands such as Barbados, Martinica,St Lucia that with smaller ports handled things very smoothly. Read Less

Nice flight from PHL to SJU on a bright 40 degree day. Upon landing, the temperature was about 85 degrees, enough to make it feel like summer again. Taxi ride from the airport to La Concha Hotel was a flat $21 for two people. Downtown San Juan looked pretty good and mostly unaffected by hurricane Maria. But, on the plane’s final approach, the homes we passed over mostly had blue plastic tarps for roofs. I’m afraid it will be years until most parts of this island are back to normal, if at all. Had a tasty Chinese meal for dinner at a place down the street from the hotel. They had pina coladas for $7.95 which were yummy. It was starting to get dark after we left so sat by the pool instead of dipping in the ocean. There were at least four places to buy spirits within three blocks from the hotel. You could tell who the cruisers were since folks buying two bottles of wine was a dead giveaway! Wine is also sold at the port, so you’re able to get your supply before going through security. Day 1: Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017- Embarkation Day Pan American Pier was just a short hop from downtown San Juan. Security and check in went rather fast after having to wait in a long line just to drop off your checked luggage. The whole process took about 25 minutes. One whole bank of elevators were being used to send the luggage to the upper decks so the elevators were kind of packed Muster drill took a good 45 minutes because some thought it a good idea to be “fashionably” late and a few absentees had to be rounded up. Aside from that, everything else went well. Dinner started at about 6:30 and the prime rib was yummy! Tomorrow(Sunday) will be the first formal night. One really nice thing about the interactive TV is that you can preview the menus from each of the dining venues. That’s something I really missed on the Vision and Rhapsody on my last two cruises. Peeking at your onboard account is another thing I’ve missed. Technology is great! Day 2: Dec. 10, 2017 Sunday – sea day Mostly just relaxed and soaked up the sun on the pool deck. There was a very active Zumba class going on that was full of energy. As those folks sweated, I sipped several pina coladas which worked out my elbow muscles. I didn’t get a drink package but they were only about $10 each plus 18% gratuity. Oh, my daughter sent me several emails of the snow from back home in PA. In return, I sent her a bunch a photos of people in the pools and the Adventure slicing through the warm, blue Caribbean! Day 3: Monday, Dec. 11. Curacao Spent the day at an all-inclusive resort, Sunscape. The ride there took only about 15 minutes. For the fee you pay you get unlimited drinks, food, beach chair, use of pools, and of course the beach. Although the property is absolutely beautiful, I got the feeling that the price was really on the high side. For example, Nachi Cocum, in Cozumel, is only half as much and you an equal amount of food, alcohol, etc. Despite that, I’d still go back again because the staff were great and always pleasant. Day 4: Tuesday, Dec. 12 Bonaire My very first time here so didn’t know quite what to expect. Decided to take a tour of the northern section of the island. It was $25/pp and took about two hours. Saw some of the best snorkeling/scuba diving spots in the world. The water was the clearest, bluest I’ve ever seen in all of my Caribbean travels! Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire all have the same in common. Very dry, hardly any rain, and lots of cactus. If there were any palm trees, I didn’t see them. Also, I noticed that all the villages and small towns we passed through were very well kept and there were no signs of poverty. Our tour guide said there was practically zero crime and most places didn’t even have a need for police. A home close to the ocean is over a million dollars but inland is much more affordable. Who would want to live somewhere with no ocean view, though? The downtown shopping area and even port shopping areas were very laid back and low keyed. I really enjoyed this place! No one at all in your face trying to coerce you to buy trinkets and souvenirs, etc. Day 5 Wed, Dec. 13: Aruba Awoke around 7:30 AM to at the beautiful port of Aruba.I pre-purchased an all- inclusive day pass at the Barcelo Hotel. I am sure glad I did because this was one beautiful property! It was a short ride from the port and we got there around 10 AM. All the staff were very nice and made us feel welcomed, like well-known honored guests. Their swimming pool area was one of the nicest I’ve ever seen! Most of the shaded loungers, by the ocean, were taken but we were very happy next to a pool. The bar staff kept refilling our drinks and the included buffet had great and tasty selections. We got back to the ship at about 4:30 PM to shower and unwind. The bright sun seared us so am glad I took along a goodly amount of strong sunscreen. Still, I feel a bit burnt. The Cruise Compass noted that “All passengers had to be aboard by 10:30 PM.” That’s the latest return time I’ve ever experienced but guess it’s a very short hop to the final stop, Antigua. Day 6: Sea Day Dec. 14, 2017 Just kind of lazed around the ship and took it easy. Spent a bit of time in the Jacuzzi on the pool deck, read a bit, and not much else. It was like having a vacation from my vacation. Day 7: Antigua: Dec. 15, 2017 Where has this place been all my life? It was my first visit there and was very impressed. Due to the early 2:30 PM back on board time, couldn’t get too involved with much. We ended up going to Dickenson Beach which was just a short hop from the port. The same taxi driver that took us there returned at the prearranged time to pick us up for the trip back to the ship. This island has 365 beaches! I’ve got 364 to go! After dinner (I call it the Last Supper), we started packing up and, with sadness, put our checked luggage in the hallway. Day of Debarkation, Dec. 16 They called our luggage tag number at about 9:10 AM so off we went. All the elevators were totally backed going to the gangway on deck 1, so I had to lug two carry-on bags down two decks from deck 3 of the Sapphire Dining Room where we waited. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal but my knees aren’t what they used to be. Customs was chaotic! I managed to snag a porter which sped up the process quite a bit and we were in a taxi, headed to the airport, in no time. Boarding time for our flight was at 2:20 PM, so had about a two hour wait. Had I an earlier flight, there was a good chance I’d have missed it unless I did the self debarkation. At first I wasn’t going to write about this but feel it’s very important to mention. I have read numerous horror stories on various cruise sites/reviews about the behavior of the locals who sail from Puerto Rico. On day 1, I noticed that about 70% (just my estimate) of the passengers were locals. I thought to myself that this could quite possibly be “the cruise from hell.” I couldn’t have been more wrong. Everyone I met, or encountered, was super friendly, polite, happy, and outgoing. I saw not one example of jumping in line, poor elevator etiquette, or any other act of rude behavior I’ve read about in other’s reviews from past cruises. Actually, I felt that the locals turned a good cruise into a GREAT cruise! To sum up, I’d give this cruise an 11 out of 10! The absolute worst part of this cruise? Flying home after an extraordinary week of sun and fun! Funny, after reading this review I noticed there weren’t any cons about the ship itself. Well, there weren’t really any worth mentioning. Of course, nothing is every perfect. But, this was about as good as it gets! Read Less

We have taken many cruises in the past and our favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean. We enjoyed the ports of call. We did a Stingray and snorkel tour in St. Johns and that was awesome. My husband and I are in our senior years and didn't know how we felt about doing this tour, but so glad we did. The staff on the tour, were so kind and patience and helpful with us. They explained how to touch and be around the Stingray's and we were so relaxed and at ease. The water was warm and beautiful. This was one of our all time best excursions ever in all the years we have been sailing. We also did a wonderful excursion in St. Lucia. We took the tram high through the rain forest. The staff and our tour guide was so great. We have zip lined through rain forests on past cruises, but chose the tram this time and it was a great choice. We got to see more around us and our tour guide was so funny and kept us informed about all the beautiful surroundings. The staff on Adventures of the Seas, were kind, helpful, and very efficient. Our cabin attendant Wendell, was great and so kind. Our dining staff waiters, were wonderful. We always choose my time dining, early dining. The variety of food and dining style was fabulous. The only thing that we would say, is the Windjammer in the morning hours and lunch time were very crowded. Sometime not being able to find a seat. Usually before the tours leave in the morning and at 1:00 for lunch We would either eat in the main dining hall for breakfast and get to the Windjammer right when they open. Of course, you never go hungry, so it is not a complaint. There are many places and variety of food all around the ship. The entertainment was average. The highlight of the entertainment was the comedians. We booked another cruise for 2018, before leaving the ship. Read Less

This Southern Caribbean cruise was the first for us. We flew into San Juan the day before, and it was refreshing!!! We can't wait to cruise again!!! It was my first time on the Adventure of the Sea, and we love being in the rear of the ship. It's so nice to be on the balcony, and view when the ship leaves every port. It was such a blessing meeting so many people. I find that when you are kind unto others they are kind to you. We could not ask for a better crew member to make our room, make funny characters from towels, getting our laundry done; pressed, stemmed, and washed. The Chef's Table was so great, tasting wine for each course: 5 course meal. The filet magnon was absolutely perfect, soup, salad, dessert!!! It was an experience indeed!!! Everyone went out of their way to ensure our vacation was a relaxing, wonderful experience, and it was. This was our 5th Royal Caribbean vacation and we have another booked for December. Our dining room wait staff was as good as any we've experienced at a 5 star restaurant. After the 1st evening, they knew what our likes/dislikes were and their culinary suggestions were spot on. Any person we came in contact with, from guest services to cabin attendant to bar staff, were there with smiling faces, ready to please. 'so looking forward to our next experience in Dec. The cruise offered a lot of activities and entertainment. They were interactive, and were fun for all ages. I was very displeased with the RC wifi service. The ship was clean and had much to offer. Staff were exceptionally kind and efficient. Our dining experience was fabulous especially in the dining room at night. The variety of foods offered should have been good for anyone even people with restrictive diets. We ate in the Windjammer for most breakfast and lunch meals. Lots of activities available or you could just relax in your room, library, on the deck, on our room balcony or at the pool. I especially appreciated the adult pool area, but would recommend that the smoking area be located away from the pool area. We had great shore excursions. Our first cruise was awesome and addictive. We are looking forward to the next cruise. We can not say enough about our first cruise experience. We really enjoyed our cruise, the staff, the food, entertainment and most of all the friendliness of the crew. Our room was very clean and was well maintained by the room service crewman. He was friendly and Johnny on the spot. The balcony was spacious. We were very satisfied and choosing a suite was the best decision. Our waiter staff was awesome. They provided the best service possible and also provided some very interesting entertainment. They sang for us,did magic tricks and the entire waiter crew and cook staff sang, danced and paraded for us. It was the greatest. Without a doubt, we will more than happy to recommend Royal Carribbean, Adventure of the Sea, to all our friends and relatives. Keep up the good work. Read Less

The destinations were what attracted us. Some were new to us. We love to take off from Puerto Rico. We had cruised with RC before and we have always found them to be great service at a great price. They lived up to that standard on this cruise. The food was excellent, the ship's crew were great and our balcony room was outstanding. Everything about this cruise was top notch. We travelled from Puerto Rico to St. Maartens where we snorkeled with turtles and toured both the Dutch and French sides. We next went to St Kitts where we saw the rainforest, a 16th century fort and some amazing scenery. From there we went to Antigua were we circled the island in a catamaran did a lot of snorkeling and enjoyed a day on or near the water. We were not able to make St Lucia due to port problems so we went to Martinique. There we toured the port area. The last stop was Barbados where we toured the island, seeing a 16th century English church and lots of beautiful scenery of nature as well as some spectacular homes of the rich and famous. Read Less

If you are like us spend the little extra for an outside cabin with a balcony. Older folks don't do rock wall climbing and some othe the other younger folks do so it is important to have a lovely place to retire to to just relax and watch the world go by, it makes it a real vacation. I can't think of a better way to just relax and be treated like royalty, Regardless of where you are on the ship there is always someone readily available to provide you with help or information. As a senior male having rest rooms near by is always a concern. I found restrooms were everywhere and we always clean, this made my needs less awkward and easily deat with. I guess the attention to detail and your personal comfort are all that I need to make the choice to use Royal Caribbean. Enough said! Read Less

This is my 6th cruise with Royal Caribbean, my 3rd cruise out of San Juan. I really enjoy the islands, there is so much history, the tours are so interesting. I have already booked another cruise in Oct. out of Rome. The attention to service of all the staff is important to me, from the cabin steward, to the dining room waiters. The food is delicious, no matter where you choose to eat on the ship. I always enjoy the entertainment. It is always so nice to unpack only once and let RC take care of you for the rest of your cruise. RC makes it easy to book your choices before you cruise, ie, tours, drink packages, dinner reservations I take advantage of the early booking prices when ever I can. Also some tours are discounted if you book them early. I highly recommend RC Cruises to all my friends. Read Less

This cruise offers something for all members of the family. No one in our party of seven was ever without something fun to do or see. The food was excellent in every location provided for us to eat. The buffet seemed to never. The formal dinning is delightful. Quick snacks are always available. A game room is perfect for the calm rainy days or nights. Entertainment is top notch. Our cabin suited our needs. The refrigerator and ample electrical outlets were a delightful surprise. The TV is a large flat screen of good quality. Absolutely NO complaints. I can still feel the slow smooth rocking of the boat sending me into a deep restful sleep. Thank you Adventures of the Seas for making our vacation one to remember for a lifetime. Royal Caribbean has been the best we have cruised on. Considering and comparing the services and programs offered by other liners, we rated Royal Caribbean as the best. The cruise director has set the tone and momentum for our vacation and the staff's friendliness has captivated us. We do interact quite well with the staff and they do not hesitate to stop and spend time with us. The variety of events offered keeps us busy and well occupied during our 7 days cruise. The dining room staff extended themselves to provive special requested foods and this was well appreciated by our group of 20. The buffet had a wide variety and great options for breakfast and dinner. The staff was very helpful and serving. The cleanliness of the ship was what made an impression on us years ago and has maintained that standard today. The cost of this cruise was indeed value for money. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we have already experienced the western and eastern Caribbean. This one was available at the time that we could go. We have cruised on the Liberty, the Allure and this one, the Adventure. All are different and each has it's own advantages. This is the smaller one. It still was the largest at each port! The layout of the ship was easy for our pre-teen and teen grandchildren to feel comfortable finding their way around. One thing that I appreciated was the Deck Patrol that monitored the "saved" deck chairs by the pool. The adult area by the pool was quiet and a change from the family area. Since we were with family members, we used both areas. The dining staff was attentive. We asked for lemon for water the first night and every night after that, there was a little plate of lemons on the table. They remembered all our names by the second night. We were very happy with this cruise. Royal Caribbean did it again! Read Less

We chose this cruise for several reasons. Firstly, we needed a vacation, due to a colder and longer than normal Vancouver (Canada) winter. Second, we wanted to try a cruise line we had never booked before and had heard good things about RCI from a seasoned cruising friend of ours. Third, this was a longer than normal cruise, due to the ship having been privately chartered by a large insurance company for a staff cruise, but only for a few days so RCI filled in the remaining days with our 10 day cruise - great ! We also did a lot of online research into the Adventure of the Seas and found that she had recently undergone a multi million dollar re-fit, so we felt that this cruise and this ship would suit our needs well. As former Travel agents ourselves, from many years ago, we are always expecting good things, and this trip was fantastic. The ship was magnificent, the crew and staff onboard were well informed, courteous, and always able to make us feel right at home. The buffets onboard were able to keep food hot at all times and the quality and range of foods at all meals was exceptional. The Adventure is a majestic vessel with a stunning atrium, and you can watch the glass capsule type elevators going all the way up 14 floors high, from the bottom floors - you won't believe you are on a ship ! The board walk inside the ship is amazing - lined with shops, pubs, and a great "street" inside the ship where entertainers perform nightly to delight you. During the first 3 days we were onboard we found that the leaders of the shore excursions were difficult to find after you had walked onto the pier, and this was a little disconcerting but there seemed to be a general change onboard after the third day and there seemed to be a lot more attention being paid to detail after this. We were frequently approached at the main dining room during our meals, by the head waiter to make sure all was good with our meals. Perhaps there had been some complaining, who knows, but I would say overall that this cruise was an excellent choice overall and we would have no hesitation in doing it again or recommending it to others. We also write on Trip Adviser and enjoy travelling a lot and reviewing for others. Researching, before going on a vacation is the key to smoothing out the bumps as much as possible before going. With most vacations you get what you pay for and we were very well satisfied with our cruise. Don't hesitate - Book It ! Gordon and Barbara Foster, Vancouver, Canada. Read Less
