It was going where I wanted to go. My stateroom was right above the Dog pub so it kept me awake till midnight, however, did enjoy looking out over the promenade. Room wasn’t as clean as I hoped. Carpet stained, cigarette burns on bathroom sink, shelves not clean. Not much activity going on during the day. Twice I went to watch activity but no one showed up. Not ships fault, think more weather related and port call. Not happy with 2 immigration days nor was it for most passengers from what I heard. Should have done all Canadian ports at one time. This was my 15th cruise on RCCL and as always, the crew and service people were great. I ate most of my meals in Windjammer as I spent too much time at happy hour and missed my designated meal time. My first time dining basically in Windjammer and found it favorable. Always a nice selection of food and all you can eat. Come and go as I please. Read Less

Family cruise to a new area. The Adventure of the Seas is a well-run ship, and we experienced no troubling issues as we have on other RCI ships. We were pleased. The Adventure of the Seas staff had a Salute to Veterans on last sailing day which was a memorable, moving meeting of about 40-50 veterans of all military branches and ranks. Many wore identifying hats of their ships or branch of service. I was able to meet several former submariners and that made the celebration special to me. Go Navy! St. John, New Brunswick, on the Bay of Fundy was okay, but Bar Harbor and Peggy's Cove near Halifax were interesting and scenic. Would recommend tours in these ports. We thought that having two days in Halifax and skipping St. John would be preferable, but then there would only be two ports-of-call on a six-night cruise. Sailing days were limited basically to two full days, which did not really provide a lot of down time, and three days of ports-of-call back-to-back was a bit tiring to the "older" cruiser. Overall, a very nice cruise, great cruise, better-than-expected cruise quality was very nice to experience. Read Less

We wanted a longer cruise that was affordable, so we could choose some excursions. We enjoyed the hot tubs and the decor. Our cabin was perfect; fantastic location. except not enough room for my wheel chair.(The handicapped cabin was more expensive). Our room's caretaker was excellent. No room for improvement there either. She was a kind sweet young lady, very thorough. We even enjoyed chatting with her. The food was fantastic anywhere we went we were well accommodated in the DR.The main complaint we had was the constant loud music videos on deck, never any quiet time. We found this a bit distressing. Service was great all the way around with one exception, when I needed a break in the line at the cafe they would not accommodate me. I cant wait in line and I needed a snack. All the other food venues were closed. This was a concern. Outside this complaint the service was excellent.. Read Less

Everything was seamless- the boat was easy to navigate, crew went above an beyond to ensure a great experience. Our inside stateroom was perfect for the two of us... many storage compartments and beds and pillows were super comfortable. Many activities for teens. Entertainment was either very good or disappointing but the parties and outdoor movies were great. Food was delicious in both dining rooms. Valentines was celebrated with a fantastic chocolate buffet. I truly appreciated how the staff encourages people to wash hands. Issues: the app isn’t reliable , announcements can’t be heard in the cabin, smoking areas are not located in great areas..... casino stinks of smoke and the smoking area on deck 11 is too close to the doors and towel station... several of the staff at the customers service desk were not fluent in English which led to mistakes and misunderstandings. Our stateroom assistant was outstanding.... he couldn’t do more for us. Read Less

We are pretty loyal to Royal Caribbean and have been on 16 RCL cruises. First time on Adventure. It is a nice ship, well maintained. Our cabin (9654) was clean and had more storage than we needed. I like that the mini bar is empty and you order what you want put in there. Our balcony was a nice size and the chairs reclined. Cabin steward was nice, but reserved. I made a couple of requests (extra pillows and towels) and he was very accommodating at keeping the extra towels in the room. We purchased a 3 night Specialty Dining package in advance and won't do that again. We were told to book our 3 dinners as soon as we got on the ship or we might not get into the restaurants at a decent time, so we did. Turns out that EVERY reservation we made conflicted with a show we wanted to see, which we didn't find about out until the night before from our Cruise Compass. When we tried to change the reservation, there were no decent times left (only 6PM or 9PM). for alternative nights. The MDR, and our waiter/assistant waiter were so fantastic, that we wished we'd just dined there every night. Now for the "not so much"...the entertainment. If I see one more comedian joking about his colonoscopy I'm gonna scream. The featured singer obviously didn't feel like performing that night and the "variety shows" were shrill, disconnected and NOT about the title of the show. The Ice Show was good. We ALWAY enjoy the adult show "The Quest" and the cruise director made it a lot of fun. We have seen the 70's disco show a dozen times so skipped that. Some trivia games were fun, but some of the cruise director staff seemed tired and cranky at a few of them. The casino was way too smoky for us but I did run in long enough to lose $20 INSTANTLY on a Wheel of Fortune machine. LOL We still had fun and managed to relax, which is what we needed. We told our cabin steward when we met him that we are late sleepers and if we slept so late that he couldn't get to our room, that was fine with us. It happened often and everything worked out fine. I would definitely go back on Adventure of the Seas, for the cleanliness, itinerary, and food, but NOT for the entertainment. Read Less

We, because of price and spouse are "Loyal to Royal". But I'm serious thinking not such a great idea. If they are going to continue using older ships they really need to stop a day and CLEAN them thoroughly!! Entertainment was Excellent!! This class ship (as we sailed back-to-back with the Navigator of the Seas) won't be our choice anytime soon. **The plus is the food was good and entertainment also very good. The service in the dining room was lacking and definitely not what I would expect from Royal Caribbean. We had a wonderful excursion at St. Kitts, we've visited the island but never took one before. I highly recommend. It was for the Fort and Plantation house. Great Price and 5 star if you like history & views. Royal Caribbean needs new activities for folks that don't wish to sunbath & drink entire trip. Heck, I'd enjoy history lectures of islands visiting, etc. Just something new please. Read Less

We liked the 8 night cruise instead of 7. The embarkation was probably the best we have experienced in many, many cruises. There were 300 Diamond Members and 200 Diamond Plus Members - all stuffed into the lounge and spilling out into the Viking Crown Lounge. Luggage was delivered in ample time to unpack before muster. We are Diamond Plus with over 300 nights on Royal. However, We did not have robes - did not have shampoo - did not have lotion - did not have our free bottle of wine - when we entered the cabin. As it was a busy day, we were ok with it being delivered the next day. Surprise - not delivered on day 2 either!. When I asked the cabin steward about it - he said that we had to REQUEST those things or we wouldn't get them. I said OK - I request them. Everything but the wine was delivered that night. I called the Loyalty rep and had to leave a message. Day 3 was my birthday. Since it was formal night and the meal was steak - we planned to drink the red wine from Crown and Anchor.... You guessed it - NO WINE. No wine on Day 4. Finally after repeated trips to the loyalty desk - wine was delivered - only it was PINK WINE - not red. Another trip to the loyalty desk and a trade was made. The loyalty rep apologized profusely and said that we would be his guest to dinner at the Chops Grill to make up for the glitch. We were happy. Reservations were at 6:00. We checked in at 5:55 and were seated. We waited - waited - waited. It was 6:20 and we were still sitting... No message from the loyalty rep. We asked the waiter to please try to contact him to see if he was coming. We were informed that he would TRY to be there by 6:40 and we should go ahead and order. About 6:45 he showed up and scarfed up food while on his cellphone. He accepted 6 calls from various people during dinner. Needless to say - we couldn't wait to get out of there. We even skipped dessert. The ports were places we had been before, so we just did an overview tour. On San Juan, we did want to see the city but did not want to shop, so we signed up for the "Old and New San Juan" tour. We did it online and chose that tour because it did not include shopping. The driver went straight to the downtown area and kicked everybody off the bus for one hour to "shop". We objected and others objected as well, but he said he had to move the bus and we needed to leave. We wasted a whole hour of a 2 1/2 hour tour just sitting. When we complained - we were referred to "Freddie", Asst Mgr of the Tours and he told us that RCI Tours were not in charge of the tours and there was nothing he could do. Is there noone following up on these tours???? That's scary. The rest of the cruise was fun. The dining staff were excellent. Food was tasty and varied. We really liked the Diamond Breakfast areafor a quiet fresh breakfast. It is a nice perk. Disembarkation went about as smoothly as we have seen. All in all - We do enjoy cruising and we normally are treated very well on Royal. I think this was just a fluke. I sure hope so - because we are going again with Royal in February. If this repeats - we may have to re-think things...... Read Less

We chose this cruise for the timing, between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although we are veteran cruisers we had never sailed RCCL. The overall cruise was good (what's not to like on a cruise?). We found the staff generally friendly and accommodating. The main dining room provided surprisingly good food with superior service from our waiter, Joel, his assistant, Igety(sp?) and Amit, our section leader. Passengers, on the other hand, were exceptionally rude and ill mannered. Why, when you have a fixed table assignment, do you need to push others out of the way to get into the MDR? We also encountered some rude behavior by staff in the spa - remember the Julia Roberts character in "Pretty Woman"? These incidents were, however, isolated and did not significantly mar our overall experience. But we did come home with a few hundred dollars that had been earmarked for the spa, but went unspent. This was our first RC cruise. The ship was beautiful and the service was excellent. We ate in the Windjammer and the food was so much better than Carnival. My husband and I both gained weight. So many deserts, it was hard to choose one so we didnt just have one. If you take this cruise sit in section 12. The wait staff were all so sweet and helpful, I hated to say goodbye to them. We stayed in an inside promonade cabin. It was uncomfortable. Small and no place confortable to sit. It also was loud at times. Our cabin mate was wonderful and did everything he could do to try and soften up our bed but nothing worked. Our ports 1- Labadee is really beautiful, lots of fun in the water. And again the lunch they served was wonderful. 2- PR I love this place. Have been there a couple times. Just wear really comfortable broken in shoes. Don't get blisters like I did. See the fort and the cemetery and eat a mofongo and see if you can find the snow cone man (we couldn't find him this time) lots of walking and lovely shops. 3- St Maartin - we stayed at the boardwalk, shopped some We should have taken a tour. 4- St Kitts - we did the 4x4 and beach. It was ok, saw a lot of the island. The tour people were informative and very nice. We had already seen Brimstone on a prior cruise. If its your first time to the island Brimstone is the way to go. I was not able to get a lounger near the pool. It was always so crowded. My husband is a smoker so he sat at the smoking area on deck 11 all the time. No I will not be booking another cruise for a long time. I was more comfortable on the Carnival Ship. It was cheaper, the food wasn't as good so I didn't eat much and didn't gain weight. Having the smoking area near the pool causes a problem for a couple where one smokes and the other doesn't. if felt like I was always by myself. Read Less

Cruised with my wife and another couple choosing this cruise because of the 8 nights and ports of call. We are all Diamond members and have cruised exclusively on RCCL. Flew into Ft. Lauderdale the day before and enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Suites. Took a Taxi to the cruise port arriving at 10:45 am and was on the ship by 11:30 am eating lunch. Embarkation was smooth and all the RCCL workers were friendly and helpful. One change is that you do not get your sea pass card until you get to your room at 1 pm. One complaint is the muster drill. I know it is mandatory but our station was directly facing the sun and we were packed in like sardines for 20 minutes in 85 degree heat sweating profusely. Some people could not take it and walked inside to get some air, made me half sick to my stomach. We had a inside cabin on the 7th floor with a window facing the promenade and our room attendant Joel was excellent, keeping our room clean, stocked with ice and answering any questions we had. We ate in the MDR 6 nights and found the food very good. Some nights better than others but overall the selection was diverse. We ate in Chops and had a excellent meal and in Giovannis Table and found the food and service just OK. The Windjammer was very good for Breakfast and Lunch, especially enjoyed the fresh fruit everyday. Enjoyed the Ice Show and comedians and the RCCL singers and dancers were above average compared to some shows I have seen on other ships. One complaint is the Cruise Director was as plastic as you could get. Compared to some of the excellent Cruise Directors we have sailed with in the past he was below average. The Love and Marriage Game could have been better but he was just going through the motions. All 4 felt this way about him whenever he emceed an event. We have a motto that sometimes things are not going to be perfect so we go with the flow and don't let the small things bother you and ruin your vacation. The RCCL employees try hard to please everyone and keep the ship clean as possible in the time they have. I am an early riser and found employees cleaning at 6 am with a smile on there face and a Good Morning when I went for coffee. The pool area on Cruise Days were packed but we were able to find a place in the shade and if we wanted sun we sat on the edge of the pool enjoying the music and atmosphere. Because of the time of the year there were very few children on board. Labadee is a fun day, just a beautiful place to relax. Did not do excursions because we had been to the ports of call San Juan, St. Kitts and St Martin several times but still enjoy shopping at St. Martin and St. Kitts. The Diamond Club is a nice perk but with over 630 members on board RCCL needs to find an alternative to how people were served. The concierge was rude and not helpful and did not make RCCL any friends when asked about the situation. Especially when the serving area is packed in a room that seats an estimated 40 to 50 people. We are planning on cruising again on RCCL with an Hawaii Cruise on the Ovation of the Seas in the fall of 2019. Read Less

Cabin 7232 ..size of balcony was very nice. Lots of storage. But no special soaps and stuff like I'm use to. Windjammer (buffet) ..no service everything was self service and the choice of foods were limited . I only went here 2 times when forced . Promenade restaurant did a great job on pizza , also at breakfast had a small variety. But the food tasted good. Main dining, the service was great!!! Breakfast and lunch were good. Dinner had very little change from night to night, also was were most of our group had problems with the food. Fish really smelled. If you are vegetation or Vegan you will have a terrible time eating. The Promenade was dark , I always felt as if it were night. Lacked in shows. They didn't repeat the movies under the stars on the tv. I did like the new registration process. All the people working on the ship was amazing!! You could smell the smoke from the casino on deck 5 (casino is on deck 4) Don't leave anyone that is disabled down on the port .. Our friends were forgotten and had to work their way onto the ship. I think that is sad. Read Less

Dining, same menu every four days, and if you are in a section with Pinnacle or Suite, you will just have to wait!. The ship is well maintained, but who ever did the planning and ordering really messed up. Plus they have been doing this run for two months, so it should be history. The on ship activities are located in small venues, such as Triva in the Scooner Bar, people are sitting on the floors and they refuse to change to the larger lounge that is one flight up. Joe and I love cruising. We have always been 'Loyal to Royal' and are Diamond Plus--not that it matters, except it is relevant to our experiences on this cruise. It started out well--the air connections the cruise line arranged worked out well, though they were time-comsuming. We got to the airport in Quebec City tired after 17 hours of traveling. We had asked RCI for an airport to hotel transport (their choice hotel) and were told none were available (18 months before the cruise.) When we got to the airport, there were Royal Caribbean representatives collecting people for transport to the hotel. They would not include us since we had no reservation with them. So we hit the taxi stand. We told the dispatcher there that we wanted to go to the Marriott Courtyard Hotel. He quoted us the price for going to downtown Quebec City. Since we knew no better, we said okay and he called a cab. The driver again asked us where we were going and we told him the Marriott Courtyard. He said 'Which One?', and we were stymied. We thought there was only one, and had no address for it. He claimed there were two and took us to the one downtown. Well, the one downtown was NOT a Courtyard, and was twice the fare it would have cost to get to the 'Courtyard'. So we had to call another cab and pay another fare. Grrrrrr. Checkin the next day was less than perfect--no priority boarding, long lines, and at least one less than friendly cattle herder. However, room was good, dining and wait staff were good, and room attendant was good. Now we get to the really rude awakening: Happy Hour-4:30pm-8pm. This spring we had sailed on the Brilliance on a repositioning cruise from Tampa to Amsterdam. They, like Adventure on this cruise, had a HUGE percentage of Diamond and above cruisers (who but us old geezers and rich whippersnappers have the time for a repositioning cruise?) Unlike Adventure, they had prepared for it. The staff on Brilliance turned their largest 'ballroom' area into a diamond lounge, with a different theme and entertainment every night. We were happy, and the non-diamond passengers were happy because the other bars weren't packed with us monopolizing them for drinks off our allotted 3 a night. Everyone had a relaxing, pleasant voyage. In contrast, on Adventure the 43-seat diamond lounge was FULL from breakfast through 8 pm. The Viking Crown was almost as bad. If you weren't in a seat there by 2:30 pm, you could forget Happy Hour. For us, it isn't just about drinks. This is our socializing time. We enjoy talking to other couples. The ones we meet at Happy Hour have experiences similar to ours. It is easy to start a conversation and one thing leads to another--we have had some really good times in the Diamond Lounge on other cruises, including on Adventure. Sometimes the free drinks we get are Cokes--we're too old for sustained booze. Unlike Brilliance, this time the experience on Adventure was more like Mayhem. It was packed. If you got there at 2:30 so you actually had a seat, it was hard to carry on a conversation with all the people standing around your chair waiting for you to vacate it. The crew appeared powerless to change anything. Their 'fix' for 13 nights of mayhem was a final night show and buffet--both of which were so crowded you couldn't see the show or get to the buffet. Adventure and RCI, you need to do better--MUCH better! Now for the good stuff! The absolute best part of the cruise was the carriage ride in Acadia National Park. After a whole lot of rain and cold, we lucked out and got sunshine and mild temps for our excursion. The draft horses that pulled our 8-passenger wagon were Moses and Molly. It was an hour of absolutely gorgeous fall colors, trees, a driver who carried on a leisurely and intelligent commentary--more like a conversation--with us, stops to watch deer, and just a wonderful time enjoying the world we're blessed with. It was one of those experiences I'll have a hard time ever repeating. Take a look at the picture I'm attaching and you'll get some idea of what I mean. The other really good excursion was to the Anne of Green Gables House. If you've read any of Maude Montgomery's books, you'll really enjoy this one. If you haven't--at least take the walking trails. They are really worth doing. When we were there, it was a slow, dripping rain. We went through the house first. Best thing there was seeing the cupboard where 'the raspberry cordial' was kept. You have to read the book to appreciate it. After heading outside, we took the 'Lover's Leap' path. It was beautiful, and brought back memories of Montgomery's descriptions of where the children played. There were trees, a brook, a bridge across it, and steps leading upward. Definitely a fun adventure. Well, by this time we were soaked, our time to meet the bus was near, and although I wanted to do the other path, I had to go. Hope there's a next time! I'll try to add the picture I took on the path to my uploads. Adventure is a good ship. She has some really good folks in her crew. This was our fourth cruise on her and we enjoyed them all. Captain Szynkarczuk appeared to be very professional, and concerned only with the operation and command of his vessel--a very good thing, considering we had some stormy weather on the cruise, an unscheduled return to port for medical reasons, and some ticklish navigational situations. My impression is that he is a bit uncomfortable around passengers. He could stand to unbend just a bit. We're really not a bad lot. If you haven't taken this cruise, do it. I'm sure RCI will fix the Diamond Lounge problem, and all the Canadian and New England ports are well worth it. I just may go again myself. I want to walk that other path on PEI and take the longer carriage ride at Acadia. See you onboard! Read Less

Although the weather was not the best, this cruise offered a very interesting and fun itinerary including Canadian, New England and, finally, Florida ports. They did a good job of both embarkation and disembarkation, especially considering the large number of passengers boarding at the small terminal in Quebec City. The ship is in good shape, and qualifies as not too big and not too small. The food and service in the Main Dining Room is the best we’ve had in years—waiters were attentive always and actually did some of the “old fashioned” things like pull out the lady’s chair and spread your cloth napkin! The food and service in the buffet Windjammer also was good, both at lunch and breakfast, with many food choices. There were some very good, original performers in the Lyric Theatre on several nights—unfortunately, the performance times kept changing from night to night and we missed some shows because showtime cut into dinner time. The Schooner Lounge is a good place for the usual sing-along music, and was packed every night. But the ship could definitely upgrade the live music in the lounges, and increase the amount of time the singers and musicians play. Several of the lounges also need improved drink service. Also, there were no enrichment talks related to the interesting ports we visited—we especially missed this since the poor weather precluded everyone from spending very much time on the outside deck so there was little to do. Lastly, our cabin was very good (spacious balcony)—attendants kept everything tip top. Only complaint is that RCCL no longer provides bathrobes. Read Less

I'd chosen this cruise for our 41st wedding anniversary and planned it 10 months in advance. Everything was paid for, but I was still worried about hubby's mobility issues. Fortunately, RC gave me information on the vendor they use to rent electric scooter or wheelchairs. Hubby, however, refused. RC put us in a spacious, handicapped-accessible inside cabin near the elevator. Everyone from the boarding person and room housekeeper were very helpful and efficient. Dinner that first night on-board was great, as were the four other people we dined with. The food, and I'm a very picky eater, was very good - especially the creme broullie for dessert. But the first morning of the actual cruise, hubby's hand swelled up like a claw. The ship's clinic took basic blood tests and xray, put him on an antiobiotic drip, gave him pain meds, and then released him. The RC nurse phoned us to make sure he was feeling better. The pain killers weren't working. When we docked in Bar Harbor, Maine, RC's ship clinic doctor made arrangements for us to disembark and get driven to the Mt. Desert Island Hospital -- quite a scary name, right? But it turned out to be a real life saver. After doing an ultrasound, though, the hospital's orthopedic doc told us we could not return to the ship because we still lacked a diagnosis. The client care staff on board RC packed our suitcases and had their wonderful liason, Captain Ron, get me settled in the hotel across the street from the hospital. He was truly such a Godsend. The hotel had no available rooms left, so they gave me a suite at the same price. After a couple of days in the hospital and a diagnosis that hubby had experienced an adverse reaction to the Eloquist blood-thinner he was taking, we were back on our feet. Did I mention I also wound up in ER for stress-related causes? THANK GOODNESS WE HAD TRAVEL INSURANCE THROUGH TRAVEL GUARD FOR BOTH THE CRUISE, FLIGHTS, AND LODGING! That's another story. Read Less

Local guides told us Fall Foliage appears from mid to late October, we were 4-6 weeks too early. embarkation was smooth with no delays. Day 1 had excellent weather sunny and 75-80 degree temps. Day 2 cold, windy, and rain. Windjammer buffet had average tasting food, no variety 95% of the food was the same every day. Expected more local foods and items from New England e.g. Clam Chowder. Breakfast and snacks at Cafe Promenade were the same every day and mediocre at best. Food in Sapphire Dining room again was average at best. Didn't see any local favorites on menu. Some items e.g. the Steak Diane wasn't very edible and had to be replaced with a different entree. Service in Sapphire room however was excellent, the wait staff, Kenneth and Mohammed were the best. Cabin was neat and clean. Entertainment was average. Casino was to have low limit tables at times but bet minimum never changed. We thoroughly enjoyed the ship, itinerary and shore excursions. Our interior Promenade View cabin was what we expected. Very nice. The service in the dining rooms was very good. What we found disturbing is the food in the Main Dining rooms. Once upon a time customers raved about the inclusive meals. We, among others, found the inclusive meals tasteless. Beef had no flavor and most fish selections were dry. I had sirloin steak one night and prime rib another. Both had absolutely NO TASTE. Now in order to enjoy the food you MUST select the specialty restaurants. We went to Chops and had a fantastic meal. We did enjoy meals in the Windjammer. Windjammer had many selections and the food tasted like food.Disembarking in Qubec was outstanding. They have quite an orderly procedure. Just about everyone needed a taxito the airport. There was no mayhem. People waited online, were directed to an available taxi and were assisted in loading the luggage. Read Less

Embarkation and disembarkation was great, We had a back to back cruise, on the first half going to Canada we were in a balcony room, but not too bad, only complaint was the odor of dried urine which was always present, the room attendant did clean it a few times daily but it did not help much, storage was adequate for an older ship, but on the second half of our trip we had to move to a interior room with no window or view screen for the outside, there was no circulating fresh air which cause my husband to have increased sinus problems and me to have frequent nose bleeds, the room was small with no room to walk along the bedside, we had to approach the bed from the foot of the bed then get on our knees and crawl up to the head of the bed which was not easy for someone who has muscular problems and a need to go to the bathroom throughout the night. We only ate at the Windjammer and had difficulty finding seating most times maybe because most of the tables were large with couples taking a large table so they could eat together and the smaller tables where you can sit and eat while having a private conversation with your companion were not plentiful, all the tables were too close. The only good thing were the dining servers, most were very friendly and constantly there if you needed anything. There is much more i could say that was not good on this ship but i won't. I have enjoyed cruising in the past on Royal and plan on doing it again only not on Anthem of the Seas Read Less

We had sailed with RC 2 times prior and had satisfactory cruises. Friends had booked this cruise and invited us to join them. When trying to get anywhere on the fully booked ship, having so many elevators out of service was indeed a huge inconvenience. Some had no AC and were always packed tight. Getting around the ship proved difficult as you couldn't cross over to the other side easily. The shows were just mediocre. Drinks were way too pricey. The night I tried karaoke, a 2 year old was allowed to crawl right up to where the monitor was repeatedly. "Issac" said nothing. I asked If I could take one of the books to look at songs, (we were two seats from the front) He said 'no they must be kept up here. I said 'that's OK I understand.' Two minutes later he gave a book to a gentleman and his family sitting right beside us. What the heck!? Food was again mediocre except for the last night which was great. We loved out wait staff. Comedians were good. Hubby enjoyed the FlowRider and water slides. We loved the ports of call. It was a smooth sail. Overall the bad far outweighed the good for us and we will never be back. We traveled aboard the Addventure of the Seas with a party of sixteen, ranging in age from 6 to 72. Each person was extremely satisfied with their personal experience. We arrived within our scheduked boarding time and did not experience a line. I personally found time to relax, explore the ship, bask in the sun and engage in conversations with fellow travelers. The shows were very good but I would have enjoyed more variety, shows that would have gotten me on my feet preferably shows from the Motown and American Bandstand era. Our Jr. Suite was roomy and well maintained. The stateroom attendant was excellent never intrusive, always on point and performed his tasks around our schedule. Although the formal dining room provided excellant service with a variety of food, the WindJammer was our favorite. Most of our group visited on a regular basis and each time found a great variety of food that suited our taste perfectly. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of scheduling our cruise while on baord. However, our little travel group is in the process of deciding our next destination. We are 99% sure it will be aboard a Royal Caribbean ship. Read Less

The main dining room was very nice. Great food and the service was perfect. The Windjammer Café(Buffet) was the same food for the entire cruise. If you like hot dogs, hamburgers, and French fries put out every day, then you will like the buffet. The other food was a copy day after day...no variation at all. Not enough seats because the room just can not handle the crowds. You will hear messages to hurry you so others can eat too. The buffet closes its doors at 9pm...way to early...If you want to eat later, you are sent to the 5th floor in the Café Promenade where there are no selections unless you want to eat "pizza" every day...I say "Pizza" if you want to call it that. Very small room also. The pool was way to crowded and that is again because the ship can not handle the crowds. Entertainment was very good, nice shows and the Lyric theatre is nice. Too many areas to eat where you had to pay. I guess that is the way cruise ships are going now...Pay extra for almost everything..I must admit that I would not select that ship again on our next cruise..It was a nice ship to bring children, because they had lots of thing to do for the children. Again...this is my opinion and you must make your own decision here.. Read Less

We choose this cruise because it was early June and we didn't want so many kids aboard. We enjoyed our cruise overall but there were issues. The food at the Windjammer was terrible, same things every day at lunch and breakfast! I mean, same fish, same dishes, day after day. The MDR had good dinners and we had Alicia as out waiter, she is wonderful! The assistant waiter was Romnick and he was sweet but I guess still in training. Our room attendant was Frangella, kept our room clean neat during our stay. The toilet paper was so rough!!!! Come on Royal Caribbean, wouldn't you at least get softer toilet tissue? The venues looked fun but we couldn't get into anything as they were held on extremely small venues and there were no place to sit. The weather didn't cooperate but this is not Royal Caribbean's fault. We had a good cruise overall and would try another ship. Read Less

Adventure Of The Seas, is a beautiful ship. As residents of NY City, cruising from the NY/NJ area is very convinient to us. We have cruised other lines, but we love Royal Caribbean, therfore, Anthem of the Seas, is this ship we Cruise more. So when Royal Caribbean, brings over other ships we book them for variety. This time I loved the idea of cruising with Adventure again. Also the itinerary was very inciting for the change, and variety of ports of call. Embarkation and disembarkation is the easiest, simplest and fastest, that I ever experienced. I think Cape Liberty port, is the best port to sail from. We had a hump cabin, and enjoyed the balcony immensely, specially on days at sea when the Windjammer gets really busy. We picked up our food, and brought it to enjoy it in the balcony. The Cabin itself, was spacious and clean. Very comfortable. Entertainment, as always, Royal Caribbean did not disappoint us. A lot of fun on this ship. The cruise director and the RC entertainment staff were outstanding, not a dull moment onboard. We enjoyed a lot, the ice skating show, as well as the production, comedy and movies. Food overall is good. We have had better. Food in the Windjammer I found it very repetitive, meaning, almost every day the same thing for lunch and breakfast. The staff is outstanding, literally, everybody makes it, their business, to make sure you are happy. The Boomer part of it is, as a diamond plus member, the Diamond Club, is a very small area. It was always over crowded, it used to be that Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members had access to the suite Lounge. Not anymore, so the place feels very crowded and suffocating. We avoided it entirely but we couldn't help but feel kind of cheated. That is one of the highlights of our vacation. We counted Cruise point after cruise point until we reached this milestone, we want to enjoy the benefits... Read Less

A Friend found the trip and asked several people to go. There were 13 of us cruising together.. I thoroughly enjoyed the time cruising the North Atlantic and visiting the ports and shore excursions. I found the excursions fun and educational. The service and dining was excellent. The food for the most part was excellent. I can't say enough about all the ship's staff. They were always courteous and helpful..The entertainment was delightful and very entertaining. I found that the embarkation and disembarkation were extremely efficient and well organized..I would definitely cruise with Royal Caribbean again. Although I would have preferred the weather to be a bit warmer so that I would have enjoyed the pools and hot tubs. Although the weather did not cause me to not go ashore and participate in the shore excursions. The only shore excursion that was cold and windy was the Marine Wildlife. We all had hopes of seeing whales and other marine wildlife. We did not see whales but we did see dolphins and otters. Read Less
