ICELAND AND NORWAY

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

Our cruise started off well, check in was extremely speedy especially as we had sailed with RCI before. The staggered check in times seems to be working well even without the benefit of being a returning cruiser. Found our room quite easily - on this cruise we went for a Promenade inside cabin which had a window overlooking the Promenade deck. We did have a little noise on the two nights that ...

Firstly, Southampton is only 25 minutes away from where we live so we left our house at 12.30 and were in our stateroom by 1.10pm! Forty minutes ... not bad! Shame our luggage didn't appear until well after dinner! We dropped our hand luggage in the room and went for a stroll. I had already been on Navigator of the Seas so was aware of the Royal Promenade but my other half hadn't so his first ...

Nice Cruise Iceland Norway Cruise, BUT!

A large boat. Larger than we have cruised on. Somtimes bigger is not better. RCI touts this as a premiere ship. It has some severe limitations. Cruising the North Sea, with an OPEN area solarium pool is inconceivable. BOTH main pools are open. The Adventure is going to the Caribbean in November as well it should. Embarcation/Disembarcation Boarding and leaving the ship is ALWAYS a hassle. The ...

Very Dissapointed

My first cruise on RCI and had high expectations for an alleged 4 star cruiseline. Unfortunately the ship presentation, service and food was by a long way the worst out of the five ships I have sailed on. Boarding / Disembarkation This was probably one of the best things about the cruise. The Boarding process was quick and seamless. On disembarking we elected for self assisted and took our own ...

I was travelling alone and chose the cruise because of the ports visited. The embarkation was quick and easy, with lunch in the Windjammer self-service café. I went down to meet people in the Dog and Duck pub but only talked to a few of the group. Next morning was the Meet and Mingle arranged by the roll call. This is did not work for a number of reasons. First the time was changed to 9.30 instead ...

Having just returned from this cruise I thought that I would share my opinions with others.  This was the first time I had used this company so did not know what to expect, Arrived at Southampton and was soon on the ship process was smooth and staff very polite, was told cabin would be ready at 1pm we had a balcony on deck 7 so had a coffee at the Windjammer and room was ready as stated. Room ...

Last week we returned from a Baltic & Russia Norway Cruise. I had extremely high expectations of Royal Caribbean having travelled with them several times before. But we where slightly dissapointed the downside for me this time was the very tired staterooms stained carpets, furniture badly needing replaced, bathroom and shower facilities requiring attention and the entire cabin requireing some ...

Firstly let me give a big thanks to our waiting staff Romel and Nicole as I know they are going to read this, also thanks to James our steward all of whom did an excellent job. The embarkation was very quick but we had priority boarding so not sure how it was for others. once on board I noticed that the Union Flag was upside down (ship in distress) so I told one of the officers who did not know ...

Travelling with my husband and his mother we loved every moment of this cruise. Embarkation was quick and easy, we arrived at 1pm, the only drawback being the heavens opened just as we left the car with our luggage and we had no option but to get very wet walking from the blue badge car park which did not seem very close to the terminal. We had lunch in the Windjammer, which although was quite ...

Tired Ship - Time for a change RCCL

I was about to prepare a long review of this cruise for Iceland and Norway but Skandic6 has beaten me too it. His complaints are almost exactly the same as ours. The trip was very enjoyable but I am afraid that, since we started cruising with RCCL 10 years and 8 cruises ago, their standards have dropped considerably. The ship was very tired looking. Our Grand Suite (1568) was nice but close ...
