We chose this cruise because of the cost. It was a good deal. Maybe that was our firs mistake. The embarkation was disorganized; you didn't know what line to stand in. Next, the Windajammer Buffet was terrible. Rice and beans, hash, mashed potatoes were the first things that greeted you. Kids picking at the buffet, dropping food. As we walked down our corridor on the 7th floor, every single day there was maid carts in the way, discarded room service glasses and trays left for hours, vacuum cleaners in the aisle, even had to get out of the way of the staff vacuuming in front of the elevators. There was a bad smell in the corridors, couldn't identify it. This cruise was based out of Puerto Rico. We were told by other cruisers that residents of Puerto Rico got an insanely low cost to be on this cruise and we were definitely the minority. I believe the cuisine was catering to these folks. I will say, however, that Giovanni's Table was outstanding both nights we were there. Only good food on the cruise. Even the Dining Room food was sub par. Won't ever leave out of Puerto Rico again. This is our 9th cruise (have previously cruised with Carnival, Princess and Celebrity). The ship itself is in excellent condition. While it does show a bit of wear in a few spots, overall it is very well maintained, super clean. Embarkation was a breeze. We used the cruise line transfers to and from the ship and were very happy. Fast , efficient, comfortable. We had a balcony cabin on deck 8. The cabin had plenty of space. Well designed storage. The balcony was a bit smaller than the ones we have had on Princess, but it was fine for the 2 of us. I love having morning coffee and danish on the balcony- a great way to start the day. Really liked the design of the ship. Easy to navigate. excellent interactive electronic signage. Never got lost ob board. The staff were wonderful. Our cabin steward did a great job taking care of us and the cabin. The waiters in the Strauss dining room- second seating- were some of the best we ever had. The pace of dinner was just right. We had breakfast one day in the dining room, it was very good. The windjammer cafe was good. Nice variety. Never overcrowded. Our only criticism is the salad choices could be expanded. Romaine salad was good, but needed more variety. Lunches were a bit repetitive. Breakfast was good Compared to the other cruises that we have taken, RC did the best job with entertainment. Lots of things to do. Good production shows. Debarkation was organized and smooth. When you get off to claim your luggage, get a porter. Makes the process faster and easier. We had stops in St Thomas ( Sailing with captain max- very nice) , St Kitts (Day pass Mariott), Aruba -(day pass occidental grand)and Curacao ( tour with Sand and Stillettos- great tour guide). Posted reviews on Trip advisor. Overall, an excellent cruise, would recommend it !!!!! Read Less
