Not the best

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

I went on my first RCI cruise and I thought that I would be happy and satisfied with my experience. I wasn't, these were because of a few reasons. 1. My Time Dining: the concept does not work on this ship as you have to reserve a table for every night and not just turn up when you would like. If you are late you are shouted at by rude staff and forced to wait. 2. The in-ability to get a sun bed. ...

Anticipation better than reality

We were taking our daughter for her first Mediterranean cruise and joining two British couples for this much anticipated cruise. The ports were for the most part good...Cadiz was a waste and Barcelona was insanely crowded for mid September. The food in the dining room was substandard. We were told several times that Royal Caribbean had spent 13 million dollars on a new menu. They should have left ...

This was only our second sailing with RCI although we have done several Med cruises from Southampton with other lines. The embarkation was the smoothest I have ever encountered, there were plenty of staff around to help and the queue was non-existent, before we knew it we were boarding the ship. We were told our rooms would be ready at about 2pm so we grabbed a snack from the Windjammer and ...

We flew from Glasgow down to Southampton on May 9. Slight problem at embarkation as the RC check in employee didn't know how to work her computer. We waited patiently while she screwed her face up and pressed lots of buttons. It was obvious she was becoming more than a little stressed out. Meanwhile the operator next to her was merrily processing customers every couple of minutes and pulling over ...

Great, for the Spanish...

I had a good week on the Adventure of the Seas, and it was my first cruise. It was an enjoyable novelty but lacked a lot of aspects I've been led to expect from friends who went on other cruises. The staff were all great. Really friendly and - seemingly at least! - happy working there. Vasco in the fitness centre, our waiter Chris, and Harry from Mauritius were all excellent. And even on ...

First experience in longer, foreign cruise. The best part of the cruise was the RC staff who were outstanding with the exception of the final leg where we paid handsomely for the privilege of taking the RC bus transfer from the boat to the airport on the final day. There was no one in the luggage area or visible outside of the area to direct us to the bus. We wandered around for about 15 minutes ...

Just back from a family holiday on Adventure of the Seas out of Malag to celebrate my 60th and my son's 30th. Took my daughter and hubbie and grandson and my son (of course). My wife and I had told them of our previous experiences and particularly our liking of the Voyager class ship. Unfortunately we have seen a drop in the quality of the overall experience. The ship was tired looking - e.g. ...

So, now for the 2nd report. We took our children and grandchildren on this cruise to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We have done several cruises but this was a first with our children and the little ones. It was also their first time cruising. The check-in at Malaga was excellent and because we had 3 little one with us, we were directed to the priority check in desk. So that all went ...

Spanish Cruising good and bad

Malaga airport was not as we expected. We had a long wait for our luggage and then a stressful time being pointed in the right direction by different RCI staff. Arrived at the ships terminal and went through the various checks etc and eventually boarded the ship. The ship was impressive and very large looked like the start to a great holiday. Our balacony cabin was comfortable with plenty of ...

Not the Best Cruise we have had!

Malaga Cruise Port is undergoing building work, but no major inconvenience, at check in desk no more than 5 minutes and on ship within 20 minutes of arriving at port. As we were on the ship around 1.15pm we were able to go straight to our stateroom and leave any hand luggage that we had brought. As with all voyager class ships all staterooms are nearly the same regardless of what ship you are ...
