I was on Anthem of the Seas last spring and had an amazing cruise with a group of six people, which was my very first cruise. A week after being on Anthem we booked another cruise on Adventures of the Seas, this time we added two more people to our group making it a total of eight people. ( 5 women and 3 men ) The women in our group all had issues with cleanliness of the rooms and not completely satisfied with their dinner meals. Overall I was pretty pleased with my cruise however the music being played throughout ship was horrible to say the least. Half of the music selection was in Spanish and the acoustics were also terrible and even worse if someone was trying to make an announcement over the speakers. I found that the selection of music that I could actually understand ( English ) wasn't upbeat at all and the few songs played that were actually good songs were actually depressing songs. One would think being on a cruise the cruise director would want everyone to be upbeat and cheerful. Perhaps my next cruise I'll have to make sure to bring my own music and entertain myself. The staff on Adventures of the Seas, were all very nice and professional from my experiences with them however the crew didn't appear to be happy. Which was the complete opposite from Anthem of the Seas, their staff was very enthusiastic, fun and entertaining. Before disembarking Adventures of the Seas we stopped by the Next Cruise desk and to our surprise the next cruise offer was twice the price for one less day than the current cruise. Needless to say not one of the eight people in out group was up for paying double, so we will look for other options for our next cruise. Read Less

Smoothest embarkation and disembarkation yet. This was my 9th cruise and royal has it down to a science. We self assisted off and were in our shuttle before we were supposed to be getting off the ship. Adventure is a nice size ship, not too big and not too small. Cabins were very clean and this ship is hardly dated at all. Plenty of closet/storage space and mini fridge. The water slides are a blast. Dinner in the main dinning room is great. And the crew are the best and so very friendly. All seem to really love their jobs. Services was excellent all around. Loved our itinerary with a sea day, 4 ports and end with two more sea days. I highly recommend the Golden Eagle catamaran/snorkel excursion thru RC at St. Martens. Excellent snorkeling/beach and friendly crew. We did a walking tour of Old San Juan that included the fort-private tour for 6 of us through cruise planners. Ricky was great. St. Kitt's excursion was Capitol and Beach thru Island Paradise Tours that I found on Cruise Critic. Also a private tour for 8 of us. Only $37pp-great price and Stanley was a very nice guide that took good care of us. St. Martens, Labadee and St. Kitt's are all beautiful ports and a must see. The water is so blue. Ship is very relaxing or as wild as you want to be. From relaxing poolside to singing karaoke in the Schooner bar or gambling in the casino. We had six adults and all agree we would do this itinerary again! My adult nephew praised the gym. Said it was great for his daily work out. Read Less

Very nice ship with lots of activities if you want a chair at the pool, GO EARLY. Ppl get a chair and keep it all day. Food was very good. Most staff member were great, very polite and helpful. I did not care for our room steward. He just acted like we annoyed him. Our hallway smelled like sewer. They were doing daily work on something in our hallway. There were about 6 guys with open panals in our hall daily working all day. No other halls had an oder. Island stops were wonderful. The ship was sold out, so VERY CROWDED. The on boarding shops were more reasonably priced than I expected. She is a very pretty ship. The shows were well put together. Very talented performers. I would recommend the beverage package if you are a drinker. Drinks average about $12 for a mixed drink. We also used the new Key package. We loved the perks it offered. Read Less

50 year reunion of the Dupont High school Belle WV Embarkation and disembarking was very smooth although a long walk for each. Ship was very clean but hallways were quite narrow. problematic when stewart carts were in hall and room service trays left in hall. the were kicked several time by our party of four while walking the halls to public areas. Dining was much improved over the oasis of the seas i was on in november. Entertainment was very good. service was excellent and the people working on the ship seemed to enjoy their jobs and it does make a difference to see happy people. i did not bar drinking since their prices are twice the price you can get the onshore. i made no purchases other than 2 10 dollar tee's. i remember seeing a can of pringles for sale at the general store for 5.99. you can get these on shore for 1 dollar to 1.50. i love cruising but have been able to show restraint while onboard due to the nickel and dollaring done by the lines. i just wish they would be reasonable to the captive audience the have instead of trying to milk every one dry. i would bet if the charges half of what they do now they would increase sales to equal the profit they now receive Read Less

Everything was seamless- the boat was easy to navigate, crew went above an beyond to ensure a great experience. Our inside stateroom was perfect for the two of us... many storage compartments and beds and pillows were super comfortable. Many activities for teens. Entertainment was either very good or disappointing but the parties and outdoor movies were great. Food was delicious in both dining rooms. Valentines was celebrated with a fantastic chocolate buffet. I truly appreciated how the staff encourages people to wash hands. Issues: the app isn’t reliable , announcements can’t be heard in the cabin, smoking areas are not located in great areas..... casino stinks of smoke and the smoking area on deck 11 is too close to the doors and towel station... several of the staff at the customers service desk were not fluent in English which led to mistakes and misunderstandings. Our stateroom assistant was outstanding.... he couldn’t do more for us. Read Less

My husband and I went on this cruise for our honeymoon and we loved it so much we want to book another trip! We felt very pampered on this trip. The staff on this ship was amazing! The activity organizers were so much fun and there was so much to do on the ship that we were never bored. We played a lot of trivia each day and went to all the game shows. There was always someone there if you needed something on the ship and all the staff was very friendly. You did not even need to get off your but if you wanted a drink. There was always waiters walking around taking orders and bringing drinks. The ship was kept very clean. Our cabin was cleaned twice a day when we were at breakfast and dinner. There was always staff making sure that people washed their hands before entering the buffet. You never saw garbage around because they were always cleaning up and you often saw them scrubbing hand rails, menus, etc. Our room had lots of storage for all of our stuff. We had a balcony room that was very secluded from other balconies. The bed was so comfortable! We slept so good every single night. Our room was right next to the elevators which was great and the rooms were so quiet that you could not hear others in the rooms around you. The food was great. There was a large variety. Every meal in the dining room and specialty restaurants were three course meals. We thought they were very filling. We never went hungry on the ship because there was always something to eat. One of our favorite things was the breakfast food in the windjammer. The ports we went to seemed really safe and getting on and off the ship was simple and quick. We did one shore excursion through the ship and it was great! We would highly recommend the drink package if you are planning to drink. Beers on the ship cost $7 and almost all other drinks cost $12. The deluxe drink package includes as much bottled water you want and as much soda as you want. They have the CocaCola soda machines on the ship that have a variety of different options to choose from. They give you a souvenir cup to use on the machines. Without the drink package the only thing you can get for free on the ship is glasses of water, juice, tea, and coffee from the buffet. Almost all the drinks are $12 or less so they are covered under the drink package. This is for the specialty restaurants too. The only things not covered are Starbucks and some of the more expensive wines. Since we were on our honeymoon the crew gave us a card and left chocolate covered strawberries in our room. We both got $50 gift cards to the Spa as well. We loved that there was an adult only pool area as we were on our honeymoon and did not want to be bothered by children. We would definitely go on this cruise ship again. We chose to take our luggage off the ship on the last day ourselves and we were glad we did because that meant we could get off the ship first. The only thing that was hard for us was finding our airport transfer that we set up before the trip. There was not very good signage for this. There were people standing around that we could ask. I had never traveled on a Royal ship in the past so this was my first. The ship was nice with many bells and whistles I had not experienced in the past. I did not like that the Windjammer had restricted hours of service as I have pretty much been used to on other cruises. I was not crazy about the shows on the Adventure, but Mercedes and Isaac were fantastic. I was really hoping for a WOW factor for this cruise, but I was disappointed overall. Service was great for my cabin and the few dinners we had in the dining room. Lastly, I'm not one to complain a lot, but this was an 11th anniversary cruise and I ordered yellow roses to my room and when we arrived they had red roses which are not my wife's favorites. Maybe that got me off on a bad footing for the cruise. Read Less

Live in the area and wanted to visit the itinerary listed. Boarding went smoothly, room was ready. Entered and looked over Promenade and saw the folks across the way, waved to folks in elevator as a joke, but they waved back. Also noticed security camera outside my window, so curtains stayed closed for 8 days. Only opened for nightly wine time. Food in MDR was okay, often not hot since it seemed we were far from the kitchen. Staff were attentive, Axel did a great job! Need more variety for dinners too. Didn't book excursion, too pricey on ship and long lines of complaints. Walked around ports and had fun. Need to have towel checkout moved to opposite side of ship so you don't have to walk through the smokers. Agree with others stating, perpetual upsales as you walked ship were irritating. Also, Bingo pricing way higher from 6 mths ago. Productions shows were good, skating best show on board. Comedy shows dated, Sammy singer was unintelligible, bad mike?!? Main Band was very good. This was our 3rd cruise. We are working professionals, in our 40's, and have done two Princess cruises prior (2013, 2016). This was our shortest of the three (6 days). Our first impression at embarkation was ... this ship is moderately dated, dirty in the nooks and crannies, and poorly maintained. When we first entered our cabin, the first thing we noticed was the dirty, stained couch. Stains on the carpet, just not clean or kept up. The dining was pretty mediocre, as far as food quality. The food all tasted good, but was never very fresh tasting or looking. The presentation was pretty bland, too. The dinner service at the dining hall was very slow, even when we were among the first people for dinner. The wait staff at dinner seemed rushed and disinterested, pretty minimal conversation or discussion about the food, other than the bare minimum "Our specials tonight are ..." Entertainment was pretty good, not a lot of variety, but the dancers and singers were good. The ice dancers were probably my favorite (and I generally don't enjoy skating shows). The comedians were both entertaining. Three items that were probably deal-breakers for our next cruise: 1) $8.95 charge PER room service order - SAY WHAT?! Had our kids travelled with us, that would've cost us at least $150 extra! 2) Most of the in-room movies were unknowns, B or C movies, AND all were Pay-Per-View, at around $13 each! Again, WHAAAT??!! On Princess, the movies were included, many still in theaters, or at least newer; and 3) The poolside towel policy: check out towels and check them in, or be assessed a $25 CHARGE for each towel "lost"!? Are you kidding me? We are at sea, and those are $2 towels. Where do you think the towels are going? And who is going to take them? Just another way RCI tries to nickel-and-dime customers. The Flow-Rider was always very busy with long lines, the waterslides were fun and at the right time could be a short wait. Lots of kids on this one, but very crowded overall. It is very unlikely that I ever cruise RC again ... never say never, but I doubt it. Just unimpressed with this particular ship and staff. Sorry, RCI, I really wanted to like it. But compared to Princess (Regal), this one lost in spades. Read Less

Cabin 7232 ..size of balcony was very nice. Lots of storage. But no special soaps and stuff like I'm use to. Windjammer (buffet) ..no service everything was self service and the choice of foods were limited . I only went here 2 times when forced . Promenade restaurant did a great job on pizza , also at breakfast had a small variety. But the food tasted good. Main dining, the service was great!!! Breakfast and lunch were good. Dinner had very little change from night to night, also was were most of our group had problems with the food. Fish really smelled. If you are vegetation or Vegan you will have a terrible time eating. The Promenade was dark , I always felt as if it were night. Lacked in shows. They didn't repeat the movies under the stars on the tv. I did like the new registration process. All the people working on the ship was amazing!! You could smell the smoke from the casino on deck 5 (casino is on deck 4) Don't leave anyone that is disabled down on the port .. Our friends were forgotten and had to work their way onto the ship. I think that is sad. Read Less

Our departure city was Beyonne, New Jersey. We flew in the day before and stayed in Elizabeth, NJ where we ate dinner out but then stayed the rest of the night in our hotel room. We Ubered to the port the next day. Even though we went earlier than our assigned time, we were allowed to board. My husband had misplaced his boarding pass but the port staff were great and ran another copy for him. Embarkation went smooth and pretty quick since we had finished all paperwork ahead of time. The ship is a beautiful ship that is in pretty good shape. The rooms are a little bit older. The staff were all wonderful (friendly and helpful) and helped in any way needed. We chose the My Time dining in the Sapphire Room but ended up not going there anymore after the first 2 days. We were told that it would take a couple of hours each meal but decided we didn't want to spend the time on dining. My husband and I were traveling with another couple. The choices in the buffet line's were enormous and, of course, we ate too much (our fault, not the cruise line). Since the weather was cooler, a Fall Foliage Cruise, we were not able to take advantage of any of the outside activities normally offered by the ship so we were limited to the inside ones of which most cost money - quite a bit in my opinion. It was $40 for 3 games of Bingo. For this reason, and the fact that on our normal vacations here and over seas are filled with exploring, I was kind of bored on ship. I credit this to my issues as my husband doesn't play games. We did excursions every day they were offered. I had never been in this part of the country before so I looked forward to them. We did the Acadia National Park and Lobster Bake - the bus tour was uneventful, checking out the town was fun as it was a nice day and the lobster bake was very good; The Best of Portland and Kennebunkport - was an interesting ride as our tour guide was from there and she pointed interesting facts. When we drove through Kennebunkport, we saw a tent set up on the Bush compound and found out later that Barbara Bush was getting married under the tent.; Saint John and Bay of Fundy Top 10 - we had an interesting guide, who dressed in period costume, and filled us with information. We saw and learned a lot.; Top 10 Best of Halifax Tour - we feel this tour was awful because of our guide and the weather - rain. We kidded that we really saw about 1 or 2 of the top 10. Peggy's Cove was rainy and cold with so many buses (meaning so many people) it wasn't enjoyable. Added with the fact that most places were not opened for us as we were starving. Watch out for these excursions and what they do about lunch - sometimes not considered even if tour is during lunch hours. We do thank the cruise ship for crediting us 1/3 of our excursion costs since so many complained (some people even walked back to the ship at one point).; Baddeck Hop On & Off Sightseeing - enjoyable excursion in Baddeck (town). We explored on our own and ate on our own. After Baddeck we had time to explore Sydney, Cape Breton, as well.; The Island's Finest Scenic Drive, Anne and Lobster - our ship docking was late (and we had to leave 2 hours early because of the whale migration which, unfortunately, we saw none) so the schedule with other tours ran together which ended up with too many people at the same place and the same time. We went to Green Gables but did not have time to stand in the long line to get in. Our lobster lunch was delicious and was served in Glasgow by a restaurant owned by a man who was interesting and had a Irish brogue (?). He was so interesting, funny and entertaining. Then we had to go back. Disembarkation went smoothly considering the amount of people and luggage. We Ubered to our hotel as we stayed in Quebec City, Old Town, for a couple of more days. We loved this old town part even though it was cool and rainy. Obviously we arranged all of this part. We also arranged our flight in and home. We have another cruise scheduled, with the same couple, next summer with RC in the Baltic Sea. I'll see then if we enjoy the cruise part better or if we are better off flying in. Read Less

I'd chosen this cruise for our 41st wedding anniversary and planned it 10 months in advance. Everything was paid for, but I was still worried about hubby's mobility issues. Fortunately, RC gave me information on the vendor they use to rent electric scooter or wheelchairs. Hubby, however, refused. RC put us in a spacious, handicapped-accessible inside cabin near the elevator. Everyone from the boarding person and room housekeeper were very helpful and efficient. Dinner that first night on-board was great, as were the four other people we dined with. The food, and I'm a very picky eater, was very good - especially the creme broullie for dessert. But the first morning of the actual cruise, hubby's hand swelled up like a claw. The ship's clinic took basic blood tests and xray, put him on an antiobiotic drip, gave him pain meds, and then released him. The RC nurse phoned us to make sure he was feeling better. The pain killers weren't working. When we docked in Bar Harbor, Maine, RC's ship clinic doctor made arrangements for us to disembark and get driven to the Mt. Desert Island Hospital -- quite a scary name, right? But it turned out to be a real life saver. After doing an ultrasound, though, the hospital's orthopedic doc told us we could not return to the ship because we still lacked a diagnosis. The client care staff on board RC packed our suitcases and had their wonderful liason, Captain Ron, get me settled in the hotel across the street from the hospital. He was truly such a Godsend. The hotel had no available rooms left, so they gave me a suite at the same price. After a couple of days in the hospital and a diagnosis that hubby had experienced an adverse reaction to the Eloquist blood-thinner he was taking, we were back on our feet. Did I mention I also wound up in ER for stress-related causes? THANK GOODNESS WE HAD TRAVEL INSURANCE THROUGH TRAVEL GUARD FOR BOTH THE CRUISE, FLIGHTS, AND LODGING! That's another story. Read Less

View Fall Foliage in Canada and New England areas. There was NO fall foliage. Local guides told us Fall Foliage appears from mid to late October, we were 4-6 weeks too early. embarkation was smooth with no delays. Day 1 had excellent weather sunny and 75-80 degree temps. Day 2 cold, windy, and rain. Windjammer buffet had average tasting food, no variety 95% of the food was the same every day. Expected more local foods and items from New England e.g. Clam Chowder. Breakfast and snacks at Cafe Promenade were the same every day and mediocre at best. Food in Sapphire Dining room again was average at best. Didn't see any local favorites on menu. Some items e.g. the Steak Diane wasn't very edible and had to be replaced with a different entree. Service in Sapphire room however was excellent, the wait staff, Kenneth and Mohammed were the best. Cabin was neat and clean. Entertainment was average. Casino was to have low limit tables at times but bet minimum never changed. The entire time 2 elevators never worked and 2 others worked occasionally. Read Less

We thoroughly enjoyed the ship, itinerary and shore excursions. Our interior Promenade View cabin was what we expected. Very nice. The service in the dining rooms was very good. What we found disturbing is the food in the Main Dining rooms. Once upon a time customers raved about the inclusive meals. We, among others, found the inclusive meals tasteless. Beef had no flavor and most fish selections were dry. I had sirloin steak one night and prime rib another. Both had absolutely NO TASTE. Now in order to enjoy the food you MUST select the specialty restaurants. We went to Chops and had a fantastic meal. We did enjoy meals in the Windjammer. Windjammer had many selections and the food tasted like food.Disembarking in Qubec was outstanding. They have quite an orderly procedure. Just about everyone needed a taxito the airport. There was no mayhem. People waited online, were directed to an available taxi and were assisted in loading the luggage. Read Less

I went on this cruise with friends which i usually do so i always go with the flow. The ports such as Bar Harbor were exceptional as was portland maine. The 2 ports in Halifax and New Brunswick in Canada were sub par. New Brunswick was a run down town and had absolutely nothing within walking distance. the town was simply boring. Halifax had a decent museum. The dining experience outside of 1-2 nights our service was so so in the main dining room & the my time dining setup was a disaster from the very 1st day. Noone told us until we got to the dining room that you had to make a reservation for my time dining. It got fixed by the 3rd night but by then the damage was already done. the late night food selection was terrible. it was pizza or some cheap excuse for a sandwich. other ships had more food to choose from. the selection was just average. Our cabin attendant was just horrible and kept forgetting to give us towels at least 4 times. We had to ask for them over and over as well as having a poor excuse for a refrigerator. David Curtis who played piano and was hilarious all week with his random singing of the best songs. He kept us busy and often stayed well past his allotted time. Simply put he was the best cruise entertainment i ever saw in the 5 cruises I have been on. He made the cruise for me. Otherwise this ship is dated and not all that exciting. Read Less

We chose this cruise because our normal cruise line did not have the dates we needed. Will never go on a Royal Caribbean again. Lots of stuff trying to be sold to you. It was not a celebration at all. No music or DJ poolside. At one point people started singing themselves because it was sooo boring. We usually cruise Norwegian and from the moment you leave port it is a celebration. Private island felt not completed. We watched people fall or almost fall over and over again in the pool area. Stone used was much more for looks then for safety. There was no one at the boat to meet us coming back from excursions. The one day the weather was horrible and everyone came back soaked. We were met by security people only and no one from the ship came down and offered towels or assistance. Shocked that they still allowed smoking in the ship without a ventilation system of some sort to pull some of the smoke out. Also smoking on deck with no separation so if you were on the opposite side of the deck you still got hit with smoke. Read Less

Went on Royal Caribbean before. Overall, it was a good vacation with lots to eat and drink. We got what you might expect from a cruise. We had a great time at the NASA space center and The Atlantis resort. The Atlantis tickets we did buy ourselves and took a taxi over. It was much cheaper and was able to spend more time in the park. The whole crew was very friendly and will work hard to please. We booked an owners suite which was very big and nice for three people. I would recommend booking one of the 'suites' as you get many extras. Select pool areas on the boat and at Coco Cay, special seating at shows, early departure and best of all the suite lounge. Many items I believe are overpriced such as the excursions, the internet package, high-end restaurants and many items sold in the shops on board. Overall, I felt better excursions could have been offered and I have gotten much better deals with more of an 'experience' on vacations in Mexico and Punta Cana. The drinks are very strong which seems good early on but the quality in taste was lacking. I found myself telling bartenders how to mix drinks(amounts). The dining times, and main dining was very confusing and had long lines at times. We signed up for 'My time' but we were put in different areas on some nights and they let people just walk in and sit where they wanted. I know it's a cruise and they want to please but when you have long lines you have to say 'no' to someone that just plops themselves anywhere. Read Less

We left on a Friday from Bayonne, It took almost an HOUR to get from the main entrance to the unloading section. People were actually walking to the pier, really bad start to a trip! Cruised with them once before which is why we chose them again. Food on board excellent except for Dinner in the Windjammer on day 7 it was was not as tasty as we preferred and a little dried out. Found a hair in my wife's food while at Chops grill, they made it right but was really a turn off, Giovanni's restaurant food was much better. Did the "murder mystery" at Giovanni's. Typical entertainment but the venue is set up with 8 long tables. Chairs are so close together that its almost impossible to get up! Main Dining room food and staff was okay but when you walk in to the Windjammer, you'll see the same food as in the main dining room ! Coco Cay excursion was nice. Umbrella rentals are $30 and floating rafts are $28 . Beware, you will need an umbrella and be prepared to tip the guy that brings it to the lounge chairs, the sand is so hard they need to drill into the sand believe it or not! Pearl Island excursion was worth every cent! Short boat trip and it was an enjoyable one. Food was absolutely delicious on Pearl Island. No complaints at all! If you are looking for a nice , quiet relaxing few hours , this is the place. Nassau Bahamas is full of Tee shirt joints. You are better off buying them on the boat. There are things like coffee mugs etc in the tee shirt shops in Nassau but the shirts on the boat are better and cheaper! Read Less

This was our 3rd RC cruise and, as always, it didn't disappoint. Despite this ship not being in the class of the Anthem that we sailed on last year, this ship was well maintained despite being an older ship. Check-in at Cape Liberty was extremely fast and we got in quickly via the Suite line. I was annoyed with the attendant giving me grief for going under the rope due to being directed to the wrong line. Our cabin was great though the shower curtain was missing a ring (broken). My one gripe on all RC cruises are the firm mattresses that bother my wife but they've always taken care of our request for a pad. I recommend requesting this beforehand as we will on our next cruise. Our attendant Michael was great and took care of our special requests (distilled water, extension and mattress pad). Food on RC is always excellent (restaurant, buffet & cafe) and is one of the reasons we will always sail on RC. The dining room experience was great and makes you feel that you're on vacation and don't have to worry about cooking. Wait staff was excellent and it helps when they remember your drink preferences. Buffet in the Windjammer is a great option if you want to eat quickly and get back to other events. The variety is excellent and I heard the Jamaican cuisine was great and I enjoyed the Indian cuisine they made. Head chef was of Indian descent which may have helped. There's a lot activities for those that want to hang by the pool, casino, flow-ride (not me) participate in trivia or events like origami. Nightly entertainment was good with singing/dancing, ice skating and comedians though some times conflicted with dinner times (7 & 9 pm events work best). We also indulged in the spa that was well laid out, maintained and our treatment was great - recommend early in the cruise. Some of the night club events were good but too short. Silent and all-white themed parties are great but 1 hour isn't worthwhile. They also need to cater better to the older crowd at the bars/clubs. I'm sure some of the younger crowd feels the same. Shore excursions were fine but some stops were too short. 2+ hours of travel to Orlando doesn't seem worthwhile given cost and the amount of time spent in the parks (min. 8 hours in the parks; esp. Disney or Universal). We went to Sea World and experienced more though it rained and wasn't as crowded. Coco Cay requires the shuttle boats from the ship which is time consuming but I'll give them a pass since it's new and they're building a dock. It will probably be great once all is said and done. Food was excellent on the island but you couldn't get some drinks (pina coladas) at certain bars. We enjoyed the jet-skis there. Nassau has a lot more options but save up those funds because anything Atlantis based is pricey (limited discounts even with pre-paying). I blame Atlantis more than RC. Wanted to go to the Atlantis Water Park but passed on principle on the pricing. We went to Pearl Island which was fine with beach access and snorkeling. Food was very good though I don't like nickeling and diming on rum punch - sorry should be included. Water was reasonably priced and you received a comp photo. This trip could have been a bit longer also but I'd still recommend. RC has set a high standard for us every time we cruise with them and they continue to deliver. I highly recommend to others but save up because you have to pay to play - it's worth it. Read Less

We did 2 perfect cruises in Europe with RCC but the Behama cruise was not good. 8:00 in the morning all the chairs at the pools were taken by bleu towels. Policy RCC: The reserving of deck chairs is not permitted. Items left unattended on deck chairs for more than 30 minutes may be claimed at the towel stand. (shield on all the pools). We have seen a family of 4 with 8 towels taking 4 chairs in the shade and 4 in the sun. When complaining...RCC personel did not react. Even people put there towels before they made an excursion. Formal dinner evening. Policy: No shorts or slippers are alowed. First man in the line had schort and slippers to go in te main dining room. No problem, nobody said anything. Policy? None. Food in the dining room not so refined as in europ. 5 of 10 items returned nearly everyday. Mash patato was part of a lot of dishes. In comparison with the cruises we did with RCC in europ was this a bad experience with a lot of undiciplined Americans and there children loading up mass food, take a few bytes and left the rest. I was ashamed in there place. Imaging what the Indian staff must think. In there country are still people starving. In my opinion RCC is going backwords in not holding on to there own policy and except everyting from ther guest as long as it brings money everyting seems to be allowed. Taking drinks in the pool? No problem. Drinks in the jacusi? No problem. Shorts with formal dining? No problem. I don't think we wil choose RCC ever again. Read Less

We were a family group of 12 adults from NY & Boston. We chose this cruise based on the departure port and ports of call. It was affordable and the departure port was easy to get to. We all did our online check in so once at the pier we were on the ship in a few minutes. We arrived by 11am and on the ship by 11:30am. Staff was great from the start. WJ was packed so we headed to the Cafe Promenade for lunch. Cabins were ready by 1pm and were clean and comfy. We had an aft balcony cabin 7674. Views were great throughout the sailing. Very quiet location as well. We had late seating in the MDR at 8pm. We missed some trivia games because of this. Dinner was served promptly and we were done by 9:15 most nights. The food was good but I do agree with some others that the quality has changed. Some dishes lacked flavor but we never went hungry. Our head waitress was great but her assistant was very inexperienced. She was better on day 3 though after being spoken to. Hand sanitizer could be found throughout the ship. WJ breakfast was the same everyday and the food was tasty. MDR breakfast was good. Lunch in the WJ was the same everyday and I did not care for the choices. I was looking for cold cuts (deli meat) but that was only served at breakfast. Cafe promenade was good. Ports of call were good BUT we didn't get off the ship at Port Canaveral so we could take advantage of the slides being less crowded. To our surprise they were closed while we were in port. No pool activities or music either. We were surprised because more than half the passengers stayed on board. Shops were closed too. Coco Cay was nice and we went to the beach where the floating bar was. It was less crowded and we had no problem finding shade. We saw a huge stingray by the waters edge as soon as we arrived. We also saw a juvenile lemon shark (about 3 ft long) swim by a few feet in front of us. I ran out of the water but my cousin stayed. He ended up circling the floating bar and my husband almost jumped on him when he was exiting the bar. The bartender chases the shark away and he never caused a problem. Nassau was great and we had been there several times before. We knew to go to Cabbage beach. We were brought to a touristy area and were harrassed by locals selling umbrellas, lounges and drinks as well as water sports. We stayed on a resort there before and had not seen it this bad. We simply said no thank you and they eventually left us alone. My son's friend has recognized one of the bartenders from the beach bar from a previous trip. He hooked us up with coconut drinks. We rented an umbrella farther away from the crowd and enjoyed the crystal clear water for the day. Taxis were accessible by the port and readily available by the beach. All activities on board were great and CD was good. Bingo was held in the Imperial Lounge which was too small to accommodate all who attended and we ended up sitting on the floor. There is plenty to do on this ship. The white party was lame. My adult children thought it was awful. No CD or anything just music playing on the sports deck. I couldn't figure out why we needed to wear white either? No black lights or anything. The lines for the slides weren't too bad and moved quickly. Last night of the cruise bars closed earlier as I think they were trying to get passengers to bed for disembarkation the following morning. We saw crew members clean all surfaces and smelled bleach so they do a great job disinfecting. Disembarkation was a breeze. Our number was called and a crew member grabbed us off a long line and brought us to the front of the ship. Our sea pass cards were swiped and as easy as it was getting on the ship, it was just as easy getting off. We had 2 medevacs this sailing and the captain kept us well informed. The first medevac was on day 2. We had to sail closer to the SC shore so the coast guard could pick up the patient. We arrived in Port Canaveral about an hour late. The captain kept us well informed but sped up as to not make us any later. It caused the ship to rock a bit more. The 2nd medevac happened in Nassau. We were pulling out of the port and only 5 min into the trip we were backing up into the port again. An ambulance arrived to take the patient to the hospital and away we went. We arrived on schedule in Bayonne. All in all it was a great family vacation but we did see a few changes that were made since our last Royal cruise. Staff was great but quality of food has changed. With that said we would still chose Royal again. Read Less

The cruise staff was very nice . Ship is clean . The dining room food needs improvement. Over all the trip was very nice. This is the first time I lost weight on a cruise . Happy about that , still wish the food was like it use to be. The buffet use to be open at midnight . It is no longer open , They use to have an ice sculptures and food on pool side night . They didnt have a show in the dining room. A lot has changed . A little disappointed. My family members were a little disappointed as well . What I told them about wasn’t what they experienced. They still had a good time . It definitely could have been a better experience for everyone . The kids wanted to take the tour of the ship . $89 for a ship tour . Everything is so pricey . I wasn’t happy with telling the kids they could’nt take the tour. It was very expensive if you have 3 kids and 2 adults. Read Less

My 17 year old daughter and I took this trip on Adventure of the Sea for a quick dose of Bahamas fun in the sun. It was exactly that, on and off the ship. We enjoyed the spa. We ate our evening meals in the specialty restaurants. The food was very good. The evening on deck movies were very enjoyable. The casino as always onboard Royal Caribbean is a blast. Wonderful staff are always ready for a good time. Win or lose the Royale Casino is always a great time! Our stateroom 6204 did not have a balcony. I thought I would be very unhappy, but I was fine! The room felt spacios. We woke every morning to a beautiful view from our large round window. The linens on the bed are extremely soft and comfortable. We always woke up happy and refreshed. All of the ports were a lot of fun. Getting on and off the ship was very organized. This made each day stress free and extremely enjoyable! Thank you for the great memories !!! 10++++ to Rolly in the Saphire dining room. Read Less

I was very disappointed overall entire cruise . The food was average . The lack of choices of women could go without having to pay to eat was minimal . The cleanliness of the ship was disappointing .My state room bathroom had a terrible smell of urine the entire time which my state room attendant tried multiple times to clean but he was unable to rid this smell. There was only one ice cream machine on the entire ship and many times when we went there it was shut down for service . The when jammer which was it a fair shot down by 9 o’clock at night there’s really no place to go get food if you want to late night snack other in the promenade which had very limited selection of food . our first day of getting off the ship the lines were insane and took about an hour and a half to get off there was no organization . I felt there was no direction or information regarding any of the excursions been trying to get help and the shows and entertainment in my opinion awful . Have been on more than seven cruises on various cruise lines and this by far was the worst . Also my son was eating a piece of chicken and a piece of toothpick was in the food and got lodged into his throat . The one thing I do need to say all of the workers were very pleasant and very nice . Many people who I spoke with on the ship who had sailed on Royal Caribbean prior said this was the worst Royal Caribbean cruise they had been on so I don’t know what happened on this particular sailing . also felt like they just tried to get additional money out of you at every corner you turned . Ship look like other than the main promenade that he just needed to be upgraded and renovated it looked worn down and just was not maintained to a cleanliness standards that should have been . My girlfriend and I did a 7 day Royal Caribbean cruise with stops at Port Canaveral, Coco Cay and Nassau, Bahamas. The crew made the cruise as great as it was. From the wait staff, to the bartenders, to the room service, to the entertainers, Royal Caribbean’s staff was amazing throughout. Our cabin was cleaned and spotless everyday. The breakfast buffet was full and plenty everyday. The wait staff was impeccable during our evening dining and the bartenders were fast and friendly. Royal Caribbean made shore excursions easy to get to and were very well organized. The pool side entertainment and late night entertainment was one of the many highlights of our trip. The singers and dancers were fantastic. The comedians were hilarious. The magician was blindblowing and the entertainment staff provided us with fun and laughs throughout. This was my first cruise and I could not be any happier with my decision to cruise with Royal Caribbean. I would highly recommend cruising with Royal Caribbean and would also highly recommend the Adventure of the Seas. Read Less
