Affordable alternative to travel where You have almost everything at a arms length.. The ship is large with many theme restaurants, shops, pools, outdoor theater, sun decks, entertainment theaters, a casino and a lot of quiet places to relax, lie down, read, game room, library just to mention a few. The cabin was excellent, the dining alternatives, at he formal dining room and the windjammer lounge offered a variety of food for all to chose. The daily entertainment and evening activities and service is very outstanding. There was a variety of port excursions.I chose to do local tourist on foot in the proximity of the ports visited. The maps provided by the cruise line were very good. Being a local of San Juan I found the embarkation facilities in San Juan very run down, neglected and dirty, I cannot say that of the islands visited. Overall our cabin attendant Ms Milagro Thyne room 9642 and head waiter at our table 422 Mr Michael Jackson and his attendant Muhammad were efficient and professional. The disembarkation facilities are rather small in San Juan compared to the amount of passengers it has to handle, the parking is inadequate and more coordination is needed by the tourism authorities to make this pleasant. Puerto Rico has to learn from islands such as Barbados, Martinica,St Lucia that with smaller ports handled things very smoothly. Read Less

This was our fourth cruise with Royal Caribbean and will not be the last. I Cruised with Carnival Cruise Line before and had a bad experience, so this is why we switched over to RC. The overall all entertainment experience on board the ship is better and meets if not exceeds our expectations. There is always something to do on the ship whether you are in port or at sea. The evening shows are absolutely awesome. Their band and musicians are topnotch! This ship has an ice skating rink that you can use and a show that they put on. I would like to see a better show. It almost look like the same show we seen a year and a half ago, just different skaters. As for the food, the food was pretty good. Our wait staff always seems to go the extra mile to accommodate the kids and make sure they are satisfied and laughing. I am not one to play games at the dinner table but I did make an exception with our waiter since he was the one pretty much in charge of making the kids laugh. Thanks Anthony! Overall A great Experience. Our port of calls were nice as well. We have been to these islands before as well and took part in one of the excursions with our children that we did once before. The excursion wasn't as good but, maybe it wasn't because we had been on it before. If you have a chance to go to St. Johns, Antigua do the Kayak and Snorkel Eco Adventure Excursion. It is a great family excursion you will not only have fun with but you will actually learn as well. Read Less

The ship was marvelous and wide, with a lot of space, activities, bars and entertainments. We were a lot of people on the ship (the cruise was complete), but it was so wide that we didn't have the impression we were so many. It was very pleasant. The stateroom was spacious and clean, with a wide balcony and a lot of storage space for the clothes. The quantity and diversity of the meals in the dining rooms were perfect. We didn't eat two times the same thing during the seven days. It was a fantastic experience for senses. The card of wines was very diversified and complete, with a lot of choice by bottle or by glass. The shore excursions were very interesting and informative. We visited St-Marteen, St-Kitts, Antigua, La Martinique, Barbados. The guides was friendly and knew the history and culture of their islands. They presented some anecdotes, that we don't find in the history or geography books. We appreciated. All the staff in the ship was very professional, very efficient and welcoming. It appeared that they liked their job and they had pleasure to be with us. Read Less

My first experience on a cruise was on a Royal Caribbean cruise line and i will never look back. Exceptional service all around. Cruise ship staff makes everyone feels at home and like one big family. A lot to do on board, great excursion stops, excellent food. This cruise line offer clean atmosphere, family style vacation, romantic vacation all wrapped up in one. Not a drinker myself,i see a lot of satisfied cruisers been attended to by the bartenders at the bars. On board entertainments is very high. All the shows are exceptional, well choegraphed for both adults and family. Checking in and off the ship was quite a breeze. No hassle from the time you hand your luggage to be loaded until you get off. Food choice at the buffet and dinner room are excellent choices and something for everyone to enjoy. As i said this Cruise line is like home to me and i will recommend it to everyone who will listen and review my pictures. Thanks once again for your service and see you soon on my next excursions. This was an experience, 10 day cruise and 7 ports of call and loads to do on and off ship could not fault anything. The dinning experience was excellent. Bar service excellent. Room service excellent. Activities to many to choose. All the staff were very helpful and friendly..Entertainment team Brilliant. Spa had an excellent range of treatments but I thought expensive. Pool area outstanding lots of places to sit and a full cinema screen were you can watch movies, video clips and trivia quiz. The main pool deck had 4 jacuzzis in total and the solarium had one very big one. Only disapointment for me shops on board not very well stocked, Starbucks ran out of caramel after 3 days and they stopped putting the days of the week in the lift floor every morning, apparently someone complained that they were on holiday and did not want to know what day of the week it was. Would definetly do again if the had 10 day cruise available only tend to do 7 days not long enough Read Less

We wanted to duplicate our honeymoon cruise some 21 years ago. We flew down to san Juan 2 days in advance to take in the sites in Old San Juan and to sample the local restaurants. (Pannes restaurant in the Coronado District was so good we ate there twice) The Adventure of the Seas (Voyager Class) has been recently refurbished and has many of the amenities you'll find on newer RCCL ships. It is due for another upgrade in Nov. 2016 which will add even more restaurants, entertainment and outdoor activity venues. The ship is clean, well maintained and the crew was very pleasant and helpful. There is more than plenty to do aboard ship to keep you busy. There is also many places to go to for quiet time. Entertainment was very good and a nice variety. The food was good but nothing special. Our cruise visited 5 ports along the Lesser Antilles. One of the things that makes this cruise unique is that at every stop we were the only ship in port. Something you would rarely see in places like Nassau or Cozumel. The ports, with the exception of Antigua, were clean and friendly. The shop keepers, tour guides and taxi drivers on Antigua are aggressive and don't take no easily. Just be prepared! I would definitely recommend this cruise. Read Less

This was our 4th RCL cruise. We booked and enjoyed JS 1244 on the 10th deck. The embarkation went extremely smooth. We had a pre & post stay at the Doubletree Hilton in San Juan. From the time we reached the pier to the pool area was less than 20 minutes. One thing I really liked was the ability to say NO to pictures throughout the cruise. And no offers for a drink before we even got on board. Kudos to RCL. We had Anytime dining in the Mozart Room. Kudo to staff. Food was superb every night. I got lobster on night and am still dreaming about it. We ate other time in Winjammer. Others thought food was not so good from past postings. I enjoyed it, food was tasty. And like we planned we could always eat elsewhere if we wanted to. A few times we ate in Conseguire Room. One comment on ALL dining - need more comfortable and a bit larger chairs. Saw lots of oversized cruisers unable to sit in dining chairs. This cruise we decided to be laid back, only saw one show. Pretty good. Again chairs need to be redesigned. Also hated stadium seating. I liked the old way of sitting around small tables in clusters. Service was outstanding, as always. Wish that the Adult Pool area was just that NO young teens, there were a few that upset me. Ports were great. We did not book excursions through ship, used trip advisor. Also we went to Marriotts in St. Thomas and Curacao for their one day beach passes. I really enjoyed our double balcony from our cabin. It had a table and chairs and a lounge chair. I suffered heat stroke a couple of port days so I had to rest in the room with ice. I also had to visit the Medical Center, kudos to staff there, they all knew what they were doing and were very professional. Shopping on ship was great, bought a very nice necklace with an emerald and diamond charm. Staff was very helpful at all time. I visited Johnny Rockets once. Very nice. The pizza in the Pizza Shop not so great, very dried out. While we were in San Juan we went to the El Younge Rainforest before our cruise. Very nice. Read Less

We flew in the day of our cruise to San Juan, we did have a non stop flight or else we wouldn't have chosen to fly in the day of. Upon arriving at the pier everything embarkation went very smoothly for us. Which was surprising considering the horror stories I had heard. We arrived at about 2:30pm and were directed to the embarkation line and were on the ship in less than an hour. We proceeded to our stateroom and met our Room Steward Gerald. The first thing we noticed was an odor in our room that smelled like someone had been smoking in our room. We talked to Gerald about the odor and upon our return to the room the odor was gone. The ice we requested was in our room daily as was the extra pillows. I had brought a small fan to use at night and an extension cord just magically appeared without asking. Gerald was an awesome steward. We went to the pool bar to meet some of our cruise critic friends, found them no problem, what an exceptional friendly group of people. We had an awesome week with amazing people. I'm so glad I found Cruise Critic and became a member. Muster Drill was done at 5:30pm with no issues or problems. We proceeded to get dressed for our first meal in the Main Dining Room. We sat at dinner with Ginnie one of our Cruise Critic friends at a table for 4. Ronald was our waiter and our assistant waiter was Tommy, we thought both of them did a wonderful job of taking care of us. I am on a special medically supervised diet and Ronald went out of his way to make sure I had what I needed. My every need was seen to, special meals were made for me every night. We ate breakfast every morning in the Main Dining Room. We found the Windjammer to be a little to hectic for us and again my dietary needs were met no problem. The few times we ate lunch in the Windjammer we thought the food was good. We didn't have lunch that often. Sailing from San Juan there was a larger group of Hispanic cruisers and one very large group traveling together. Actually due to this large group there was only one show in The Lyric Theater each night. This was not really a big deal or even an in convince for us we just went with the flow. An amazing show on this cruise was the Ice Show. Linda one of our Cruise Critic friends was kind enough to think of us and get us tickets for this show. It was the best entertainment on this ship a definite don't miss. We had Dinner one night in Portofinos with a small group from Cruise Critic. The meal and service were excellent. Well worth the $20.00 charge. The company was even better. Both my husband and I visited the Spa twice each. We both had Manicures done, Rebecca did an awesome job, then I had a Facial done Louise was amazing a very relaxing treatment and my Husband got a hot shave which he really enjoyed. We could both get use to this kind of treatment very easily. Debarkation was a bit confusing and we were never given the declaration forms a head of time. It also was not easy for us to find our luggage but, once we did and had the paper work filled out everything went smoothly. We were in a taxi and on our way to the airport no problem. Read Less
