I'm a first time cruiser but had been interested in going on a cruise for ages, when I found out about this cruise from a friend and it got me excited about having a cruise that will leave from my home port! No plane flights, no hotel stays interstate, bonus! When I spoke to another friend about it, they were in on it too, so we booked, paid the deposit and bingo, cruise here we come! The ship is beautiful and I instantly fell in love with the Golden Princess but what was there not to love? She was going to be our home for the next 17 nights. The ship is easy for people to find their way around without too much trouble. The crew were wonderful, friendly, courteous, welcoming and they have a great sense of humour. The activities organised by the Cruise Director's Team were varied so that there was something for everyone and if you missed something the first time around because you were busy doing something else on the day, there was opportunity if the activity was a popular one to be repeated later in the cruise. The cabin, A257 on the Aloha Deck has the aft elevators and stairs nearby and the cabin itself has cabins both underneath and up on the upper Lido Deck as well so you're not near the public areas of the ship. Getting to places on the ship from the cabin is easy too. Some places are easier to walk to than others though. For meals it was eating at the Horizon Court Buffet, Prego's Pizzeria or from the Trident Grill on the Lido Deck as I prefer the relaxed atmosphere over the Dining Room. There was always a good selection of food to choose from in the buffet. Didn't have shore excursions planned or booked but did our own thing in the ports we visited in New Zealand. The entertainment onboard in the Princess Theatre or in the Explorers Lounge was some of the best entertainment I've seen, whether it be singing, dancing, karaoke, jugglers, comedians and everything else in between, it was always good. Disembarkation Day is sad when your holiday is over but the Disembarkation process is smooth and you are given all the information you need to know prior to the day, if in doubt, the staff at the Passenger Service Desk will answer your questions. In summary, I would love to repeat the cruise again as I had the best time. I loved it so much, I was thinking of how I could stowaway on the ship, that's how much I loved it. It was my happy place in my ship bubble but all good things must come to an end. I highly recommend the cruise to others though and I hope that you have a wonderful time just like I did. Read Less

Because it was leaving from Adelaide and returning to Adelaide that made this cruise very appealing to us, ment we didn't have to fly anywhere before, the timing was great for us and the destinations also were very appealing. The price wasn't restrictive for us and we really didn't know what to expect because it was our first cruising experience, We felt the overall experience was wonderful and will be seriously looking at doing another cruise to a different region in the very near future. We found the staff on all levels friendly and very professional unfortunately some of the passengers didn't show Australia in a very good light, but I guess you get all types on a cruise with so many passengers. We found the shows in the theares wonderful and the movies also very acceptable, the only bad movie was called the Final Portrait it stared geoffrey Rush but as a movie it was terrible. Read Less

I chose this adventure because it sailed from Adelaide which was a huge bonus for us as we didn't have to fly anywhere for departure. The ship was amazing and the extra bonus was having a Balcony that was truly a great move:) The fact that you could just sit outside and enjoy the fresh air made it worth while. The beds where heavenly to sleep on and the amazing food was delicious, the convenience of everything on board was super. I would do it again in a heartbeat xxx. The ease of embarking and disembarking was fantastic, no problems at all great team work by all involved: The Golden princess certainly deserves her name because that she is xxx: Sailing into new ports was truly a magical experience and just being in awe of the way the Captain and his staff manovered this ship around was a force to be reckoned with CLASS: CLASS : CLASS, it was an awesome site; The shore excursion were well planned and well supported, we can't help mother nature at times when we couldn't go ashore but then safety always comes first, did not matter because there was always something to do onboard. all in all i had a fantastic time thank you Golden Princess and crew until we meet again .... Not many Cruise Ships had visited Adelaide South Australia before that allowed locals to embark on a journey from your home port without having to take an airline flight to meet the ship. Our journey was a cruise for Family and perhaps allowing my Grandsons to see another part of the world before they go to back to Primary School and High School as who knows when or where their next cruise will happen. The Golden Princess offered excursions that fitted the schedule as well as time ashore for shopping and general sight seeing. The Entertainment was World Class and every generation enjoyed stage shows, deck activities as well as children activities. The dining aboard can only be described as unbelievable with a variety of Restaurants, Deck Cafe's, International Cafe and Bar with staff that allow you to enjoy fine food, drinks and snacks that suit all ages. The Staterooms are comfortable and clean with stewards that are only to willing to assist day or night. As far as the Golden Princess goes as a ship it had everything you could want for on a relaxing cruise, there are places like the Skywalk Area that if you want to read in the quiet then this is the place to go but at night it is a night club. I could not find one fault that would detract me from saying our cruise was one to remember, well done GOLDEN PRINCESS. Read Less

I chose this cruise as it left from my home port and the Pacific Islands were somewhere I really wanted to go and experience. I was given an upgrade to a mini-suite cabin on the Dolphin Deck, Deck 9, located midship forward on the port side of the ship. It was comfortable and spacious and the bed was very comfortable as well. I had chosen anytime dining but didn't go into the Main Dining Room, so just ate in the Horizon Court buffet, the International Cafe, Prego's Pizzeria and the Trident Grill instead. The food was good and there was a great selection of food which changed daily. The Cruise Director's team were fabulous keeping everyone entertained with the trivia, the activities and the game shows they did. I didn't go into the Princess Theatre to see the production shows as I had seen them during my cruise onboard the same ship in January 2018 when I cruised to New Zealand. There were many live performers and bands, so all music tastes were catered for. My favourites were The Drop party band, Tempo Quattro band and the piano player singer Roel de Vries who played in the Promenade Bar in the evenings. There was a good age range of passengers on board the ship and there was always something for everyone in regards to the performer's, bands, activities. Getting off the ship in port was well organised as disembarkation at each port was from Deck 4. Read Less

Good price at the right time. Just happened to stumble on it when searching cruises from Adelaide on my go to website Cruise sale finder. I loved the cruise. Quite an older crowd when we embarked there were a lot of elderly people. During the cruise didn't didn't see them much. So more relaxing cruise because there was only a few kids on board. Has its upside if your younger or middle aged. The ship didn't feel crowded most of the time. Always room in the pools and spas. Buffet was never packed. Good hygiene practised in the buffet stewards at the entrance making sure everyone washes there hands.!!! Lovely ship had a lovely cruise. No rough seas always a bonus when travelling Bass straight. The coffee package is good value. Food anytime. The entertainment was very good. Plenty of it. Something for everyone. The dining rooms very very relaxing and food was filling. Read Less

Do your self a favor and go on a cruise, staff fantastic, food is to die for, entertainment, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Just a perfect relaxing holiday. Our room was very spacious and the bed was so comfy. The activities are aimed at all ages. Such fun Due to high fire danger we didn't get to Kangaroo island which was understanding but disappointing as we have family there we wanted to catch up with them for lunch that day which was my birthday. It was our first cruise together, just wanted to see how we liked it and we both agree its definatley a relaxing holiday. Just unpack our bags and sit back, relax and enjoy the ride and all on board activities. Also great to join other people for dinner to see their stories and where they come from. Thought the shore excersions didn't tick all our boxes but we found alternate options. Keep up the great work princess. Read Less
