This tour was booked on a previous Celebrity cruise and it was our first expedition sail. Scanty Information about the tour specifics given, and the fact that I organized everything from my computer in Switzerland gave us a flash of surprise at arrival, albeit a pleasant one. Except for an excess of packed garments more suitable for a gala night on Equinox than for Xpedition. The rest of our review would be very similar to the reviews of our predecessors, helping only to increase the pile of 'excellent' reports. The ship and cabin was just right, service reading from our lips, superb dining. A special comment must be given to the zodiac excursions. They were aptly programmed and professionally organized. The drivers were skilled, naturalists knowledgeable and caring for us. The beautiful nature around us did the rest, clicking of the cameras is still in our mind. The pre-tour and after-tour arrangements in Quito, Ecuador, rounded up this remarkable excursion. All this together highly contributed to the breathtaking experience of this overall excellent tour. For guests from Europe a long travel might be an issue, and it is therefore advisable to combine this cruise with another tour in so marvelous Ecuador. Read Less

My family and I have been on many cruises and had reasonable expectations for the Silver Galapagos given the many negative reviews. The air conditioning on the ship did not work well most nights. We were informed by the staff that this is an expedition cruise and such should be expected. The food was terrible by any standards. The accomidations were as expected, but again, we had low expectations. The public rooms smelled of mildew and mold. Having been to the Galapagos three times now, I can say with confidence that this cruise is highly over priced given our experience. Other operators offered better service, food and accommodations for about 60% of the cost. On the positive side, the naturalists were very knowledgeable and friendly. Read Less
