This was my third Carnival cruise and the most disappointing. The cabin decor was very old and the breakfast and lunches were cafeteria caliber food. The 24-hour pizza kiosk was the best! Hate the idea that only water and cheap lemonade are offered as beverages, sodas should be included. The day at sea did not offer many activities, that could be a plus for those wanting the vegetate and do nothing. Long lines to eat breakfast and lunch. The Cat in the Hat breakfast was a high point, only $5 per person and the food was very tasty. My granddaughter very much enjoyed the character breakfast. The Sea and See shore excursion was a joke, especially the "tour" portion which was no more than a bus ride to a shopping area, not an island tour as advertised. Not worth the $80 per person cost. The entire experience felt low class! Read Less

Family of 5-ages 48, 21, 17 and 5 years old. I am a health inspector in NC for over 25 years. Have cruised on 4 different lines including Disney (5X), RCL (2X) and the Carnival Dream. Booked this cruise last minute (one month out) for the kids fall break. Day 1 embarkation went smoothly boarded ship at 1:15pm room was ready so we dropped off our luggage. 7265 OS was very well appointed. Did not smell bad. Lots of storage and very roomy. Balcony had 4 chairs and a table. Couch is strange looking, but sits well. Small chair was stained. Bathroom was clean and good repair. No missing tiles or mildew. Our 21 year old son had an inside cabin on the 8th deck. His cabin was clean and yes the bathroom was pink. It was clean and mildew free. Went up to pool deck for lunch buffet. Food was decent. Went swimming and then had to muster. Went fine. Sail away was good. Rum punch was strong and $7.95 it was the drink of the day. Crew was friendly. 6pm dinner in pacific dinning room. Waitstaff was very professional and took our orders quickly, food was decent. Not hot but warm. Did not have to wait long at all. Registered Our 5 year old at the children's area. Staff was friendly and attentive. Did not do any shows on the first night. Casino was smoky. Decided to go to bed around 9:30pm Bed was comfortable cabin temp was comfy but a little cooler would have been better. Next morning at 8am my 17 year daughter went to spa for fire and ice pedicure. It was $70 and last over an hour. Included Hot stones. The standard "buy our products" banter at the end was annoying. She was a satisfied customer. The rest of us had breakfast in the dinning room. Service was a little slower but still not bad. Walked into the Bahamas at 12:30pm back on ship by 3pm. Enjoyed the empty pools. Dinner was good and the waitstaff did a small celebration dance routine. Comedy show was funny. Not hilarious. Next morning was brunch in the the pacific dining room. Service was slower. Breakfast was the usual fair. Scrambled eggs had an unusual texture. Tasted ok. After went to the pool watched ice sculpture demo. Played bingo and casino slots. Disembarkation went fine, off the ship and back in our car before 9am. Overall this was a cruise worth the money we spent. I went in with super low expectations. Reviews I read made me nervous that we made a mistake booking this cruise. I actually feel that those reviews were people who expected this to be like Disney or RCL. It's not, but it's really a decent getaway for your money. Make the best of your experience enjoy it for what it is. Cheaper than other lines but certainly not a waste of money. Hope this review helps. Read Less

I went on this cruise as an office retreat. Let's just say if this was the first cruise I'd ever gone on I'd never cruise again! Disembarking was not good we were supposed to board at 12:30 we didn't get on the boat until after 1:30. The muster drill was mind-blowingly ridiculous they had us standing out there for 45 minutes and showed us absolutely nothing at all! Our first night at dinner was horrible the ship was so rocky none of us could enjoy the dinner due to the rocking which made a lot of us sick. Most of the food was absolutely disgusting none of the desserts from the "sweet shop" were sweet the food in the buffet was cold, old with no seasoning and the lines were way too long! There was a magician show we planned to go see when we got to the room where the show was to be held there was no magician about 2 minutes later the phone rang so one of the passengers answered they let us know that the magician would not be showing up! The comedy club was lame not funny at all, the pools were dirty. There were a couple of minor good things like the pizza, the chopsticks place and the club was fun but it got tooo smokey and ratchet late into the night. Our room was on the 6th deck, two nights in a row the way to our room was blocked off by a barricade thing so we had to go to the other side of the ship to walk back around to our room that was very inconvenient. I was very happy when I got off that boat! I guess you get what you pay for Read Less

We chose this cruise because of price. We were a little strapped for money this year. I wish we never went.... What a waste. The only thing good about the trip was getting off the boat to go to the beach for a day. I have two daughters,8 and 5, who do not like going to the kids clubs on any ships. With that being said, they were bored out of their minds. There was one breakfast for them to attend and one book reading for 15 minutes. That's it. Our room- the room was terrible... Could not enjoy the balcony as our pot smoking neighbors were choking the kids- it broke my heart that my daughters were exposed to that. ... Secondly, our bathroom smelled like a frat house urinal THE WHOLE TIME. Stains of who knows what, mold, mildew and pee mixed together.... We all showered with our flip flops on. The shows start after 10pm, except one, which was "risky" to bring young kids to as the men strip to their underwear in one scene. My daughter was shocked. I didn't know what to say.... Food- eh.... Did nothing but give me a stomach ache. They do not enforce ANYONE to sanitize their hands prior to the buffet or dinner, first cruise I've been on that doesn't have people making you do so.... I felt like we were the only ones who did! The only way I can seriously describe this experience, if you want to be up from 9p-5a on a sailing frat house, this is the cruise for you. If you have been there and done that, save your money and take a better vacation. I would have much rather stayed home which is sad. Surrounded by drunks, pee and pot made this a terrible vacation. Shame on you Carnival. Nasty nasty nasty. Read Less

My husband had never cruised before so I wanted a shorter cruise. We live close to Port Canaveral, so it was convenient for travel. We had a balcony cabin on the Lido deck. It was a great location. We never heard noise from the pool. We could walk straight out to the pools, bars and Lido buffet. The room was dated, but clean. We did not take our kids. We hung out in the Serenity area, which was really nice and much bigger than the one on the Carnival Sensation. We got the drink package, which worked out great. The bartenders were really polite and helpful. Our favorite bar was in the casino, and Allejandro was our favorite server. The food was good, but I would not say it was great. I think we both enjoyed the Brunch at Sea the most because the food was freshly prepared as compared to the dinner time meal where it all comes out en-mass. The staff at dinner was superb. We enjoyed them and like the dancing and shows. We spent time in the casino and watched a comedy show. It was fun. We spent only an hour or so in Nassau. It was just not fun to walk through the crowds of people trying to sell things. That is the only issue I have. I would like to go again, but almost all the ships go to Nassau, and I would like to try something different. We will have to drive farther south for that and get on a boat in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. Read Less

We had many disappointments with this cruise. Our cabin was not on the port side when docking at our destinations as we were told that they would be. We found chewed bubble gum in the end of a straw of a drink that was served to us. After attempting to drink and couldn't get the drink through the straw, we discovered the problem... VERY DISGUSTING!! VERY noisy above our cabin due to constant construction. Air conditioner did not work well AT ALL!! Horrible service at dinner 2 out of the 3 nights that we went to the dining room. We left an item IN OUR CABIN, have yet to be notified that it was found. Our cruise date was 9/11/16-9/15/16, This bag was an expensive bag and had jewelry in it! This is a MAJOR dissapointment. I really had more confidence than this in carnival. however this is a major disappointment to me! Just a get a way for the wife and myself, what a great time we had. We booked on short notice, less than two weeks before setting sail, got a nice room on the bow of the ship just below the bridge, and had a semi private deck, not known but to a few...that was nice. Used the Park and Cruise on Merritt Island, again. We find them to be very professional, and will continue to use them in the future, their staff make the load and unloading process effortless. We set sail on the Carnival Victory, our cabin stew ate, Ronnell and waiter, Numberone, we're so professional and helpful in everyone. Met one dining room member from Rominia, don't remember his name, but stated he was employee of the month for July, this man took great pride in his job, and was ready to lend a smile or few, during the talk we had. The four piece band that played on Prominade deck was without one of the best I have ever heard, they were damn good. The food was fine no complaints, as it was nothing a little salt and pepper could not make better, except the pizza, which was good all the timeshare pools, and a huge water slide made the trip that much better. All in all, no issues either small or large, just a plain ole good time. Enjoyed karaoke at night, wow some great singers in there every night. We are ready to go again, and certainly planning in early 2017. Read Less

This 4 day cruise was our 5th with Carnival and 40th overall. We selected it to celebrate our 54th anniversary. Being experienced cruisers, we expect some problems and weren't disappointed. Getting onboard was no problem, about 1/2 hr from being dropped off by friends til we were in our cabin. First problems....no water, phone didn't work, TV remote didn't work, no paper and pen to leave messages to cabin steward. No Cabin steward until 9 am the following morning. Got our water and a bucket of ice (no refrigerator) and TV remove fixed. Got a note from the ship saying several aft decks were without telephone service and to use the house phone by the elevators. They didn't work either. Finally found a house phone that worked. My wife has all kinds of dietary problems, so we bring breakfast bars that she can eat and she orders tea, citrus sections, and bananas to be delivered each morning. That first morning, dead ants in the citrus sections and the banana was absolutely ROTTEN. I went down to the breakfast buffet to get her a grapefruit and the lines were looooong (but only on the first day. After our cabin steward reported the problem with the delivery, a manager brought up another tray for my wife and couldn't stop apologizing. Now the good stuff. The cabin was very clean. No sewage smell anywhere on the ship. Lots of families and lots of kids, but the kids were all well behaved...no running around in the halls etc. At the lunch buffet, we would contact a manager and tell him of my wife's dietary needs, and a chef would make up a special platter just for her. In the DR for dinner, they would take extra care to make sure that her food was OK. One night she had the filet and lobster tail (no butter on the steak or tail). VERY enjoyable. We spent a LOT of time in the casino....unfortunately -- LOL, but on our anniversary, we found this beautiful cake in our cabin, wishing us a happy anniversary from the casino. My wife couldn't have any but I made up for it. We saw both production shows. I didn't care for the lead male singer, but the female and rest of the cast were terriffic. Service in the DR was very good, as was the service and attitude of all the ship's personnel that we interfaced with. Even the worker that tried to fix our phone had a smile on his face and apologizes when he couldn't fix it. We normally cruise on another (and upscale) line, but will continue to cruise with Carnival out of Port Canaveral now and then if the price and itinerary are good Read Less

We were cruising to celebrate a graduation. We were offered an upgrade to a stateroom with a bigger balcony and jacuzzi tub about a week prior to our departure. The upgrade cost almost 400 dollars and was NOT worth the price! The room decor looked old and outdated. There was dust inside the lamp and on top of the refrigerator. The bathroom reeked of vinegar smell! I am so thankful I brought Clorox wipes because I cleaned out the tub myself and you would not believe the nasty residue that was on the wipe after cleaning it! The jacuzzi tub was a joke and the jets hardly worked when you were in it. The phone in the room did not work to call for room service. When my husband went to customer service he waited in line 45 minutes to tell them for the second time that our phone was not working they said we are having trouble the lines. Which was the excuse the day before as well. The food in the dining room was good, however the buffet food was less than mediocre. The room service food was awful and not even worth advertising it as room service because the lines were always down when you wanted to order. FYI if your cruising Carnival bring Clorox wipes! Carnival Cruise Line Carnival Victory Cruise Ship, Port Canaveral, Florida really let me down! I got married on the ship and my wedding was amazing but what ensued upon cruising was terrible. 1) They were doing major work on the lido deck where most of the dining occurs right next to the pool. The work included tar and other equipment. It was dangerous for children and others. It impacted the use of the pool and we were never informed before booking over 60 people for the cruise that major work would be done. It also lasted the entire cruise and my guests were pretty annoyed with me about my choice in cruise ships. Not to mention you had to wait online for at least 20 minutes to get anything on the Lido Deck. At one point the staff yelled at me for trying to get a hotdog for my 2 year old son saying if "I let him eat everyone has to eat. This food is for us...the staff."2) My bag was put into a night stand by one of my "bridesmaids" I left the cruise without it and was not able to re-board to get it. I called immediately to let them know I left my bag on the ship. I called back after getting information about where my bag was left. I was told that my bag was not on board and not found. I was later contacted by the person who was given my room who had my bag. Which questions how well they clean the rooms? If they ever even looked? How much they care about customers? Especially one that booked over 20 state rooms???? Thank God for Good People because Carnival could care less. They were rude on the phone and very dismissive and to think my bag with my entire life was exactly where I told them it would be. Imagine how unclean the room is if large bags can be left??? Several of the guests complained about the state of their rooms as well. 3) My camera went mysteriously missing....My husband purchased so we could capture our time. 4) We waited literally 2 hours and 40 minutes to ask a question about our bill at the customer service desk. The information/ customer service desk is the only place you can get a room key reissued, ask a question about a bill, or a host of other things. It was terrible trying to do a group activity because we could not get support coordinating, events in advance, or service on the ship. 5) I called the post cruise customer service and the supervisor was absolutely the most rude and disrespectful manager I have ever spoken to . I guess after they receive thousands of dollars they don't really need your future business. Carnival we have cruised with other lines and we were very disappointed by the experience. It was a let down and disappointment that could have been rectified with some courtesy and compassion. Thank you for an amazing wedding and a terrible cruise experience. Read Less

We were looking for a quick getaway and the Carnival Victory seemed to check off all the boxes. I must admit we set our expectations low based upon some of the reviews we had seen. But we were VERY pleasantly surprised. We purchased the Faster to the Fun package - well worth the price. Had no troubles dropping off bags, finding a place to park, and walking right on the ship. Our bags were at our cabin in less than an hour. And we didn't have to wait to disembark. Our idea of a vacation includes an adult pool, a martini bar, casino/bingo/trivia, and good food. We didn't get off the ship so I can't comment on excursions. The adult pool area was small but every time we were there, it was hardly full. The Alchemy Bar has a great staff and tasty beverages. We were able to change our dining preferences onboard to anytime dining and a table for 2. Our servers were friendly and efficient. The ship doesn't have any specialty dining (a bummer!) but steakhouse items were available for a small fee. I had the surf and turf one night - nicely prepared. The casino was a disappointment - not because of the ship or crew but because it's one of the places where smoking is permitted. We've become fans of trivia, but I must admit this wasn't the best. The cruise staff seemed disinterested and rushed. So we opted to spend our time elsewhere. Overall, we were absolutely delighted with the Carnival Victory. The cruise was smooth, weather was terrific, staff was friendly, and food/beverage delicious. Read Less

This was our third cruise, all with Carnival, and by far our worst to date. I'll start with the good first, then get into our issues with it. First, the ship was extremely stable and motion was not an issue at all for either of us. Next, the food was mostly good, Lido buffet was solid, dining room food was good, and we even did some room service. Of course the social aspect of cruising is always good. My wife and I aren't much into the club scene, but we've always enjoyed chatting with new people in the hot tub, on deck, or at meals. Now, for our issues. First and foremost, the crew was just awful. Obviously there were exceptions, some warm personalities, the room steward is always great (although we saw MUCH less of him than we did on our previous cruises). The on deck crew ranged from absent (forget about a traveling bartender anywhere other than Lido) to unapproachable. There were several occasions where crew members where plowing right through passengers to get to wherever they were heading. It was sad how frequently we encountered crew members that were actively avoiding eye contact and the very worst thing was that many of them were on their personal cell phones texting/surfing while on duty! Did I mention the crew was ignoring passengers in favor of burying themselves in their personal cell phones????? Second, the ship just wasn't clean. On our previous cruises, empty drink cups were an oddity and dirty dishes were promptly removed. Not so on this cruise, where drink cups sat around all day, probably until the overnight cleaning and tables on lido remained dirty for 20-30 minutes. Then there was the underlying smell of raw sewage, as has been reported by several users. There were times in the shower, too, where I questioned whether or not the water filtration system was working properly. Next, serenity was a big disappointment which is a feature we most look forward to. For starters, it is right next to the water slide which is right next to lido. Unlike the fantasy class ships where serenity is on the back and very separate, serenity on the victory is loud. There was a bar up there, but it closed sometime around dinner and was not ever once open in the evening. As mentioned earlier, there were ZERO traveling bar tenders who made their way up there to grab drink orders, so you were stuck walking down to the busy lido bar to get your drinks. The hot tubs on serenity were also awkward, frequently too hot to enter, but also had a strange bench that forced you into an awkward uncomfortable position. Trust me, the second you sit down in one, you'll say "oh, I see what he meant!" Finally, as previously mentioned, empty drink cups sat out up here all day long, and Serenity is also the area where the sewage smell tended to be the worst. Onto our cabin, which I will open by saying I fully admit our issues were partially my fault for lack of planning, but I'll get to that in a second. This time, we sprung for a balcony cabin and booked very early. I checked regularly for, and got, several upgrades thanks to early saver. We ended up in an 8F balcony on the 11th deck which, according to their number/letter rating system, should have been one of the better balcony cabins on the ship. First off, we ended up having a balcony that was NOT private because our lack of roof meant that folks hanging out at the railing on serenity might as well have been sitting on our balcony with us. Moving on from there, Camp Carnival was on the deck right above us, and I'm pretty sure they spent most of the day playing a game called "lets see if we can jump down the stairs while screaming". Last, and certainly worst, was the cleaning ritual that occurred starting at about 0300 above our heads. If I went up there and found them bowling, it would have actually made sense, as it sounded like their deck cleaning involved dropping boulders off the crows nest down onto the deck. Again, I accept responsibility for not planning better. I am normally much more diligent about getting a cabin sandwiched in between passenger decks, but it was just bad. Moving on to the dining room. The food was good, something about the waitstaff was off. They all seemed to be very stressed and were all running extremely slow. We did anytime dining, as we have done in the past, but this time the service was so slow that we started wondering if they were understaffed and teams were responsible for too many tables. Our water cups were nearly always empty, food was slow to arrive, and orders were slow to be taken. On our last night in the dining room, we showed up at 6:15 and didn't get out of there until just before 8. For the most part, the staff was nice, but they were very very rushed and the maitre'd seemed to be playing his own game of "can I make an appearance at every table in the dining room in under 60 seconds". Steak and lobster night wasn't a thing either, which was a bummer. You could get steak or lobster, for $20.... The entertainment staff was meh also. On our past cruises, the cruise director was interactive and informative, on this one, we never really knew what was going on. As an example, formal dining happened without a single announcement. Had I not noticed the small blurb that it was cruise formal night in the daily pamphlet, we would have showed up to dinner in shorts. We also watched the "hairiest chest contest" on lido and the MC clearly did not want to be there, making jokes so sarcastic that he wasn't really funny, just plain nasty. Finally, despite being a bigger boat than what we've cruised on in the past, it just felt crowded and plain. It honestly just felt like a bigger version of the fantasy class but with the same staff and more passengers. Lines were much longer than I've ever seen. Overall, it just wasn't the same experience. My own personal opinion is that a change of crew management, or at least a change of direction for them, is all that's necessary to bring this cruise to greatness. Had we never cruised before, we would likely say this would be our last cruise, but we do know that it can and has been so much more with a better crew. Read Less

I am not a huge fan of Carnival in general, and the 4-day cruise in particular is best suited to those looking for a loud party boat for a short getaway. But, I LOVE the Carnival Live concert setup, and was thrilled to see my favorite band, Journey, on this sailing. I was even happier to find that somebody was listening when I complained last year about their idiotic ban on photographs at the concert, so we were free to snap away this year. The Victory is an older and somewhat smaller boat than the one we were on last year. They are doing some refurbishment during their time in port, hence our already-short cruise was further abbreviated by 4 hours, departing 2 hours later and arriving 2 hours earlier than originally scheduled. Our cabin was reasonably spacious and comfortable, and I was very pleased that the door to the balcony didn't slam shut every time it was opened - more enjoyable to use, and less noisy. Cabin service was excellent, and very friendly. I also really like that Carnival provides self-service laundry facilities, although we didn't use them for this short trip. Food was ok, but nothing great, and bar service in the dining room was very slow. We didn't do any shore excursions, spending our time in Nassau visiting friends and the day at Half Moon Cay enjoying the beach. It's a private island and a very nice stop, with Carnival food service (burgers etc) at a pavilion on shore so you don't need to go back to the ship. And you can use your sign & sail card for purchases, so really it's like an extension of the ship. The concert was awesome as expected, and well worth the entire 4 day trip. If they book Journey again next year, I will be there! Read Less

The lines were pretty long, but the food was actually better than in the dining room. No problem getting our luggage, we were in our room shortly after the life boat drill. Inside cabin was spacious, queen size bed with nice size bathroom. I could actually move around, especially in the shower which was hand held. Only negative was no flat screen tv. I was able to watch the NBA playoffs at the Sports bar on deck 5. Loved the room service which was very quick. Free for any items that weren't hot. $5.00 dollars for wings or pizza, which is still reasonable. Could hardly feel the ship, very smooth sailing. Enjoyed the Serenity area where you could lay out and get in the Jacuzzi, Top floor was a big mattress where you could just lay out. My husband enjoyed the spa. Shopping was at a minimum. Activities scheduled at weird times. Would try 4 night with private island. Plenty to do in the Bahamas, took tour to Whittier rum factory, everything done by hand. Don't forget to get your bottle of white Hennessy, not sold in the states. Read Less

From some of the reviews I read, I was very worried that the ship was going to be a huge disappointment. It was just the opposite. It only took about 30 minutes to board, and our stateroom was ready as soon as we got on the ship, at 1:30. That was really nice, especially since we were told we could pack soda in our check in luggage over the phone, but told it had to be in carry-on when we arrived. The stateroom, was better than expected. It was very clean, spacious and we loved the balcony! The bathroom was small, as expected, but clean and did not look run-down or have an awful smell as some have stated. After dropping off our carry-on luggage, we went to the Lido deck and ate lunch. It was less crowded than I thought it would be. They had several options of things to eat. All were separated so if you wanted burgers you got in one line, hot dogs or chicken nuggets, sandwiches, pizza, Chinese, a separate line, etc. Some of the lines were long, but moved quickly and we never had a problem finding a seat with a great view. The staff were constantly cleaning off the tables, as well as the buffet and restocking food before trays were empty. The one main problem I saw was that two buffets were right by the pool area and two bars. It got very congested in that area. I enjoyed the buffet food more than the dining room, but both were good, and the ice cream and frozen yogurt stations were great. The casino was very smoky and sometimes you had to walk through to get to another place on the ship, but we survived. We also had a little difficulty finding areas we needed to get to, but every staff member we ran into was very friendly and told us how to get where we wanted to be. We took the stairs as much as possible and got a lot of exercise! Nina was our room attendant and always had our room refreshed by the time we returned from dinner and if we saw her in the hall at any time during the day, she would ask if we needed anything. I thought the boat looked great and didn't see the horror of a rundown ship that needed to be remodeled like others have stated. The cruise director, Marcelo, was very funny and really seamed to enjoy his job. We can't wait to cruise again! PROS: Lots of activities, great variety of food, areas and shows were not overly crowded, great staff, nice rooms, They sang to us & gave us a special dessert (that was DELICOUS) for our anniversary. CONS: The ship is set up less conveniently than others. There was a lot of traveling up, then down to get to certain areas and you sometimes had to travel though areas to get to other, like the smoky casino (only a problem for us non-smokers) We didn't have our kids, and although they had Dr. Suess activities, I didn't think most of the shows and activities were appropriate for younger children. If we sail with kids, we would definitely choose a different ship. TIPS: Bring an insulated refillable cup. We filled ours with water, juice or lemonade every time we walked by the drink station and it worked much better than the little cups provided. We used glo-sticks to keep our bathroom dimly lit at night so we didn't have to turn on the light each time. Stay on board while everyone else goes into port and enjoy the ship. We got off the boat 2 hours after the crowds and it was great! No lines on the ship, or getting into port. Read Less

We went out of Port Canaveral on a 4 day to Nassau and Freeport on the Carnival Victory. We really like this port because it is easy to get to since we drive from North Georgia and the port itself is easy to navigate. We stay the night in one of the hotels along I95 in Titusville and they have coupons for parking at the port - nice. The Victory is a medium sized ship with a lot of balconies. It is pretty standard Carnival, which we like. All of the crew was very nice, and the cruise director seemed to be on top of things all of the time. We had someone take ill about an hour out of Nassau, so we had to turn around and take them back so they could be seen at a hospital. Not sure what happened, but the cruise director sounded shaken when he came on for the announcement....hope the person is okay. Nassau is Nassau, if you've been there more than a couple of times. They are re-doing that big barn like structure that you have to go through in order to get outside....looks like it will be nice. We had never been to Freeport before, and if we dont go again, that will be fine. It is a very industrial looking port, not pretty at all. There is a nice little shopping area right at the dock, and we didnt take an excursions, so cant say much about it. The port has a lot of container ships there and we saw some others in dry-dock which was kinda cool. All in all, a good trip, just too short. Read Less

Sarita, Vinnie & Family April 10th-14th, 2016 This was our first cruise and we wanted to know what it felt like being on a cruise. We had a wonderful time and I am so glad that my husband and I decided to go along with our son, his wife and kids. I am extremely afraid of heights but it was not as bad as I thought. I kept a distance from the rails and looked out into the sea which was fine for me it was the only way I was going to get over it since I am a smoker. The entertainment was great I just had to keep an eye on my husband Vinnie from continuously going to the casino room he said that the machines were calling him and I truly found that hard to believe....(lol) The food was pretty good they were always have food available for one to eat. The dining area was wonderful and the service was excellent! We had a cabin where there was no window but next time I'll make sure there is one since I had no clue what time of day it was. The only thing I did not like was the movement of the boat it was not a good experience when I felt the boat move but besides that I loved being on it. As for the ports we went to Nassau and Freeport I had a good time shopping in Nassau. One thing I wanted to mention the environment and music was great and we met a lot of wonderful people on board and was able to spend sometime with them as well......Just wish we could have exchanged some information with them before we left. Can't wait till we plan our next cruise. Overall the ship was beautiful and Yes, I would do this all again hopefully soon!! (My favorite part of it all hanging out on the Lido Deck, feeling the breeze, seeing the sunrise and the sunset!) Read Less

This was only our second cruise so we don't have a lot of comparison, but we did note a few things. Embarkation was extremely easy and fast.....much better than our last experience in Baltimore. Once on the boat it was chaotic, which I believe is common on most boats. Line ups for lunch were lengthy, but our room was ready as promised by 1:30, so we ate a bit later. The muster exercise was VERY disturbing and unorganized. Many of us in muster stations F, G, and H were having difficulty finding our location (mainly because they announced that we were in the front of the boat when in fact we were in the aft). I stopped two separate crew members to help us find the right location -- both of who shrugged their shoulders and walked away. Eventually several of us found it on our own.....but then had to wait over half an hour for the rest of the cruisers to find it. The staff assigned to the muster drill seemed genuinely disinterested and bored with the whole thing. I was placed in the back row behind two gentlemen who were both over 6 feet tall (I am 5 ft 2 in)....I could not see the demonstration and genuinely left feeling a complete lack of confidence in the staff's ability to look out for my safety should something happen. This fact alone will discourage me from booking another Carnival cruise. I found some of the staff to be wonderful - our room steward and some of the bar attendants for example - but overall, most seemed disengaged and uninterested. On one occasion, a maintenance person snorted at me like a pig as I got off the elevator. Had I not been so shocked, I would have asked his name and turned him in. Another staff member was clearly irritated when we asked how to get from one end of the boat to the other - she simply said "go to the fifth floor". We enjoyed the food in both the dining room and the buffet. Lots of choice and mostly to our taste. Our only complaint is that we were placed at different tables every night so did not have a consistent waiter. Getting wine in the dining room proved to be difficult.....usually got one glass of wine then we're not asked again. We learned to tell them right off the bat that we would be needing more than one glass of wine with dinner. That seemed to do the trick. The cabin was adequate.....small but alright. The bathroom seemed old and in need of improvements, but was sufficient for our needs. Cabin lights took a long time to come on......a fact we figured out by the second day. Our room was located under the lido deck so lots of noise throughout the night. The casino was smoky and unfortunately you had to walk through it to get from one end of the boat to the other. The smell of smoke hit you as soon as you got off the elevator. The shows were great - we enjoyed them tremendously. Some were too late for my liking, but those I saw were excellent. Overall, it was an ok cruise and we did enjoy it. Will likely go back to Royal Carribean though. Read Less

Boarding the ship was a smooth process. Disembarkation was also easy. It took us 20 minutes to get to our car from the time our section was called. They ran ahead of schedule and the process was quick and easy. All the staff in the ship were extremely nice. Our cabin steward was over the top nice and greeted us by our first names whenever he saw us. We never encounter any staff that were rude. They were always very kind and willing to help. Dining: I'm a celiac so I was a little worried about my food options. They went above and beyond to prepare food for me. Each night at diner I preorder for the next day. I never got sick from anything they prepared. They even had GF pizza available. All dining options were open to me. I give them an A+ for being able to accommodate a special allergy. Food Quality: The buffets and pizza were quite good. There was always a tasty snack available. The food in the main dining room was average. That being said we never went hungry. Entertainment: The dancers and singers were good except the productions were weak. Whoever was putting the productions together didn't do that great of a job. The rest of the shows were ok. We did a lot of the comedy shows. Some were good. Some were not. We had no issue with the cabin. It was clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 2 of us. We had a balcony which was nice. Read Less
