Cabin 2572
Jan 2017
We booked two adjoining cabins for our family and were delighted with the layout and space by doing so. The cabins were extremely well noise-insulated otherwise, but with the ability to open the internal door gave us more room on this long cruise. We deliberately chose cabins that were between two other passenger cabin decks (Main deck) and that were low down near mid-ships to minimize the effect of the roaring 40s and Drake Passage (which was thankfully calm). Highly recommend this area of the ship and we never heard people on the promenade deck above these cabins. The bathroom is a little dated and the TV could be replaced again (even though it was the Signature of Excellence updates), but generally the ship is charming and not showing its age. Its not a 2017 ship nor is it a mega-ship, but it feels like an old ocean liner and is comfortable.

Cabin 2572

We had adjoining ocean view rooms on Deck 2. Our rooms were decent size and the location was great. I'm prone to motion sickness and did fairly well being in the center of the boat on a lower deck. The only complaint I had about our state room was the bathroom was dated. It served its function, but it wasn't necessarily the place I wanted to spend a lot of time.

The cabin was fine- a bit bigger than on the Veendam, but a familiar layout.

Nice, clean, spacious. Incredibly comfortable beds. Very nice shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. A little dated looking but everything worked just fine.

It is worth the small upgrade to get a lower deck mid-ship mainland-side cabin on this itinerary. I turned down an upper deck forward balcony (roll and pitch in case of rough weather).

Cruise to Hawaii By: kamfan
The cabin was as advertised. No surprises except for the one plumbing problem. If anyone is concerned about the promenade above it, we heard nothing from the deck. However, being so low, we did hear some crew work especially prepping for port. Other than that, no concerns with noise, even though this cabin is very close to the elevators. I will say that the room was starting to show its age a bit, chipped paint on corners, the desk slightly scratched up etc. But nothing major at all.

Great bathroom with full tub, big waterview from our two portholes, great service from our stateroom attendant team. The laundry was well taken care of and no clothes were shrunk other than was the fault of so much good food.

Great cabin - central location, close to laundry room but not so close to be noisy, nothing above or below to generate noise either. Window looks out to promenade deck so walkers will be in your view but they cannot see in due to reflective coating on window. Plenty of closet and storage space.
