This was our third cruise with Viking and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Viking’s cruises are 5 star in my opinion. We have been spoiled by their service in all areas!
The included excursions at each stop are excellent, however, we have enjoyed the optional excursions as well. The guides for each excursion are so knowledgeable in the area and we’ve always learned so much at each ...
My wife had relatives that were from a number of the countries on this cruise which is why we chose it. We saw a diversity of sites which is what made this cruise a big hit. Some of the excursions were very unique, including visiting a person's home in Croatia and seeing old Communist era buildings during the excursions.
Budapest was our favorite location, a beautiful city, especially at night. ...
While we were the youngest people on the ship (in our 30's) - we absolutely loved sailing the rhine river and experiencing different countries by unpacking once! we didn't have to think about what we were going to do at each port - great free excursions, and absolutely fantastic upgrade excursions. we did opt out of a handful of excursions to go explore on our own (i.e. Renting e-bikes on our ...
The air conditioning on our boat gave out on day 3. We were told that we still had air in our rooms but I think it was spotty. The dining room and lounge were very hot. The temperatures in France ranged from high 90's to low 100's.
I thought the walking tours were tough especially in the heat. A lot of uphill walks on cobblestones. I go to the gym on a regular basis and think I'm in ...
I wanted to visit some major cities in Germany, Austria and Hungary. This cruise blew my expectations out of the water for a river cruise! The staff was so attentive and knowledgeable! The decor of the entire shop was beautiful! The fresh flowers everywhere were such an exotic touch. The coffee station was awesome and every coffee choice delicious. The cleanliness of the entire ship was impecable. ...
I have been on a Viking cruise before and loved it so much I decided to go again.
The excursions we chose were truly great, and all the guides and hosts were informative providing us with an unforgettable experience.
My favorites were Kinderdijk and the whole history, both past and present. It was fascinating. The beautifully preserved Marksburg Castle was enchanting giving us a historical ...
We had never been to Europe and we are 'boat people' so it was just a decision concerning which river. My ancesors are French and German so the Rhine seemed logical. Why Viking? Their reviews were stellar and I like their commercials. I was disappointed that I did not get to meet the lady-baker with the great, fresh bread. From the Captain, the First Officer ( the Captain's wife and 'true Captain' ...
This was my first River Cruise and my first Viking Cruise, and the experience did not disappoint! We did experience a minor snag while sailing as our air conditioning went out on the ship but to no fault of the crew. I wholeheartedly blame Mother Nature as France and most of the world was experiencing an extreme heat wave. The ships A/C condenser just could not handle the weather. That being said, ...
Our overall experience was wonderful! Everyone was beyond helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I had never been on a cruise before, and don't have an interest in the larger Ocean cruises. River cruising sounded delightful, and it was! The food was delicious, the rooms, while a bit tight, are very well designed and high quality. We had a balcony, which I would recommend. Made a huge difference in ...
It was our first cruise and we were celebrating our 35th anniversary, I wanted my wife to see some of the wonderful cities I’d visited on work trips. The ship was very nice, clean and European style. The room, those small, was well appointed and had a small veranda, which we enjoyed sitting on whenever possible.
The water level was low so they had to make some minor adjustments. We were ...
